Position Summary/Objective

The Lab Manager / Extraction Manage
This position is a lead, supervisory position. The Extraction Manager position is responsible for directing the work of others and assisting in the manufacturing lab where the company produces marijuana concentrates. The lab is a multi-faceted environment, and the Extraction Manager will handle a multitude of tasks including: engaging with and directing the operation of extraction equipment, production of marijuana concentrates, scheduling and organizing the extraction team, directing and engaging in Research and Development.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Carrying out routine tasks accurately and strictly following SOP’s.
· Following and ensuring strict safety procedures and safety checks.
· Direct and assist the Extraction team in the performance of all extraction related duties. This will include checking the quality of the Technician's work to ensure that minimum standards are maintained.
· Coordinating with other departments and scheduling extraction runs and product refinement to meet the needs of those departments.
· Detailing extraction parameters, interpreting extraction data, and adjusting parameters as necessary.
· Maintaining rigorous logs, detailing extraction parameters, results, equipment and laboratory maintenance, and cleaning tasks, among other things. Checking these logs to ensure that these tasks are being performed, and their results recorded, by the Extraction team.
· Identifying areas for Research and Development, formulate a plan of approach, and communicate any potential projects to Management. If an R&D project is approved, coordinate with Extraction team to conduct necessary research and experimentation.
· Creating and implement a Cleaning Schedule, ensuring that equipment, tools, and workspaces maintain a high level of cleanliness.
· Ensuring that the laboratory is well-stocked and resourced, by regularly inventorying equipment and tools, and placing orders as necessary.
· Keeping equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs when needed.
· Keeping up to date with technical developments within the industry, especially those which can save time and improve reliability.
· Engaging in process improvement within the Extraction Lab and coordinating with superiors to implement improvements.
· Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications, engaging in industry events, etc...
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Required Skills and Competencies
· 4 Year Degree in science-related field, or a minimum of 2 years' experience in a laboratory or product manufacturing setting.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Manufacturing, Engineering, or similar field or at least 2 years’ experience in cannabis manufacturing

- 4 plus years’ experience managing product, staff, and resources in a commercial manufacturing operation

Job Responsibilities: *
- Organizing and maintaining laboratory operations procedures, scheduling, and staffing to ensure cost-efficient and timely production of medical cannabis products meeting management goals.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Manufacturing, Engineering, or similar field or at least 2 years’ experience in cannabis manufacturing
- Experience with hydrocarbon extraction, CO2 extraction, and distillation techniques preferred
- 4 plus years’ experience managing product, staff, and resources in a commercial manufacturing operation

As the Senior Manager, Solventless Extraction, you will possess a high level of technical expertise and application of solventless extraction methods. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Project Managing all development stages of new solventless SKUs, communicating updates and progress to the VP, Extraction for master tracking purposes
- Partnering with Compliance and QA functions to develop spec sheets, safety standards and scalable production processes

EXTRACTION LAB MANAGER
We are a vertically integrated medical cannabis company in the State of Missouri, rooted in science and technology and focused on superior business and compliance practices. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Extraction Lab Manager will be responsible for the production of all oil, concentrates and infused products as well as the maintenance and use of all equipment, production facilities, extraction processes (BHO, ethanol). Duties performed include production management, compliance, quality control, cost, and safety oversight for the processing facility.
· Responsible for achieving targeted production goals for the facility and various product lines
· Ensure assigned KPIs are being tracked and improved according to the company’s policies and procedures (see Appendix)
· Adherence to quality management systems and processes including GMP/GAP practices as directed by the senior management team
· Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, local and state laws, rules, and regulations
· Ensure all SOPs, checklists and other relevant documents are up to date and all employees have been trained and certified as proficient
· Manage the daily operations of the production areas
· Manage the daily operations of the extraction, formulation, and packaging departments
· Train, plan, schedule, and direct the performance of assigned staff
· Offering expertise from product formulation experience
· Perform workflow analysis and make recommendations on process improvements
· Conducting research and development trials in conjunction with other members of the senior management team
· Scheduling R&D and qualification of new products to maximize operational throughput

Core Duties:
The Extraction Manager is responsible for leading and navigating day-to-day laboratory operations. Principal Responsibilities:
Under direction from the Production Director, the Extraction Manager is responsible for the operation of the extraction production process while ensuring the safe, accurate, and timely production of products. The Extraction Manager’s duties shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Leading in the operation and maintenance of extraction equipment.
- Help develop and execute the process of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Assist with the front-end processing of raw materials, including weighing, grinding, cleaning and general lab work.
- Prepare workspace, equipment, and materials daily.

Position Overview
The Lab Manager will be responsible for product development, oversee the extraction process and manage the laboratory team.

- Experience with utilization and/or implementation of METRC software, ERP systems, digital inventory systems, and data analysis tools a definite plus.

The Extraction Manager manages and directs all Pennsylvania extraction, refinement, formulation, and product production. The Manager leads a team of 8-12 direct reports to consistently produce high-quality concentrates and formulated products.

Position Overview
The Extraction Technician is responsible for following established protocols, regulations and procedures during the extraction process while operating equipment and conducting activities required to manufacture and store product, as well as properly maintain production equipment and materials necessary to run a world-class extration lab.

The Extraction Manager is responsible for leading and navigating day-to-day laboratory operations. Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee all processes in the manufacture of hydrocarbon extracts (live resin/cured extracts & distillation)
- Create or revise SOP's for facility as needed
- Coordinate operations including, but not limited to; crew management, facility and equipment maintenance, inventory management of materials/chemicals/equipment/finished goods
- Assist in launching new products and maintaining efficient processes for successful projects.
- Ensure that production schedules are met within budgeting parameters
- Further develop and maintain extraction operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing operational policies and procedures
- Coordinate with other key stakeholders (sourcing, distribution, sales) to ensure a seamless production cycle and meet all internal company and customer quality standards throughout the product life.
- Creation and delivery of weekly reports on key performance metrics
- Maintain a 100% compliance standard in accordance with State & Local regulations
- Train personnel on product compliance, safety requirements, and proper execution of tasks per SOPs.
- Implement and maintain appropriate quality control processes and procedures to guarantee accuracy of analysis and quality of results.

Required Skills/Qualifications:
· Possession of a valid OLCC Marijuana Handlers permit
· Understanding of applied fluid and pressure dynamics
· Experience working with/on industrial machinery(centrifuges, vacuum distillers, conveyors, etc)
· Must maintain current knowledge of and adhere to all policy and regulations of the Oregon Liquor Control Commission Recreational Marijuana Program; Oregon Health Authority, Oregon Department of Agriculture.

Extraction Lab Manager
At Solstice, the Lab Manager is responsible for the management of the Solstice lab, which includes planning inventory, improving and executing extraction processes, scheduling and managing lab team, and coordinating with the management team to execute a comprehensive manufacturing plan.

Lab Manager Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Operation, training, and oversight of Ironfist Fabrication EX4-502 Extractor and the associated post-extraction equipment necessary per SOP’s product specifications
- Coordination with Inventory Manager and Operations Manager to ensure that materials and labor necessary for finished concentrate generation per manufacturing plan are in place
- Management of appropriate environmental conditions within lab and for all lab materials
- Execution of manufacturing plan to meet specific timelines on a daily, weekly, and monthly horizon
- Development of SOPs to continue to improve consistency and quality – ability to identify key variables from inventory to solvent to process that impact quality and yield
- Ensure accurate and timely inventory in all stages of production, and data collection to assist the Operations Manager in review and analysis
- Work with colleagues, Leads, Managers, and Directors to solicit ideas on how to update/improve processes to be incorporated into the Solstice Way
- Management of hard goods and soft goods inventory and work with the Purchasing Associate to ensure adequate supply line for execution of manufacturing plan
- Monitor and maintain work areas in accordance with relevant regulations and safety codes, compliance (WSLCB)
- Overseeing execution of strict maintenance and cleanliness schedule
- Maintain department ascetics and functionality
*Qualifications & Requirements:
- 2+ years of related hydrocarbon experience
- 2+ years of management experience
- Strong communication skills
- Experience working with Google Suite and Excel
- Strong knowledge of cannabis, particularly extraction & concentrates
- Ability to work extended hours and non-traditional schedule as required
