Our principals have significant experience investing in healthcare, consumer products, and regulated markets. We have been actively focused on the cannabis industry since 2015 and have recently added a new partner for Ethos Cannabis who has experience developing and leading a successful and respected cannabis operator in the U.S.
Position Summary / Objective:
The Inventory Manager is responsible for managing medical cannabis goods and delivery, from ordering supplies, to managing vendor relations, inventory audits, and any internal inventory issues. The inventory manager will be our on-site inventory expert who is responsible for tracking/auditing all physical plant counts using the seed to sale tracking system ( METRC software).. We are seeking a passionate, driven, detailed-oriented and collaborative applicant to oversee daily inventory of the cultivation facility, in compliance with state and local rules and regulations, and who will maintain inventory, conduct audits, and manage daily inspections of the facility. The ideal candidate has the ability to adapt to our business model and has demonstrated leadership experience, as he or she will be given significant responsibility over managing inventory with the launch of our Fitchburg cultivation site. Previous cannabis retail experience is required.
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities
Overseeing All Inventory / Plant Counts within Entire Facility
- Auditing all plant counts (immature plants, flowering plants, harvested plants) within cultivation rooms to ensure plant counts remain accurate within METRC system at all times
- Maintaining inventory control and ensuring accurate weights of all finished products
- Organizes/compiles data for all harvest batches/ wholesale products
- Inspecting and reviewing cultivation and production records to confirm that no errors have occurred
or, if errors have occurred, that they have been fully investigated and resolved
- Overseeing the ordering of all cultivation supplies/equipment to ensure the facility is always stocked
- Facilitating calls with Suppliers, Supply Chain Operations and the Retail Organization to facilitate supply continuity and resolution
Laboratory and Product Testing
- Interfacing with the third party Laboratory testing partnership, process and results. Ensuring product test results and records are reviewed and maintained

Overseeing Quality Control / Packaging of Finished Products / Wholesale Products
- Working closely with the Post Harvest Manager to ensure all finished products are weighed/labeled correctly and packaged into desired container amounts
- Ensuring all packages are created correctly and compliantly and prepared for transportation
- Overseeing quality control of all finished/packaged products to ensure quality standards for our customers
Transportation of Finished Products
- Overseeing all aspects of the transportation process including weighing, packaging and testing
- Ensuring each transportation transaction is done compliantly, confirming all steps of transport are recorded and logged
- Working closely with the Director of Retail to source third party products for the dispensaries while also managing our inhouse inventory in preparation for distribution
- Shipping and receiving of all inhouse/wholesale products
- Following up on all incoming and outgoing transports through communication with labs/wholesalers/ transportation agents
State Inspections / Meetings with State Regulators / Maintaining Security Documentation
- Working with the Director of Cultivation who coordinates with state regulators/inspectors for facility walkthroughs/inspections
- Ensuring compliance by maintaining accurate records of all harvest batches/finished products, transport manifests and packaging records
- Performing a series of planned and unplanned in-process inspection procedures
- Understanding state regulations and their implications for operation
- Updating standard operating procedures to reflect company practices and state regulations
Production Planning
- Contributing to the organizing/planning of all future production activities, including which products are designated to which storefronts
- Working closely with the Director of Retail and the Director of Cultivation on helping facilitate which products reach which storefront while also maintaining strong and active relationships with our wholesale vendors
Qualifications:
Education:
- College degree is strongly preferred
Work Experience : (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in warehouse management, inventory control or related area
- Experience as Assistant Inventory Manager or Inventory Manager in retail dispensary is preferred
- METRC Training is preferred
- Considerable exposure to retail cultures focused on well-developed standard operating procedures and management and employee training programs
- Experience in inventory management and reconciliation
Capabilities and Skills::
- Cannabis experience and knowledge preferred
- Excellent analytical and reporting skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of computer and office equipment and programs; proficiency in computer usage including retail point-of-sale software, MS Office applications (MS Office Word, Excel and Outlook), scheduling software, and more
- Excellent time-management skills; ability to effectively plan and prioritize
- Extensive math skills required for inventory, projections, measurements, and calculations
- Skilled in managing physical resources, including budgeting, inventories, equipment, materials
- Ability to focus; attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving skills including anticipatory thinking and the ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a calm composure
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with absolute reliability and honesty; high level of integrity and strong work ethic
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with team members and state officials
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
- Exceptional team player with strong communication and people skills
- Demonstrated ability to work comfortably and effectively within a diverse, multicultural, multigenerational environment
Other Requirements:
- Extended time sitting, walking, bending, and reaching is possible
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for a distance of 100 feet
- Must pass stringent background test requirements of Massachusetts
- Minimum of 21 years of age
- Possess valid driver’s license or state ID card; authorized to work in the U.S.
Compensation:
- Approximately $60,000 - $80,000 annual salary
This position is classified as Exempt and is not eligible for overtime pay.
