Job Description:
The Packaging Technician is responsible for the safe and accurate packaging and labeling of all products. Working within a team environment, the Packaging Technician maintains the chain of integrity of our premium cannabis products from processing to patient.
Responsibilities:
- Performs accurate filling, packaging and labeling of all products ensuring compliance with company, local and state policies and procedures and product specifications.
- Follows Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) to ensure the safety and efficacy of all products.

Ensure daily production schedule and goals set by Production Manager/Team Leads are met.
- Maintains high level of cleanliness of all packaging equipment, production areas and sanitation practices concerning handling of product according to company procedures; reports any potential contamination to a Team Lead immediately.
- Documents line inefficiencies and downtime to identify issues. Works in conjunction with others to resolve them in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance department to ensure that process parameters and quality testing is completed in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all production records, quality records and electronic reporting tools.
- Assists in fostering a positive work environment, treating everyone with dignity and respect while perpetuating a curiosity for “everything cannabis”.
Qualifications:
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong desire to produce a high-quality product
- Must meet hygiene and quality controls at all times
- Must be able to meet production goals within an established timeline
- Must be 21 years of age or older as required by the Pennsylvania Department of Health
- Able to pass all background checks as mandated by Pennsylvania Department of Health
- Must be comfortable with a high level of responsibility
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in a high-volume production facility/continuous production line
- Familiarity with multiple packaging technologies such as automated flow-wrapping, bottle filling, blister packing, backer carding and heat shrinking equipment
- Experience working in a regulated environment
- Experience in commercial food/medical production or clean room processes
- Experience in labeling rules and regulations
Working Conditions:
- The person in this position may be exposed to dust, kief, cleaning chemicals and fumes. Although systems are in place to remove these byproducts, there is still exposure to some degree.
- Must be able to work on weekends or alternate shifts
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting, standing and walking motion/movement will be required throughout the shift
- Constant movement of hands/fingers and limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina
- Constantly operates packaging machinery and other productivity equipment
- Must be able to inspect and detect quality defects
- Occasional lifting, positioning or moving items up to 50 pounds

The Director of Production oversees production operations, under the guidance of the Director of Operations. This role is responsible for ensuring each department meet their monthly/quarterly/yearly production goals. The Director of Production ensures timely delivery of goods to the market and ensures the quality standards of the company are maintained at every level of production. Due to the hands-on nature of cannabis production, the Director of Production must be able to lead by example. The Director of Production oversees production operations, under the guidance of the Director of Operations. The Trimmer is primarily responsible for the efficiency and quality of the cannabis plant trimming of in preparation for distribution. This position will perform the trimming (manicuring) operations which includes; hand trimming, machine trimming, and live plant manicuring.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Director of Production oversees production operations, under the guidance of the Director of Operations. This role is responsible for ensuring each department meet their monthly/quarterly/yearly production goals. The Director of Production ensures timely delivery of goods to the market and ensures the quality standards of the company are maintained at every level of production. Due to the hands-on nature of cannabis production, the Director of Production must be able to lead by example. This role works closely with the Head of Cultivation, Head of Inventory & Logistics, Director of Wholesale, Finance and reports directly to the Director of Operations.
RESPONSIBILITES:
Departmental Oversight:
Extractions, MIP’s, Packaging, Testing & Lab Relations, Product Development
- Maintains clear and consistent communication with department heads
- Bridges gaps in departmental process and issues directives with clear goals for success
- Measures success and areas of improvement and shares results with department heads on a regular basis
- Ensures all staffing goals are met in each department and monitors any potential retention risks in real time
- Understands and monitors expected yields and outputs by department
- Works directly with the Head of Cultivation and Head Grower to ensure all company SOP’s are being followed and KPI’s are met on a consistent basis
Production Planning and Product Development
- Works with Director of Wholesale & Purchasing to plan and execute monthly production goals.
- Ensures proper par levels of cannabis products and supplies are maintained in each department and conducts regular checks on costing where necessary
- Works with finance to maintain all COGS and provides input on product pricing to the Sales team
- Tracks and reviews processing logs to ensure production accuracy at all levels
- Directly oversees project management team responsible for product development
- Maintains high-level relationships with all VIP vendors
- Ensures Lab team executes testing samples in an efficient manner and communicates any potential impacts on production planning/goals
Production Efficiency, Compliance & Workplace Safety Oversight
- Automation and process flow champion
- Requests, manages and tracks regular efficiency time studies in each production department (as needed) to ensure the facility maintains a cutting edge standard
- Works closely with the Facilities Manager to ensure scheduling of routine maintenance for building and equipment; along with ensuring all safety protocols are being enforced
- Ensures all SOP’s are updated and maintained by department
- Works with compliance team to state current on all CCC regulations pertaining to production
- Trains and maintains compliance standards with METRC by department
QUALIFICATIONS
- Preferred - Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the cannabis industry with a focus on production planning, product development and personnel management or equivalent experience in a Production environment.
- Proven track record of operating in a highly regulated industry; specific understanding of PA compliance regulations.
- Preferred proficiency in the following technical areas: METRC, Leaf Logics, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Sheets, Project Management software.
- Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or commensurate experience in the cannabis industry.
- Must be 21 years of age or older as required by the PA Cannabis Commission.

Ayr is looking for Cultivation Technicians to work in our cultivation facility help set up and build a company that continues to help consumers to live their best lives.
Join the team in Pennsylvania as we venture to open new avenues in the Medical Marijuana space.

Responsibilities:
- Assists in all aspects of cultivation operations including trellising, pruning, spacing and overall canopy management.
- Ensures daily production schedule and goals set by Cultivation Manager/Team Leads are met.
- Completes proper transplanting techniques including substrate mixing, container filling and transplanting.
- Assists in the setup, monitoring and maintenance of irrigation systems and environmental controls.
- Performs plant destruction and plant waste destruction in compliance with Company, local and state policies.
- Accountable for accurate tracking and logging of all plants by utilizing the inventory tracking systems in compliance with Company, local and state policies.
- Maintains a high level of cleanliness of all Cultivation Equipment, Rooms and areas as well as sanitation practices concerning handling of plants according to Company procedure.
- Assists in fostering a positive work environment, treats everyone with dignity and respect, while perpetuating a curiosity for “everything cannabis”.
Qualifications:
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong desire to produce a high-quality product.
- Able to demonstrate sound judgement and problem solving.
- Must be 21 years of age or older as required by the Pennsylvania Cannabis Control Board
- Able to pass all background checks as mandated by Pennsylvania Cannabis Control Board.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience working in agriculture/horticulture, packing houses, general production/retail greenhouses.
- Familiarity with Good Agricultural Practices/Good Handling Practices (GAP/GHP).
- Experience working in a regulated environment with a regulated and tracked substance.
- Experience working in a trade or in a manufacturing facility.
- Familiarity with WHO Guidelines for Medicinal Crops.
- Experience working with power tools and materials such as PEX, PVC, EMT, etc.
Working Conditions:
- The person in this position may be exposed to dust, kief, cleaning chemicals and fumes. Although systems are in place to remove these byproducts, there is still exposure to some degree.
- Frequently works in rooms with bright light where eye protection is required.
- Frequently works in rooms with moderate heat and humidity.
- The person in this position is constantly exposed to moderate background noise due to environmental systems, equipment and fans.
- Must be able to work on weekends or alternate shifts.
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting, standing and walking motion/movement will be required throughout the shift.
- Constant movement of hands/fingers and limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina.
- Constantly positions self throughout task at hand.
- Frequently ascends/descends a ladder to inspect/maintain plants.
- Occasionally operates power hand tools and other cultivation machinery.
- Must be able to inspect and detect quality deviations and defects.
- Occasional lifting, positioning or moving items up to 100 pounds.

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Cultivators assist in the horticulture production of cannabis. Those responsibilities include plant care, watering, trimming, manicuring, harvesting, and propagation. Scouting, sanitation, and organization are an integral part of this position.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Helps monitor plants for optimum crop quality, climate, and yield
- Assists in planting, transplanting, watering, fertilizing, spraying, manicuring, cloning, harvesting, and testing
- Input documentation into crop production software
- Performs preventative maintenance at the direction of the Cultivation Manager
- Monitor/control computerized greenhouse environments
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform all duties in accordance with the company policies and established procedures
- Interact with other departments in problems solving ideas
- Maintain clean work area and adhere to sanitation standards on a regular basis
CORE COMPETENCIES:
Knowledgeable in the area of hydroponics, plant development and commercial farming. Possesses strong communication skills, planning and organizing ability, problem solving and attention to detail. Ability to excel in a fast paced, start-up environment. Possesses basic computer skills –including; Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point. Demonstrated ability to manage people and processes.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
- BS or AS in Horticulture/Floriculture/Biology or related field or currently working towards degree (Preferred)

Experience to include controlled environment or greenhouse growing
- Master Gardeners certificate
- Pennsylvania Pesticide Certification will need to be taken within 60 days of employment
Additional Requirements
- Must be 21 years or older
- Must pass any and all required background checks
- Must possess valid driver's license or state ID
- Must be and remain compliant with all legal and company regulations for working in the industry
- Must be able to lift, carry, and balance up to 30 pounds (100 pounds with assistance). This job function may include walking or standing for extended periods of time, as well as stooping, bending over, and/or crouching.
