- Assisting the Cost Accounting Manager in day-to-day, monthly, and year-end operations of the Accounting/Finance Department

- Plan, study, and collect data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor
- Analyze data collected and record results

Summary
The Cost Accountant at Wyld will be responsible for the accurate statement of the company’s product cost, gross margin, and inventory in the monthly financial statements. The position will also be responsible for reconciliations of inventory between any third parties’ records, and our own. This role will work collaboratively across many facilities, many different operations teams, technology, and the broader finance and accounting departments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following
- Maintain accurate costing of all products, including materials’ costs, calculations of labor, and freight
- Ensures month-end financial reporting of inventory and cost of goods sold is accurate
- Organizes and supervises annual inventory counts, as well as periodic cycle counts, and reconciliations of all inventory balances
- Provides analysis and understanding of variances in the standard costing accounts
- Develops and maintains operations scorecards
- Prepares product cost information for new and existing products for pricing review
- Assists with the annual audit procedures related to inventory and costing
- Working closely with dispersed manufacturing and distribution facilities to set best practices for inputs
- Collaborate with business systems / technology teams to build scalable processes for tracking costs
- Participate in various projects and ad-hoc reporting as needed

Responsibilities:
- Manage month-end close process in terms of inventory and cost of goods sold across the Western Region of Arizona. As well as ensure the preparation of the month-end calculations for inventory and biological assets
- Work cross-functionally with operations and IT for the determining of biomass and inventory reconciliations and to review and dispose of obsolete inventory, and other projects as necessary
- Work with the financial reporting team for the impact of the inventory and biological assets on the financial statements and financial disclosures
- Review standard and actual costs and work to improve and implement standard cost estimates
- Obtain a strong understanding of the company’s ERP system including functionality, costing processes, and integration with the general ledger
- Analyze and report on margins, COGS and inventory (obsolete inventory, scrap, yield, raw material/supply costs) on a monthly, and ad-hoc basis. As well as, monitor and improve internal controls over inventory, inventory reserves and manufacturing processes
- Establish and coordinate physical inventory and cycle counting process
- Investigate cycle counting variances and resolve issues, tracing back to underlying activities
- Oversee month-end close responsibilities including, but not limited to journal entry preparation and review, reconciliation review and variance analysis
- Manage a group of Cost Accountants and Inventory Analysts
- Proactively lead cost savings initiatives with the operations team

Qualifications:

The role of the Cost Accountant is to maintain inventory cost records, assist in preparing financial reports and reconcile physical inventory to accounting. The Cost Accountant will run accounting software programs (e.g. QBO, SOS) to process vendor transactions, and assist in accounts payable and receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers and receipts. We are looking for a Cost Accountant to join Curaleaf's cost accounting team in the finance department. You will be responsible for performing cost analyses along with month close activities and monthly reporting package. As the ideal candidate, you will need to possess excellent analytical, communication and technology skills along with the ability to analyze, combine and present data from multiple sources. Our ideal candidate should also be able to create and communicate effective reports that will drive cost reduction solutions for our company. Ultimately, you will communicate cost information to maximize profitability for our company.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance of corporate Cost Accounting methodology and procedures
- Oversight of periodic inventory counts and maintenance of inventory processes and controls
- Collaborate with the Cultivation team to understand full grow process in-depth.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams understand accurate bill of materials as well as in depth knowledge of the full production process
- Ensure accurate coding of expenses to COGS accounts on the P&L
- Reconcile inventory timely as part of the month close process
- Streamline inventory procedures and maintain consistent reports
- Analyze cost absorption and perform variance analysis monthly
- Managing and reconciling inter-company inventory transactions
- Compile month-end reporting around costing, inventory, standard COGS and operational activities
- Assistance with New ERP implementation as needed

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 2-5 years' experience

Job Description
We are manufacturing and production experts. We are looking to bring our finance and accounting team to the next level with a strategic hire to help us gain market efficiencies and make strong, informed decisions in all stages of our business. The role will be multi-faceted in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. The Cost Accountant will act as point of contact between the different parts of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and external parties, such as vendors, clients, or lenders. They may handle bookkeeping duties, assist in preparing financial reports, taxes, and audits, and resolving discrepancies. You should be ethical, thorough, and attentive with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Gather and interpret information to evaluate the efficiency of financial procedures.
- Responsibilities include preparing entries, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations
- Work is of a confidential nature and requires some analysis and preparation of reports with recommended actions
- Prepare journal entries & monthly/year-end closing of books, bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to solve any discrepancies, and assist with audit preparation
- Comfortable reviewing financial statements; Ad Hoc reporting as needed
- Enter new vendors, ensure proper documentation, W-9s, payment terms
- General accounts receivable and accounts payable tasks throughout the normal operation of business
- Analyze key financial data and advise senior management on strategic planning
- Manage all aspects of data input tables including but not limited to bill of materials, routings, component details, ingredient purchase and use, product recipes, labor, volume targets, etc.
- Provide reliable costing data to support cost savings initiatives, promote production efficiency, and optimized buying opportunities related to quantity, freight, and sourcing
- Provide intuitive reports and analysis to all necessary departments to improve business decisions
- Research and analyze costing inquiries and provide analysis to eliminate future problems and cost discrepancies
- Participate in the improvement of the current cost setting process to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Develop and implement cost-effective financial policies and procedures, as well as mitigating financial risks
- Prepare financial reports and budgets, as well as controlling and forecasting income and expenditure
- Oversee accounting procedures and potential to supervise junior financial department staff as well as external consultants
- Monitor auditing and taxation practices, as well as evaluating benefits and compensation packages
- Ensure that financial management policies and procedures adhere to regulatory standards
- Perform financial recordkeeping, as well as protecting sensitive and confidential information
- Keep informed of regulatory requirements and best practices in management accounting
Experience and Requirements
- Proven experience as a corporate accountant, management accountant, audit, accounting supervisor, or similar role (3-5 years minimum)
- Solid knowledge of basic and advanced accounting and financial principles and practices
- Excellent knowledge of cost accounting and reporting, risk analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
- Highly proficient in QuickBooks, Excel, Sage, and MS Office
- Analytical mind with aptitude in math
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- A problem-solver with a high attention to detail
- Organizational and leadership skills
- BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance, or similar field
- Relevant certification, CPA / CMA, strongly preferred
- Minimum of 21 years of age
- Must pass criminal background check and drug screening (excludes THC)
- Must be compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the Cannabis industry
- Highly developed organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities and work demands
- Good oral and/or written communication skills

Position Summary:
Fluresh is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join our finance and accounting team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Cost Accountant will be responsible for the development on standard costing and will work to implement or improve the financial systems and data used to support cultivation and manufacturing processes. - Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided to determine effects on cost
- Validate the cost of goods sold as part of a standard costing system during the close process
- Assist with inventory observations and cycle count programs with facility managers, suppliers, and external auditors
- Work with the Controller to development financial models for each facility
- Assist wtih the month-end & year-end close process
- Investigate significant trends/variances for cost reduction regarding material, labor, overhead, and other types of costs related to manufacturing products
- Assist with implementation of the ERP and other reporting tools
- Work cross-functionally with operations on various projects designed to increase through-put, decrease costs and increase efficiencies.
- Understand and articulate operational issues and their impact in order to assist with operational decision making
- Evaluate and improve business controls impacting manufacturing and inventory
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of production/harvest cycle planner and other cultivation and manfucturing KPIs
- Work cross-functionally with company departments and external partners

Required Experience, Education, and Skills
- 1 to 2 years of cost accounting experience is a MUST
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time. Travel is initially limited to Michigan.

Responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced Senior Cost Accountant that will perform daily analysis for the cultivation and processing of our plants and finished products. The Senior Cost Accountant will be an integral member of our management team. This position requires strong technology skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems. As a key member of our Finance team, you will maintain cost accounting systems and procedures as well as strategies by analyzing complex data and trends.
What You’ll Accomplish
- Collect and analyze data from Autumn Brands operational costs
- Setting standard costs for cultivated plants and manufactured goods
- Developing and analyzing cost standards
- Cost volume profit analysis
- Establish costs for our connected departments (growing, processing, packaging) and associated entities
- Team up with Operations to manage inventory reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain Financial Control over inventories, to include leading the monthly and annual physical inventory count and reconciliation process
- Prepare audit reports and present them to the CFO
- Support month-end, quarter end, and year-end closing
- Complete Financial Statement Analysis including month end journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts and analyzing variances.
- Recommend changes to our processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Executive Team
- Provide oversight for internal Bookkeeper

We are looking for a Cost Accountant to join Curaleaf's finance department and manage the cost accounting for the central region. You will be responsible for performing cost analyses along with month close activities and monthly reporting. As the ideal candidate, you will need to possess excellent analytical, communication and technology skills along with the ability to analyze, combine and present data from multiple sources. Our ideal candidate should also be able to create and communicate effective reports that will drive cost reduction solutions for our company. We are a multi-entity, multi-location organization and being able to juggle multiple projects at once will be vital to success. Ultimately, you will build updated databases, and manage and communicate cost information to maximize profitability for our company.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance of corporate Cost Accounting methodology and procedures, implementing such procedures in central region reporting and ensuring compliance.
- Oversight of periodic inventory counts and development of inventory processes and controls
- Collaborate with the Cultivation team to understand full grow process in-depth
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to develop accurate bill of materials as well as in depth understanding of the full process
- Ensure accurate coding of expenses to COGS accounts on the P&L
- Reconcile inventory timely as part of the month close process
- Streamline inventory procedures and maintain consistent reports
- Analyze and ensure accurate coding of cost of goods sold
- Analyze cost absorption and perform variance analysis monthly
- Managing and reconciling inter-company inventory transactions
- Compile month-end reporting around costing and operational activities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 3-5 years' experience
- Must have a cost accounting background working in a manufacturing environment
- Must have the ability to manage and analyze large data sets
- Must have excellent Excel skills
- Experience implementing an ERP a plus, Microsoft Dynamics and/or NAV experience a plus
- Experience in cannabis industry and valuing biological assets a plus
- Preference is to have worked in an environment with multiple operating units
- Strong understanding of costing methods
- CPA/CMA is a plus, not a requirement for this role

About This Role
We are looking for a Fixed Asset/Cost Accountant who will be responsible for working seamlessly with people across the organization to ensure accurate financial control and reporting across the enterprises supply chain and all of our cultivation and retail stores. As we are a fast-growing start-up company, some design and setup of our processes is required.
As with everyone at Common Citizen, our Fixed Asset/Cost Accountant is expected to contribute to the Common Citizen movement to end the stigma and liberate all people through cannabis.
This position will be based in Marshall, MI. Some travel may be required to meet with members of the retail team at our dispensaries.
What You Will Be Doing
Fixed Asset Accounting:
- Create and monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms for the recordation of fixed assets.
- Recommend to management any updates to accounting policies related to fixed assets.
- Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system.
- Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed.
- Reconcile the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary-level account in the general ledger.
- Calculate depreciation for all fixed assets.
- Review and update the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation.
- Calculate asset retirement obligations for those fixed assets to which AROs are applicable.
- Investigate the potential obsolescence of fixed assets.
- Conduct periodic impairment reviews for intangible assets.
- Conduct periodic physical counts of fixed assets.
- Recommend to management whether fixed assets should be disposed of.
- Conduct analyses related to fixed assets as requested by management.
- Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets and assist the auditors in their inquiries.
- Prepare property tax returns.
- Track company expenditures for fixed assets in comparison to the capital budget and management authorizations.
Cost Accounting:
- Establishing, communicating and constantly refining policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems
- Prepare monthly journal entries
- Review JEs carefully for anomalies and other inconsistencies
- Prepare monthly and quarterly accounting reports for submission to management
- Conduct inventory reserve analysis on a quarterly basis and generate reports for senior management
- Assist the Finance Captain with suggesting changes to policies or procedures to increase cash flow
- Review rates of depreciation, labor and overhead and suggest policy changes to improve numbers
- Classify costs accurately
- Generate PPV reports and analyze findings
- Establish standard costs and update them as appropriate
- Maintain and review the general ledger and reconcile balance sheets
- Analyze costs of raw materials and other supplies and create cost-benefit analyses for changing vendors
The Experience You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in an accounting role
- Manufacturing, agricultural, distribution, or consumer packaged goods experience is preferred
- Experience with inter-company activity, consolidations, inventory management, and taxes is preferred
- Strong understanding of US GAAP
- Experience working with a variety of legal and regulatory entities
- Experience working with financial software to manage company finances.
- Ability to explain complex or technical financial subjects to a non-technical audience

The Cost Accountant will work under the direction of the Regional Controller and the Corporate Controller to carry out the fiscal accounting functions of the corporation in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate within the industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Inventory reconciliations for multiple locations including reviewing adjustments, reconcile to the subledger and assist with observations of period and annual inventory audit and physical counts.
- Reconcile inventory and suggest controls and procedures for assuring continued accuracy improvement.
- Ensure accurate capture and coding of WIP and Cost of Goods Sold related to cultivation and manufactured products.
- Partner with the Controller to formulate and continuously enhance accurate costing methodologies, including suggestion for improving yields and reducing costs.
- Build databases to collect and analyze costs in order to communicate and suggest improvements in order to maximize overall company profitability.
- Prepare inventory reserve analysis.
- Prepare timely variance analysis to be presented to Corporate Controller and CFO.
- Prepare for and support annual and periodic audits performed by external auditors and Arizona Department of Health Services.
- Assist with annual budgeting process.
- Assist Controller in setting up cost accounting for new sites.
- Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time-to-time.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 21 years of age and authorized to work in the US.
- Proper employment documentation; reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
- If necessary, ability to work 7 days per week and to be flexible with schedule.
- Must be able to pass a thorough FBI background check as required to work in the regulated medical marijuana industry in the State of Arizona. All team members must also maintain fingerprint cards and be eligible to obtain Dispensary Agent cards.
- Environmental Requirements and Exposure, depending on work location:
- Exposure to fertilizer, dusts, odors, high heat, low temperature, high and low humidity, high noise levels, vibrations, water, dry salts, allergens, pollen, dust, plant pathogens, other volatile organic compounds, and other environmental variables.
- This job operates in a clerical office setting inside of a cultivation facility. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
- 3-5 years of required experience.

The Cost Accountant will work under the direction of the Regional Controller and the Corporate Controller to carry out the fiscal accounting functions of the corporation in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate within the industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Inventory reconciliations for multiple locations including reviewing adjustments, reconcile to the subledger and assist with observations of period and annual inventory audit and physical counts.
- Reconcile inventory and suggest controls and procedures for assuring continued accuracy improvement.
- Ensure accurate capture and coding of WIP and Cost of Goods Sold related to cultivation and manufactured products.
- Partner with the Controller to formulate and continuously enhance accurate costing methodologies, including suggestion for improving yields and reducing costs.
- Build databases to collect and analyze costs in order to communicate and suggest improvements in order to maximize overall company profitability.
- Prepare inventory reserve analysis.
- Prepare timely variance analysis to be presented to Corporate Controller and CFO.
- Prepare for and support annual and periodic audits performed by external auditors and Arizona Department of Health Services.
- Assist with annual budgeting process.
- Assist Controller in setting up cost accounting for new sites.
- Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time-to-time.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 21 years of age and authorized to work in the US.
- Proper employment documentation; reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
- If necessary, ability to work 7 days per week and to be flexible with schedule.
- Must be able to pass a thorough FBI background check as required to work in the regulated medical marijuana industry in the State of Arizona. All team members must also maintain fingerprint cards and be eligible to obtain Dispensary Agent cards.
- Environmental Requirements and Exposure, depending on work location:
- Exposure to fertilizer, dusts, odors, high heat, low temperature, high and low humidity, high noise levels, vibrations, water, dry salts, allergens, pollen, dust, plant pathogens, other volatile organic compounds, and other environmental variables.
- This job operates in a clerical office setting inside of a cultivation facility. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
- 3-5 years of required experience.
- NetSuite experience a definite plus.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- Cost Accounting experience is required

We are looking for a Cost Accountant to join Curaleaf's finance department. You'll be responsible for performing cost analyses and preparing budget reports. As the ideal candidate, you will need to possess excellent analytical, communication and technology skills along with the ability to analyze, combine and present data from multiple sources. Our ideal candidate should also be able to create and communicate effective reports that will drive cost reduction solutions for our company. Ultimately, you will build updated databases, and manage and communicate cost information to maximize profitability for our company.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Corporate Cost Accounting team to enhance the costing methodology
- Oversight of periodic inventory counts and development of inventory processes and controls
- Collaborate with the manufacturing teams to develop accurate bill of materials of manufactured products
- Ensure accurate capture and coding of cost of goods sold related to cultivation and manufactured products
- Reconcile inventory timely as part of the month close process
- Streamline inventory procedures and create consistent reports
- Review costing and measure results and compare to budget
- Communicate with purchasing on material requirements
- Analyze cost absorption and performing variance analysis
- Provide recommendations to management on improving yields, reducing costs, and increasing efficiencies
- Managing and reconciling inter-company inventory transactions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 3-5 years' experience
- Must have a cost accounting background working in a manufacturing environment
- Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred, not required
- NAV experience a plus
- Experience implementing an ERP a plus
- Must have the ability to manage and analyze large data sets
- Excellent Excel skills
- Preference is to have worked in an environment with multiple operating units
- Strong understanding of costing methods

The PositionWe are looking for an experienced Cost Accountant to join our finance team. The Cost Accountant is responsible for the reduction of a company's financial waste and increasing profits. Duties include determining actual costs of manufacturing or providing a service, scrutinizing associated company expenses, analyzing profitability and preparing the company budget.
The Responsibilities
· Responsible for preparing daily/weekly/monthly compilation of key performance indicators for management review (e.g. materials, labor, overhead, variances, yields, and others as needed).
· Responsible for preparing monthly and year-end closing journal entries for recording and allocating direct and indirect costs in accordance with Section 280E of the IRC.
· Responsible for preparing and posting month-end inventory account reconciliations for cultivation centers and retail stores.
· Responsible for retail contribution margin review and associated implications on the sales mix for retail locations.
· Responsible for assisting in the accurate and timely preparation of financial reports.
· Responsible for performing variance analyses of direct labor, material usage variance, purchase price variances, overhead expenses, and harvest yields for the cultivation center and retail stores
· Responsible for monitoring and reporting progress of cultivation-related capital projects and general fixed assets accounting.
· Responsible for tracking margin variances for R&D project harvest yields.
· Responsible for assisting in the implementation and maintenance of cannabis-specific cloud-based ERP and standard cost system.
· Responsible for performing review of cultivation-related inventory cycle count adjustments and weekly and monthly inventory reconciliations.
· Responsible for assisting with the annual cultivation inventory observation.
· Assist with the identification of operation levers to improve cost per pound and other metrics
The Qualifications
· Bachelor’s in accounting or finance from a 4-year institution
· Understanding of absorption based costing and standard costing
· 1-2 years’ experience in manufacturing environment as a staff accountant or cost accountant
· Understanding of procure to pay practices within an ERP system
· Detail oriented with the ability to think outside the box
· Ability to solve problems once they are identified
