JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct inspections and enforce business and regulatory license codes throughout the city of Seattle. Regulated industries including Short Term Rentals, Cannabis, Taxi and Transportation Network Company operators, Pawnshops, Adult Entertainment, Private Property Impound and more.
Conduct periodic inspections and tests on commercial weighing and measuring devices (fuel dispensers, scales, fuel delivery trucks, and taxi meters); check accuracy of price scanning systems at retail stores; inspect packaged goods for accurate net contents declarations, proper method of sale declarations, and complete and accurate product labels.
Investigate business and commercial activities for violations of business license and tax requirements. Contact and/or visit businesses as needed to ensure compliance. Issue notices, citations, and criminal complaints when needed for violations of the code.
Communicate with and educate local business owners and the public about regulatory requirements; complete daily work logs and periodic activity reports; develop and present cases to the Law Department and testify as a witness on behalf of the City. Inspectors strive for voluntary compliance through outreach and education, but also issue citations with monetary penalties and license actions, and/or file criminal complaints for code violations.
Weekend and evening work may include teamwork with other departments and agencies with visits to nightclubs, bars, adult entertainment establishments, musical festivals, and mobile vending businesses. Noise code enforcement may include taking decibel readings using a certified Type II Sound Meter in response to noise complaints.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
This position requires at least two (2) years of code interpretation and enforcement or full-time work experience in credit and collections, or other fields directly related to business management and code compliance.
(Or a combination of education and/or training and/or experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class.)

Duties Description
Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Perform post-accidents inspections, testify at hearings when required and keep records and submitted reports of inspections.
- Enforce driver, vehicle and hazardous materials regulations.
- Perform duties independently without direct supervision and be responsible for scheduling your own work and adhering to your own timetable. However, workload will be assigned by the supervisor.

This position requires extensive daily travel within an assigned geographic area. Specifically, FSAH has two principal purposes: 1) Food Safety-to assure Oregon citizens a safe, wholesome, properly labeled, and protected food supply. The Food Safety Program is responsible for administering ten separate statutes that regulate food, dairy, meat, and shellfish industries and their production and distribution. Staff inspect about 7,000 food establishments with over 12,000 licenses and sample food products throughout the state of Oregon. These establishments include bakeries, retail grocery stores, warehouses, food & dairy processing plants, beverage plants, dairy farms, meat operations, cannabis, eggs, pet food, shellfish growers & processors, and locker plants. 2) Animal Health programs include the Feed Program, which ensures the quality of all animal feeds marketed in Oregon through a rigorous testing program.
The Animal Health Laboratory is responsible for all diagnostic testing for animal diseases, which may affect the Oregon food supply. 3) The State Veterinarian for the State of Oregon is the chief livestock disease control official. The State Veterinarian provides leadership in addressing Oregon's animal health concerns and fulfills the Program's statutory disease control responsibilities. The Animal Health Program analyzes, develops, implements, and maintains services, which assure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, and monitors the services provided to the various industry groups and citizens of Oregon. The State Veterinarian is also responsible for effective communication with the livestock industry, the consuming public, and the veterinary profession. Additionally, this position oversees emergency response during disasters involving animals of this state and oversees Animal Health Laboratory operations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
A food safety inspector will work in food, dairy, and shellfish facilities licensed by the Food Safety Program. This position will inspect food establishments and their equipment for compliance with state and federal laws, investigate consumer complaints and food borne illnesses, ensure egg quality, apply Oregon drinking water standards, and food packaging labels for compliance with regulations to ensure a safe, wholesome, and properly labeled food supply. The types of activities include licensing, inspection, sampling, and education of food establishments to control and improve food safety and food handling practices. In this position you will traverse over wet floors, climb ladders, crawl under, over and around equipment and machinery. You will be required to safely and appropriately lift packages, equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds. You will be exposed to livestock, animal waste, loud noises, extreme temperatures and inclement conditions. You will be required to drive a state-owned vehicle for all work-related travel.

Additional Requirements
Natural Resource Specialist 3 (Food Safety Inspector) works primarily in the field, and is based in either a home office or a regional office. Nevertheless, a NRS3 is primarily responsible for planning individual work schedules, including travel and the amount and type of work performed on any given day. Many inspections must be performed within a defined period of time. A NRS3 is required to meet all deadlines established by State and Federal laws, by the Department, by the Program, and by individual managers and supervisors. Inspectors are also responsible for maintaining and operating an assigned state vehicle including all State-provided equipment. This position requires some overnight travel.
Special Requirements
Must be registered as an Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) or Environmental Health Specialist Trainee by the State Board of Registered Environmental Health Specialists, Health Licensing Division. Must be able to perform all duties in a self-directed work environment with minimal supervision. Must have a current Oregon driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

We are seeking an individual to perform medical marijuana organization facility inspections for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Field inspections require initiative and independent judgment, as well as a thorough understanding of the medical marijuana program, the Act, regulations, and all guidance.
In this position, you will be home headquartered. - Executes "front-line" Quality Control (QC) inspections using pre-defined specification sheets and checklists.

MISSION STATEMENT
To be the nation's most citizen oriented, efficiently administered, state tax agency.
The Montana Department of Revenue administers over 40 state taxes, property appraisals, liquor and marijuana laws, and unclaimed property for the state of Montana. The Cannabis Control Division is responsible for the licensing, regulating and enforcement of the marijuana laws of Montana.
DUTIES
The incumbent performs a variety of duties assigned by management. Duties include being responsible for regulatory oversight, education, and providing compliance services to licensees of the Cannabis Control Division. Primary duties include conducting inspections, investigations, providing technical assistance, sampling, and responding to complaints and statutory violations. This position receives general direction from the Inspector Supervisor, however, typically works independently in diverse and challenging work environments inspecting medical and adult use marijuana premises to assure compliance with State statutes, administrative rules, and local jurisdictional requirements. The position does not supervise other staff.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under the general administrative direction of a superior with wide latitude for the exercise of initiative and independent judgment; work is reviewed for conformance to laws, policies, rules and regulations.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Plans, directs and reviews the work of a staff engaged in the regulations, licensing and supervision of auto body repair shops and auto wrecking and salvage yards; and as related to the regulatory sections and units which comprise the Division of Commercial Licensing and Regulation in the Department of Business Regulation.

Required Qualifications for Appointment
KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND CAPACITIES: A thorough knowledge of the State Auto Body Repair Shop and Auto Wrecking and Salvage laws; and the ability to apply such knowledge in the administration of programs to enforce said laws; a thorough knowledge of state and other relevant consumer laws and regulations and the ability to interpret and apply such laws and regulations to insure the protection of public interest; a thorough knowledge of the statutes relating to false and/or misleading advertising; the ability to make field investigations and inspections; the ability to supervise and review the work of others engaged in investigatory and inspectional duties; the ability to prepare written reports; a thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques for the conduct of proper and thorough investigations; the ability to plan, supervise, and review the work of others; the ability to gather pertinent data in the preparation of written reports of violations; the ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with superiors, the general public and company representatives; and related capacities and abilities.

Supplemental Information
The Chief Public Protection Inspector will be a member of the inspection unit of the DBR Office of Cannabis Regulation. Work to be performed includes, without limitation, inspectional activities within the Office of Cannabis Regulation (Adult Use, Medical Marijuana and Industrial Hemp Programs) and related work as required. Qualified candidates should demonstrate experience in and familiarity with the inspection of premises and facilities in high-regulated industries. Knowledge of and familiarity with regulated cannabis markets in Rhode Island or other States is strongly preferred. Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience in and capabilities relating to managing a caseload of regulated and/or licensed businesses subject to regularly-recurring scheduled and non-scheduled inspections; documenting, tracking, and/or escalating findings and violations to supervisors and senior leadership; and where applicable, utilization of electronic software systems to coordinate, conduct, and document inspections.

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced professional to lead investigations and compliance efforts on behalf of the Office of Medical Cannabis at the Minnesota Department of Health. - SUMMARY:
MRB Inspectors work to ensure operating activities of medical marijuana businesses are conducted in a compliant manner in accordance with the state and federal regulation, as applicable. The Inspector will schedule and conduct inspections for licensed entities prescribed by law, along with other OMMA licensees as needed. Inspection types may include pre-site visits for prospective customers, bi-annual, follow up, and corrective action inspections and investigations. The MRB Inspector works with the bank's compliance team to perform compliance activities in assigned areas of responsibility, projects, and programs to ensure MRB's are operating in compliance with laws and regulations. The MRB Inspector is required to conduct inspections and report timely and accurately within the prescribed mechanism.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts inspection procedures for existing and new medical marijuana licensed growers, dispensaries, processors, and disposal services as required by federal regulations and state laws.
- Coordinates inspection activities at all points through the process - schedules, conducts and tracks compliance investigations and inspections.

Construction Inspector I is the lower level of the two inspector positions. a
C
ode Compliance Inspector I/II
with strong technical and customer service skills to be part of the Community Development team. This individual must be comfortable applying technical knowledge while following proper inspection techniques. The ideal candidate will have the ability to inspect and identify code and ordinance violations and determine the most effective method of alleviating violations, and must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. This person is able to investigate and resolve problems diplomatically and calmly, while thriving in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and able to work with accuracy and careful attention to detail. This position will be responsible for providing code enforcement relating to public health, nuisance abatement, code enforcement activities and related municipal enforcement activities.
Under direct supervision, Code Compliance Inspector I/II performs the full array of duties assigned to classes in the Code Compliance Inspector series including the investigation of potential violations of state and local public health and safety, and nuisance ordinances, codes and regulations and the enforcement, through mitigation and issuance of citations, of pertinent codes and ordinances; demonstrates a full understanding of all applicable policies, procedures and work methods associated with assigned duties; performs related duties as required.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
The
Code Compliance Inspector I is the entry-level position in the Code Compliance Inspector series. Initially under closer supervision, this class is responsible for the more routine and standardized investigations, inspections and enforcement activities. This classification is distinguished from the next higher classification of Code Compliance Inspector II by the performance of the more routine tasks.
The
Code Compliance Inspector II is the journey level class in the Code Compliance Inspector series responsible for performing the full range of investigations, inspections, and code enforcement of a variety of City ordinances relating to abandoned vehicles, business tax certificates, zoning requirements, nuisances, weed abatement, short term rentals, cannabis, etc. All positions assigned to this class require the ability to work independently, exercising judgment and initiative.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISED:
General supervision may be provided by higher-level code compliance personnel. Incumbents of this class do not routinely exercise supervision.
WORK SCHEDULE: The normal work week is Monday-Thursday, 8:00am - 6:00pm, and alternating Fridays, 8:00am - 5:00pm. The schedule also includes a monthly rotation of Saturday shifts. This position may be required to be available to work additional hours as needed to respond to workload needs. This position is eligible for overtime pay.
Essential Functions
(include but are not limited to the following)
- Investigates complaints of violations of ordinances, and/or codes relating to full range of investigations, inspections, and enforcement of a variety of City ordinances relating to abandoned vehicles, business tax certificates, zoning requirements, nuisances, weed abatement, short term rentals, cannabis, etc.
- Demonstrates a full understanding of applicable policies, procedures and work methods associated with assigned duties.
- Identifies abandon, illegally stored or inoperable vehicles and issues abatement citations; issues notice of violation and abatement.
- Enforces temporary use permit, business license (or business tax certificate) and related permit ordinances; inspects pertinent location for violations.
- Prepares, presents and defends infraction citations in court.
- Prepares, presents and defends administrative citations in hearings.
- Investigates instances of construction without required permits and illegal garage conversions, illegal subletting, violations of conditions of approval, illegal changes in use of property, illegal home occupancy and similar zoning violations.
- Assists in the weed abatement program including periodically inspecting property, issuing abatement notices, and overseeing abatements.
- Communicates effectively with customers and the general public, verbally and in writing, with excellent customer service skills.
- Prepares a variety of reports, memos, and correspondence; documents and maintains records of code enforcement activities; prepares and executes inspection and abatement warrants.
- Monitors, reviews and issues mooring permits in the inland waterway; inspects and enforces applicable codes pertaining to the inland waterways.
- Responds to questions and concerns from the general public; provides information as is appropriate and resolves complaints.
Minimum Qualifications
The following are minimal qualifications necessary for entry into the classification:
Education:
Graduation from an accredited college with an Associate's degree with major course work in engineering, business or public administration, or a closely related field..
Substitution:
- Additional related work experience may be substituted for the Associate's degree on a year for year basis.
- Sixty (60) semester units or the equivalent of college level coursework in engineering, business, or public administration may be substituted for the Associate's degree with 30 semester units or the equivalent being comparable to one (1) year of work experience.
Experience:
Code Compliance Inspector I: One (1) year of recent, paid work experience in general code enforcement and/or building inspection involving significant public contact. Recent related municipal experience is desirable.
Code Compliance Inspector II: Two (2) years of recent, paid work experience in general code enforcement and/or building inspection involving significant public contact at a level comparable to City of Oxnard's classification Code Compliance Inspector I.
License, Certification and Other Requirements:
- Possession of, or ability to obtain and maintain, a valid class C California driver's license.
- Must be able to speak and understand English to effectively communicate with fellow employees, customers, and vendors.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain within one (1) year and maintain, a valid PC 832 – Arrest, Search and Seizure course certificate.
- Code Compliance Inspector I: Possession of, or ability to obtain within one (1) year and maintain, a valid Basic Level module certificate issued by the California Association of Code Enforcement Officers (CACEO).

Retirement Contributions:
New members (as defined by PEPRA), 2% @ 62; "Classic" members 2% @ 55. The employee will be required to pay a portion of their annual earnings toward their retirement. The City of Oxnard does not participate in social security.
Vacation Time:
Full time employees accrue vacation time at a rate of 4.08 - 7.77 hours per pay period based on years of service.
Sick Time:
Full time employees accrue sick time at a rate of 3.70 hours per pay period.
Bilingual Pay:
A regular full time employee may receive bilingual pay at the rate of $50.00-$125.00 bi-weekly depending on the level the employee is required to provide bilingual services as determined by the City Manager or designee.
Educational Incentive:
For positions that do not require a Bachelor's Degree, the City offers an educational incentive award of 2.5% for employees that complete 30 work-related college semester units above the minimum education requirements for the position.
Health and Dental:
The City contributes $1,543.00 per month toward medical insurance premiums and an additional $66.80 per month for dental insurance premiums. For those employees who waive the medical the City will contribute $1,243.00 per month. Any unused dental premium monies are paid to the employee.
Life Insurance:
City employees receive Basic Life Coverage and have the option to purchase additional insurance.
Deferred Compensation:
The City contributes 1% to a deferred compensation program.
Tuition Reimbursement:
Full-time employees receive reimbursement of educational expenses including the costs of tuition, registration fees, laboratory fees, and books at a rate of 50% for work related coursework up to a maximum of $500 per fiscal year.

- SUMMARY:
MRB Inspectors work to ensure operating activities of medical marijuana businesses are conducted in a compliant manner in accordance with the state and federal regulation, as applicable. The Inspector will schedule and conduct inspections for licensed entities prescribed by law, along with other OMMA licensees as needed. Inspection types may include pre-site visits for prospective customers, bi-annual, follow up, and corrective action inspections and investigations. The MRB Inspector works with the bank's compliance team to perform compliance activities in assigned areas of responsibility, projects, and programs to ensure MRB's are operating in compliance with laws and regulations. The MRB Inspector is required to conduct inspections and report timely and accurately within the prescribed mechanism.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts inspection procedures for existing and new medical marijuana licensed growers, dispensaries, processors, and disposal services as required by federal regulations and state laws.

- This position implements and enforces: M.G.L. 128 Section 116-123, M.G.L.c 132B, 7 CFR 990, and any other overlapping laws or regulations within M.G.L.c. 128.

DUTIES
The incumbent performs a variety of duties assigned by management. Duties include being responsible for regulatory oversight, education, and providing compliance services to licensees of the Cannabis Control Division. Job Description:
The Medical Cannabis and Industrial Hemp Division at the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food (UDAF) are seeking a qualified individual to fill a Compliance Inspector position. The incumbent will function as a field representative of the division and will primarily be responsible for performing inspections of cannabis & hemp cultivation sites, processing facilities, and retail locations, to enforce regulations set by the State of Utah and provide technical leadership. Inspectors monitor agricultural policy and certify compliance with program regulations. Inspectors need to have outstanding integrity, extreme attention to detail, and exceptional interpersonal communication skills. This job will require you to understand and clearly communicate laws and rules to individuals participating in the legal sale of cannabis and hemp products in the State of Utah. This will include reviewing product labels of hemp and cannabis commodities for compliance and issuing a notice of violations of the law, a notice of violation, and/or stop-sale notices.
Inspectors will:
- Promote responsible agricultural production and commerce.
- Provides technical leadership in their area of specialty.
- Comply with the requirements of due process.
- Prepare compliance violations.
- Implement administrative controls. Federal and State licensure may be required for each program.
- Pursuant to Utah Code §§ 4-41-107 and 26-61a-111, this job includes duties that arise from or directly relate to the Utah Medical Cannabis Act. Duties may require conduct which is in violation of the criminal laws of the United States with respect to the manufacture, sale, or distribution of cannabis. Duties Description
A Hazardous Materials Inspector monitors regulatory compliance in the transportation of hazardous materials by rail within an assigned territory.
Significant duties include:
- Plans and carries out an itinerary of periodic inspections of the handling of hazardous materials at rail facilities, including intermodal facilities, shipper/consignee locations, and tank car manufacturing and repair facilities.
- Inspects rail cars, freight containers and intermodal bulk containers for compliance with applicable hazardous materials regulations, freight car equipment and safety appliance standards.
- Investigate the loading/unloading, switching and movement of cars containing hazardous materials by rail, as well as the shippers/carriers' documentation of such car loadings.
- Investigate and collects evidence of violations of hazardous materials regulations relating to railroads, including interviewing witnesses and examining and securing pertinent evidence and/or documentations.
- Responsibilities may include participating within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
The position requires the employee be certified by the FRA through on the job training, class room training, and continuous follow up training in order to stay current with all changes and updates to the Federal Register. Out of state travel will be required in order to attend FRA training classes. The incumbent will periodically be required to be on call 24/7 to respond to unusual occurrences, derailments, or other railroad related emergencies.

The incumbent will function as a field representative of the division and will primarily be responsible for performing inspections of cannabis & hemp cultivation sites, processing facilities, and retail locations, to enforce regulations set by the State of Utah and provide technical leadership. Inspectors monitor agricultural policy and certify compliance with program regulations. Inspectors need to have outstanding integrity, extreme attention to detail, and exceptional interpersonal communication skills. This job will require you to understand and clearly communicate laws and rules to individuals participating in the legal sale of cannabis and hemp products in the State of Utah. This will include reviewing product labels of hemp and cannabis commodities for compliance and issuing a notice of violations of the law, a notice of violation, and/or stop-sale notices.
Inspectors will:
- Promote responsible agricultural production and commerce.
- Provides technical leadership in their area of specialty.
- Comply with the requirements of due process.
- Prepare compliance violations.
- Implement administrative controls. Federal and State licensure may be required for each program.
- Pursuant to Utah Code §§ 4-41-107 and 26-61a-111, this job includes duties that arise from or directly relate to the Utah Medical Cannabis Act. Duties may require conduct which is in violation of the criminal laws of the United States with respect to the manufacture, sale, or distribution of cannabis. As a condition of employment, candidates who are selected to fill this position will be required to sign an Acceptance of Duties Under the Medical Cannabis Act Acknowledgment Form.

What will you do?
Marijuana Licensing inspectors perform site surveys and investigations of recreational marijuana producers, processors, wholesalers, retailers and laboratories to assess and provide consultation on compliance with state laws and rules that govern marijuana businesses.
Here are some of the essential duties you will perform:
- Independently, or as a member of a team, conduct site surveys and investigations of Oregon marijuana applicants and licensed businesses to assure compliance with state laws and rules that govern marijuana businesses.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret licensee’s business records and other records or technical reports (police and court reports, real estate documents, certifications from other agencies).
- Use a radio frequency scanner to collect and record licensed premises marijuana inventory as needed. Compare scanned inventory data with recorded inventory in cannabis tracking system application to detect and assess shortages/overages in product quantities. Analyze and reconcile financial and tax data from the application and reports. Review discrepancies with licensee to determine whether an investigation is in order.
- Document site survey and investigation findings in narrative reports.
- Inspect production areas and plants or products for contaminants. Obtain and submit samples of product to be tested by third party laboratory.
- Review product labels for conformance to labeling requirements.
- Determine the validity of complaints of marijuana law violations by talking with complainant, licensee, witnesses (in person and over the phone); observing at the licensed business; and reviewing the compliance history of the business.
- Plan and conduct minor decoy operations with other law enforcement agencies or program staff. Recruit and train minor decoys.
- Gather, control, and secure evidence according to procedures to preserve the integrity and chain-of-custody.
- Provide licensees with consultative assistance by educating or training on regulatory requirements and developing strategies for achieving compliance with rule and law such as implementing operational changes to the business.
- Interpret regulatory requirements, analyze facts and apply policy and standards to decide appropriate action to gain compliance from licensee.
- May review security plans and make recommendations for license revocation or other corrective actions if facilities are not meeting the Commission’s security goals.
- Prepare and present documents needed for contested case hearing. Testify on behalf of the Commission at administrative law hearings or in court.

The Department's mission is to promote and protect agriculture, the health and safety of our community, the environment, and economy through education and the enforcement of laws and regulations of the California Food and Agriculture Code, the Business and Professions Code, the California Code of Regulations, and the Sonoma County Municipal Code. Weights & Measures Division
The current vacancy in this division is responsible for:
- Testing and certifying the accuracy of commercial weighing devices (scales) and commercial measuring devices (meters) used in various local industries
- Inspecting local business for compliance with price accuracy requirements and packaged commodities for labeling requirements and accurate net content statements
- Inspecting petroleum and fuel products for compliance with quality standards, advertising, and labeling requirements

- Preparing notices of violation, civil fines, and enforcement referrals

Job Description:
The Medical Cannabis and Industrial Hemp Division at the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food (UDAF) are seeking a qualified individual to fill a Compliance Inspector position. The incumbent will function as a field representative of the division and will primarily be responsible for performing inspections of cannabis & hemp cultivation sites, processing facilities, and retail locations, to enforce regulations set by the State of Utah and provide technical leadership. Inspectors monitor agricultural policy and certify compliance with program regulations. Inspectors need to have outstanding integrity, extreme attention to detail, and exceptional interpersonal communication skills. This job will require you to understand and clearly communicate laws and rules to individuals participating in the legal sale of cannabis and hemp products in the State of Utah. This will include reviewing product labels of hemp and cannabis commodities for compliance and issuing a notice of violations of the law, a notice of violation, and/or stop-sale notices.
Inspectors will:
- Promote responsible agricultural production and commerce.
- Provides technical leadership in their area of specialty.
- Comply with the requirements of due process.
- Prepare compliance violations.
- Implement administrative controls. Federal and State licensure may be required for each program.

Position Summary
The OMMA Compliance Grow Inspectors work to ensure compliance activities are fulfilled for licensed medical marijuana growers. The Inspector will schedule and conduct inspections for licensed grow entities prescribed by law, along with other OMMA licensees as needed. Inspection types may include bi-annual, follow up, complaints, surrenders and corrective action inspections and investigations. The Grow Inspector works with the OMMA Compliance team to perform compliance activities in assigned areas of responsibility, projects, and programs to ensure growers are operating in compliance with agency rules and state laws. The Grow Inspector is required to conduct inspections and report timely and accurately within the prescribed mechanism.
Position Responsibilities / Essential Functions
- Implements inspection procedures for existing and new medical marijuana licensed growers, as required by state laws and rules, along with other license types as needed.
- Coordinates inspection activities at all points through the process – schedules, conducts and tracks compliance investigations and inspections.
- Consistently performs inspections and reporting within the prescribed protocols and processes.
- Conducts follow-up inspections and surveys to ensure corrective actions have been taken.
- Assists in the coordination, provision and collection of reporting requirements for Medical Marijuana licensed entities.
- Testifies in hearing and court cases, and assists legal staff in preparation of hearing and court cases.
- Offers feedback and suggestions to OMMA compliance and leadership team to improve program processes.
- Recommends action as to licensure revocations, fines and penalties.
- Works through establishment complaints: investigate, analyze and make recommendation to proper channel.
- Provides analysis of inspection findings, identifies potential problems, offers advice, and provides solutions. Seeks clarification of issues and provides feedback.
- Assists with reconciliation and record keeping for all documents such as grower license surrenders, complaint back-up files, case files, correspondence, etc.
- Applies investigative methods and procedures, including safety concepts, rules and codes.
- Effectively communicates and ensures a collaborative and team-based work environment.
- Develops and maintains sound personnel policies and practices.
- Maintains effective working relationships with others.
- Performs inspections and assists in other licensee matters as needed.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, agricultural science, environmental science, criminal justice, public administration, public health, environmental science, or closely related field; OR at least 5 years of professional experience and knowledge of principles and practices relevant to agriculture or other environmental science, field inspections, and/or other comparable experience. Experience with Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, Outlook, and TEAMS) preferred.
Preference may be given to candidate with regulatory licensing program and relevant agricultural experience.

Medical Marijuana Facility / Registered Premise Inspector

The scope of inspections ranges from marijuana growing/cultivating facilities, marijuana-infused products manufacturing facilities, dispensary or retail shops, chemical manufacturing facilities, and testing laboratories which can be sensitive, contentious, comprehensive, and complex in nature. This position is responsible for evaluating, managing, and maintaining complex database systems and approving licenses in accordance with statutes and regulations. The inspector will perform other regulatory duties as allowed under the Montana Medical Marijuana Act.
Key responsibilities include:
- Plan, schedule, and conduct inspections of applicant and licensed cultivations, manufacturing facilities, dispensaries, to ensure that marijuana products are produced, handled, and tested in accordance with relevant program standards.
- Create detailed inspection documentation and corrective actions, as well as follow-up communication for any observed deficiencies.
- Interpret and apply complex state statutes, administrative rules, standards, certification requirements, and local jurisdictional requirements, ordinances, zoning requirements, and other relevant regulations (MDEQ, MDOR etc.).

Review and evaluate cultivation, manufacturing, chemical manufacturing, and quality assurance testing laboratory procedures, commodities, products, labels, equipment, and audit components for consistency with the operational plan; gather evidence and documentation of potential noncompliance with references to specific portions of state statute or administrative rule; and maintain complete and accurate records related to each inspection, and investigation activities.
- Issue stop sales, embargos and quarantine orders for illegal, contaminated, impure or substandard products in coordination with the direct supervisor.
- Gather evidence, interpret, and document technically and legally defensible regulatory observations to support recommended actions and follow-up inspections to document additional observations or confirm compliance/non-compliance; implements standard investigative procedures using technically and scientifically defensible methods through interviews, photographs, affidavits, review of records, and obtaining samples.
- Compile information and interpret evidence; recommend regulatory conclusions, enforcement, or remedial actions; implement approved corrective or remedial actions; conducts meetings with affected persons or groups in difficult situations; consult with department attorney and direct supervisor; act as an expert witness at hearings and court proceedings; and assist regulatory agencies as necessary.

Physical and Environmental Demands: Work is performed in both an office environment and in the field. Work involves extensive statewide travel (up to 30,000 miles per year) with varying seasonal demands to perform inspections, investigations and to attend meetings and conferences. Fieldwork may include long working hours, adverse weather conditions, hot and humid facilities, dark environments, isolated areas, dusty and noisy conditions, withstanding heights, walking on slippery or uneven ground, and exposure to high intensity lights, exposure to chemicals to include BHO, CO2, and fertilizers. Frequent exposure to chemical manufacturing equipment.
This position requires the ability to manage and mediate confrontational situations associated with site inspections, certification determinations, and regulatory measures. The incumbent is expected to communicate effectively in a variety of situations ranging from routine conversations designed to elicit compliance information to dealing with volatile, explosive, and highly controversial situations or incidents that require conflict management and resolution. It is not uncommon to encounter armed individuals during fieldwork.

The Arizona Department of Agriculture is currently recruiting for an Agriculture Inspector III position for the HEMP Program in our Plant Services Division. The position is located in the Phoenix office however you will be required to travel in-state to conduct inspections.
JOB SUMMARY:
The primary responsibilities will be to assist the Agriculture Inspector IVs in investigations, conduct inspections and sample industrial hemp crops. Follows procedures and policies to administer the Industrial Hemp Program (program). Performs a variety of job duties during the inspection and certification process to determine compliance with program requirements, including sample collection and submission to an accredited lab for compliance testing. May serve as a courier for the distribution of certified industrial hemp seed for licensees under an agricultural pilot program for industrial hemp. Authorized to transport Cannabis spp. plant samples for program compliance. Conducts inspections and develops reports used to determine eligibility of industrial hemp program applicants. Audits the documentation and reports of industrial hemp licensees for program compliance. Temporary Quality Inspector (Cannabis Cultivation) $18-$19/hr

Schedule is Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m with possible overtime as business needs dictate. Pay is targeted at $18/hr - $19/hr, with possible negotiability based on experience.
Candidate must be able to obtain a Marijuana Establishment Agent Card to work on this assignment.

Quality Technician Duties: :
Assist with tasks related to quality and safety of finished products, packaging materials, raw materials, and processing methods. Ensure GMPs, GAPs, and product safety practices are followed.
REQUIREMENTS: :
1-2 years of experience in Quality position – laboratory, cultivation, or production.
Prior experience working in cannabis or food manufacturing/GMP facility.
REQUIRED SKILLS:

- Written and verbal communication skills
- Proven problem-solving ability; sound judgement and decision making
Responsibilities::
- Ability to make quality/product safety decisions involving product quality
- Ensure calibration of quality testing instruments to provide accurate monitoring
- Ensure package integrity and accuracy
- Monitor all production and cultivation operator paperwork
- Confirm that the facility GMP/GAP and product safety audit procedures are properly carried out
- Verity product lot coding information is correct during manufacturing/labeling/processing
- Communicate to management when critical quality issues arise
- Retrieve and review external finished product testing results
- Perform label verification for labeling, records, and sign documentation to verify compliance to requirements
- Verify that all paperwork is correct for the line and/or product being run
- Verify that all specification sheets, data and conformance information is correct for the product/line
- Escort third-party lab for product sampling; prepare samples for lab delivery
- Perform ATP swabbing as determined
- Issue holds when needed and release items when determined to be acceptable.
- Other tasks assigned by management

Job Summary
This position is responsible for performing final inspections on all product before being loaded on the trucks for delivery. Supports and adheres to company's Standards of Conduct & Discipline.
Job Duties/Responsibilities

1. Performs First Check which incudes Big boxing flower, writing labels for delivery boxes, removing extra labels, checking labels for accuracy, checking counts for accuracy, etc.
2. Performs Second Checks which includes Final Inspections of checking labels, counts and product for accuracy and quality.
3. Records errors found in the online tracking sheets.
4. Records and verifies final box counts.
5. Maintains a clean and organized work space.
6. Communicates with leads and management.
7. Assists with loading inventory into carts and trucks to prepare for delivery departure. Unloads and organizes empty returned boxes.
8. Trains new crew members and assists with assigning work and guiding crew members.
9. Assists other work areas or departments as assigned.
10. Assists with Research & Development projects as assigned. Performs other duties/responsibilities as assigned or requested.
Job Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the minimum qualifications listed below. These qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform this job.
- Must be 21 years old or older
Education/Experience: to perform this job successfully, an individual must have:
- High School Diploma or a General Education Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Trimming/plant experience helpful but not required.
- Experience with computers and tracking software preferred.
Physical Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to:
- Regularly sit or stand for long periods of time doing repetitive tasks with hands, pull/push, carry up to 10 pounds, and grasp.
- Frequently walk, reach, and taste, or smell.
