The Extraction Associate/Postproduction Tech supports the post-production needs of all extraction processes. Post-production associates will assist the extraction technicians by overseeing all product consistencies under the Canamo Concentrate product lines. - Maintaining appropriate supplies levels required for the extraction process including equipment, solvents, tools, and any other material that is required for an extraction or cleaning process.
- PPE is required (masks, hair nets, shoe covers and lab coats) when in the extraction lab and surrounding areas.
- Lifting of 30+ lbs. and standing for long periods of time.
- Setting up, adjusting, operating, and maintaining laboratory equipment such as vacuum ovens, filtration apparatus, rotary evaporator, vacuum pumps, balances, hot plates, as well as other laboratory equipment
- Assisting in weighing, packaging, and labeling products
- Preparation of equipment and plant material for extraction
- Maintaining a neat and sanitary work environment
- Cleaning and sanitization laboratory glassware and equipment
- Following compliance for tracking of biomass, products and waste

Summary/Objective
Monitors and executes botanical extraction, purification, filtration, distillation, and recovery of extraction solvent, under the direction of senior extraction technicians and/or Laboratory Director.

Purpose
The Extraction Assistant is responsible for taking product and using company methods and procedures to extract cannabis oils to be produced into our concentrate line. Perform laboratory maintenance and auxiliary tasks to assist in production of various cannabis concentrates and distillates.
Essential Functions:
- Work with laboratory manager and team to produce high quality concentrates.
- Set up, adjust, and operate laboratory equipment and instruments such as vacuum ovens, filtration, rotovap, fume hood, and balances among others.
- Assist in product filling, packaging, and labeling.

POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for a variety of extraction tasks and extraction data entry for cannabis concentrate products within the Culta Processing facility in accordance with Maryland laws and regulations and standards set by Culta. Responsible for communicating known issues to the management team and must be able to follow standard operating procedures within the facility.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares dry and fresh frozen cannabis material for extraction.
- Assisting with the extraction, preparation, and production of cannabis products.
- Overseeing the oven management of cannabis concentrates.
- Prepares test samples for third party verification within the extraction dept.
- Prepares and confirms testing sample manifest against third party Chain of Custody.
- When needed, assists in the filtration and winterization of cannabis extracts.
- Accurately weigh and record all products.
- Utilize and maintain extraction logs.
- Within 90 days be able to operate with accuracy within Metrc.
- Dispose of green waste after extractions.
- Ensure all equipment and vessels are maintained to ensure a safe and sanitary process.
- Wear personal protective equipment required to operate each machine.
- Prevent cross contamination and manufacturing fumes from being incorporated into the extracted concentrate oil.
- Follow all facility sanitation procedures.
- Communicate known issues to the management team.
- Follow all safety protocols put into place for machine operation by following SOPs to meet Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of all processing areas.
- Maintain a quality product.
- Assist with Indoor and Outdoor flower harvests (when available), or any other assigned project/task.
JOB TASKS (The following tasks are not a complete itemization of job duties, but a guideline to scheduling workload.)

Daily:- Enter production batches into the Metrc state system.
- Create testing tags for 3rd party analysis within the extraction department.
- Tracks all testing samples within logs and Metrc Inventory tracking system.
- Files COAs on passed production batches and communicates with the Packaging lead on when these are ready to be packaged.
- Signs off on Shatter quality sheets under the supervision of the Extraction Lead.
- Assists with month end inventory counts within the extraction department.
- Preform a visual inspection of raw plant material to ensure that only the highest quality ingredients are used. Bring any discrepancies in quality to the Extraction Lead.
- Assists with the delivery of compressed gases.
- Assists with the deliveries of fresh frozen and dry cannabis material.
- Ensure that the C1D2 room is properly set up at the beginning of each day.
- Assists in cleaning glassware and extraction socks as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS ANDPHYSICALREQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Prior laboratory experience preferred but not required.
- Thorough understanding of state and local medical cannabis laws and ability to comprehend complex legislation and apply implications.
