Information Entropy is looking for a talented, organized, and motivated graphic designer to join our marketing team. If your design aesthetic embodies minimalism, street, and urban styles in line with our brand we will have you help with packaging design, clothing design, menus, sales and other marketing materials. This role requires a refined aesthetic and a strong ability to translate requirements into design.
Responsibilities:
- Create, modify, and design various digital and print materials for our company including clothing, packaging, digital and social banners, brand graphics, brand assets, text blasts, catalogs, flyers, logos, billboards, social media design
- Resize graphic layouts to adhere to specifications required by packaging and various marketing channels (Email, Social Media, Posters, Videos, etc.)
- Ensure final graphics and layouts are of high quality, visually appealing, on-brand, and compliant with regulatory compliance as well as state and local requirements.
- Work with outside agencies, web designers, marketing, and printers as needed or directed
- Stay abreast of and capitalize on emerging design and industry trends
Qualifications:
- An interest in packaging design, apparel and fashion, and being creative
- A portfolio that demonstrates a strong sense of creativity, branding, storytelling, and technical expertise
- Prior marketing, graphic design, web content, or creative environment experience
- Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and web
- Advanced, technical knowledge of graphic design (and related) software applications including InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop
- Detail-oriented with strong knowledge of typography, color, hierarchy and balance
- Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills with ability to explain rationale behind design decisions

The task at hand:

Main duties of this position will include, but not limited to: creating digital content for social media in partnership with our marketing manager and design team; assist the design team with creating product packaging suites for various brands, sales collateral in both digital and print form; have the ability to work off of and share accessible adobe files within the design team; and collaborate with the design team to create brand assets and contribute ideas to the branding process. You will also be involved in writing content and other administrative duties. The role is based at the manufacturing office located in NoDa, Charlotte, NC. This role is about ensuring the success of all brand-related marketing campaigns and creative support to The Smoke Manufacturer. This is a full time position with pay starting at $3,200/month.

About the Role:
We’re looking for a driven, self-motivated, and talented Graphic Designer to join our growing Cannabis Brand team as a Branding & Packaging Designer. This mid-level role will report to the executive management team and will work with other team members and will assist with any & all design projects that come through our department. Additionally, this role will provide visual + design support to the social media, ambassador, and digital marketing team.
You Will:
Be the Branding & Packaging Designer and embrace constructive criticism as part of the design process. A proven track record of successful branding and logo experience will clearly articulate your design decision. You will also work with new visual directions for new brands and lines- including color theory and typography - and ensure they are carried out consistently. Design without fear of failure have foresight to adapt to changing needs, environments and iterate quickly and collaborate with product managers and company leaders.
Previous experience must include a full concept cycle through final design, working directly with members of management to create logos for brands and assist in the overall packaging experience to produce the final product. The Branding & Packaging Graphic Designer will be focused primarily on logo, packaging, but additional experience with marketing design is a huge plus as a portion of the role will include designing emails, social media, and potentially sales.
Responsibilities:
- Lead all packaging design for the brand and future product lines
- Be an active voice in creative concepting for marketing campaigns, programs and promotions
- Create content for other marketing materials (online and offline)
- Manage projects within deadlines provided and execute in timely manner
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree is preferred but not required
- At least 3+ years in a graphic design role, preferably at an agency or within a brand marketing department with a focus on consumer goods; previous fashion/cannabis/cosmetics is a highly preferred
- Proven, strong package design skills and experience
- Experience with in-store retail designs (shelf strips, displays, at shelf)
- Portfolio of work related to previous branding content, logos, and other creative content.
- Previous experience in sales is a huge plus!
Qualifications
- Strong communication, conceptual thinking, typography skills and design skills
- Proficiency with Adobe CC. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premier & After Effects
- Possession of creative flair, versatility, conceptual/visual ability and originality
- Ability to conceptualize and execute high-performing creative for all marketing channels (online and offline)
- Strong sense of motion, visual design and type
- Showcase strong digital presence via an online portfolio or professional website
- Ability to interact, communicate, and present ideas in a clear and proactive manner with all levels of management
- Be an active contributor to the evolution of the brand
