The Cultivation Technician is the backbone of the horticultural process at Ayr Wellness. Through responsible care of all plants from initial propagation through harvest, the Cultivation Technician is essential to ensuring the purpose of Ayr Cultivation is achieved—a scientific, data-driven and no-nonsense approach to cannabis production.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists in all aspects of cultivation operations including trellising, pruning, spacing and overall canopy management.

Job Summary
This position requires a person who is passionate about learning, teaching, and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Director of Cultivation, the Post-Harvest Manager will work in conjunction with the Director of Cultivation and Cultivation Manager as well as the Post-Harvest Leads and Technicians to coordinate, implement, and troubleshoot any issues that arise during day-to-day operations of the Post-Harvest Department at AYR Wellness. The Post-Harvest Manager will coordinate with the Director of Cultivation and Cultivation Manager to ensure effective implementation of Post-Harvest policies, performance of the team is consistent with the most recent iteration of all Post-Harvest procedures, set and review task lists and Harvest scheduling with the Director of Cultivation and Cultivation Team, notify the Director of Cultivation of any issues with the harvests as they arise, and provide Post-Harvest Technicians and Leads with guidance and task clarification while working alongside them.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees all aspects of Post-Harvest operations from harvesting of plants to drying, curing and trimming.
- Coordinates daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules and task lists with the Director of Cultivation.

The Cultivation Lead supervises and assists Cultivation team in performing all the tasks necessary to grow various strains of quality cannabis including but not limited to: feeding the plants, defoliation, super cropping, flushing, foliar and preventative sprays, waste disposal and inventory management for a large commercial facility. The Cultivation Lead works closely with the Cultivation Technicians, Cultivation Manager and the Cultivation Director on all aspects of cultivating.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Opens and closes designated grow zones according to Ayr Wellness standard operating procedures.
- Checks for any plant loss or stress, malfunctioning cultivation equipment, and any uncompleted tasks from the day before.
- Double checks that all items on the Opening and Closing checklist are completed successfully and according to SOP’s, delegating tasks to other Cultivators as necessary.
- Performs daily inspections of plants for overall health, pests, disease or sex change.
- Assesses overall plant health and well-being and give individual plants tailored attention based on need.
- Assists in maintaining a clean and organized work environment
- Understands and becomes familiar with all cultivation equipment and tools and the cleaning of all equipment and tools
- Sets up a team for success by making sure every team member has the supplies and equipment needed for an activity.
- Assists Cultivation Manager with rotation of strains through garden to ensure a variety and quantity for dispensary locations.
- Constantly monitors environmental controls to ensure environmental controls are in optimal range; Temperature, Humidity, Vapor Pressure Deficit, CO2 ppm, Water Temperature, Dissolved Oxygen ppm, Light Intensity, etc.
- Assists the Cultivation Manager with tracking plants from birth to harvest by ensuring proper and accurate documentation for applicable activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must meet age requirement as outlined by state cannabis agencies.
- Able to pass all background checks/fingerprinting as required by state cannabis agencies.
- Able to provide valid badging/credentials as required by state cannabis agencies.
- Two years of experience in general cannabis cultivation or commercial production gardening.
- Minimum 6 months of professional experience in agriculture, horticulture or cannabis industry.
- Ability to make decisions when needed.
- Accurate data-entry and record keeping.
- Thorough understanding of state and local medical and/or recreational cannabis laws and how they apply to the operations of Ayr Wellness.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Effective time-management skills and ability to multitask.
- Must be able to work on nights, weekends or alternate shifts.
Education
- Two-year degree in horticulture or related field preferred.

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a wide variety of routine repair and preventative maintenance tasks required to keep our Production buildings, facilities equipment and retail locations operating properly, safely and efficiently. Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs preventative maintenance programs/tasks for all equipment.
- Responsible for minor repairs of buildings, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and painting.
- Assists in coordinating/directing subcontractor services for completion of extensive or complex projects.
- Follows and ensures compliance with all applicable OSHA, GMP, FDA, State, Local and Company regulations, policies and procedures.
- Responds to emergency calls, makes immediate repairs when necessary and assists subcontractor if further repairs are necessary.
- Performs special projects as assigned.
- Reports all facility safety and security issues to management.
- Performs general cleaning of facility, equipment and tools.
- Assists in fostering a positive work environment, treating everyone with dignity and respect while perpetuating a curiosity for “everything cannabis”.

The Cultivation Assistant Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the cultivation facility in accordance with standards set by the state and Ayr Wellness. The Cultivation Assistant Manager provides support for all cultivation agents, including schedules, training, policy and procedure updates, industry news, and product information. Responsible for the documentation, ordering, and receiving of all inventory and products, arranging deliveries, maintaining facility compliance, and cleanliness in accordance with state regulations and standards set by Ayr Wellness.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists the Cultivation Manager with managing cultivation staff, schedules, cultivation processes, inventory, and vendor relations.
- Serves as a role model and resource for cultivation staff concerning products and services, policies and procedures, industry news, and changes in regulations.
- Assists the Cultivation Manager with responding to all agent questions, concerns, or suggestions and takes action when necessary to resolve conflicts.
- Assists the Cultivation Manager with delegating tasks to cultivation agents to maintain a compliant and clean cultivation facility.
- Oversees grow zone and maintains ownership of all cultivation tasks and processes, ensures proper documentation of all applicable activities in accordance with standards set by the state and the company.
- Assists the Cultivation Manager with planning, coordinating, and overseeing the transition of product development by ensuring that the proper tasks are executed and that the environmental conditions support the cultivation of superior quality product in accordance with state regulations and standards set by the company.
- Assists the Cultivation Manager in meeting crop production schedule deadlines – cloning, transplanting, manicuring, harvesting, sanitation, etc.
- Assists the Cultivation Manager in monitoring and maintaining the health of all plants.
- Assists the Cultivation Manager in the maintenance, sanitation, and documentation of all horticulture equipment.
Qualifications
