Job Summary
The Sr. Director of Store Operations has leadership responsibility for all aspects of Ayr Wellness’ National Store Operations RTB (Run the Business) functions/team. Overview:

Job Description
The Director of Retail Dispensaries will lead Local Roots dispensaries in Fitchburg, Sturbridge and Marlboro and is responsible for compliance, profitably growing dispensary revenue, developing dispensary objectives, and ensuring our customers receive consistent and exceptional service every visit. We seek a motivated individual to enhance our consumer experience, provide solid leadership to our retail teams, maximize revenue through marketing and advertising, and meet our future growth plans. The Director of Retail Dispensaries will report to the corporate management team.
What it takes
The Director of CPC/LR’s retail corporate arm will be responsible for numerous operational components and will supervise the individual locations while working closely with their General Managers. The position will require a little bit lawyer (regulatory compliance), an eye for market trends, the presence of a head coach and some creativity with the ability to improvise. The Director, most importantly, will spearhead the “front of the house” retail culture of our company. The Director will communicate and collaborate regularly with our management team.
This is an opportunity for someone to grow very quickly with us.
Experience
Prior experience in the cannabis industry is NOT required, however it is also not discouraged. A commitment to learn can easily make up for an initial lack of knowledge of the product. Candidates with restaurant or hotel management experience are highly encouraged.

- Define objectives, strategies and plans at the retail level.

- Collaborate on product design, development, packaging and other channels to ensure the product meets the needs of the stores and continues to drive overall brand strategies. Modern digital marketing experience is very important.
- Reinforces service, product, operations and management expectations through training and development of LR store teams.
- Maintains a presence in the field in order to effectively coach and support dispensary teams. Ensures operational priorities, processes and procedures are communicated, understood and executed consistently across all locations.
- Hiring store general managers as needed. Assist general manager in hiring assistant general managers.
- Work well with the CPC/LR retail general managers.
Qualifications

THE OPPORTUNITY

- Project management certification (PMP) preferred

Position Description: The Director of Retail Operations is primarily responsible for effective performance management and execution of retail operations for Retail Dispensary locations in the North East Region of the U.S. including merchandising, staffing and patient order fulfilment processes. The Director works closely with each Dispensary General Manager to drive the successful business management and financial performance of the dispensary.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Hire, train, schedule and manage staff at all the dispensaries to achieve established standards, sales and profit objectives as well as customer satisfaction. Ensure that all deadlines are met and take accountability for completion.

- Develop, coach and consistently execute Ilera’s service standards. Ensure consistent execution of steps of service by using tools such as quarterly departmental staff meetings, and customer feedback. Constantly work to improve standards and customer satisfaction.
- Take ownership of Ilera’s dispensary business and ensure the dispensaries operate efficiently and profitably.
- Actively manage inventory, recalls, and pricing to meet cost and sales targets.
- Effectively manage cash controls and financial reporting. Ensure check register, cash outs, bank logs, inventory and deposits are accurate and executed according to Ilera standard.
- Effectively manage service labor, scheduling and payroll.
- Perform business management operations and analyses such as P&L; develop and review KPI reports for dispensaries to monitor opportunities and challenges with a goal to maximize revenues and profits.
- Proactively monitor dispensary profit and loss and develop effective mitigation between actual performance and company budget and projections. Work with management team to develop insight as for business decisions.
- Maintain a general awareness of cannabis and retail trends to help create innovative and adaptive strategies. Work closely with grower-processors to understand and learn about their products.
- Work with the General Manager of each Dispensary to meet all regulatory requirements. Correct all violations with a sense of urgency. Work with Ilera’s corporate office (finance, human resources and marketing,) to ensure standards are met. Maintain open lines of communication with staff: management and hourly.
- Promote open feedback from retail staff, medical professional team, and marketing department.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
· Minimum of 5 years of management experience in the retail, restaurant, grocery or other service industry with responsibility for financial results
· Previous management proficiency in high volume retail with P&L accountability
· Ability to create and maintain a customer focused culture
· Cannabis experience is a plus.
- Work/manage coverage of weekends and holidays as necessary.
- Must be flexible regarding work schedule and willing to work 5-6 days per week including evening and weekends including opening and closing shifts.
