Reports to: VP, Regional Operations
Position Overview:
The Director, Retail (the “Retail Director”) is responsible for establishing the strategic direction of the retail operation with their assigned region and for leading the day-to-day operational activities in support of those strategic objectives.Work with VP, Regional Operations to establish strategic direction, set and meet financial targets, determine resource needs and CAPEX requirements for the region (along with ROI business case). Manages, directs and implements retail strategies and objectives to ensure the achievement of KPIs.
The Retail Director is responsible for the sale of products to consumers and/or qualifying patients served by the Company’s own licensed dispensary in the region (retail). Provides leadership for retail operations and maintenance to achieve and maintain the highest standards of quality, patient satisfaction, service to accomplish sales goals.
Major Areas of Responsibility include:
Management of Resources:
- Provide leadership and oversight of retail to meet the demands of the market and have a competitive product assortment. Set parameters to judge how efficiently and effectively the retail operations are operating and tracking against plan.
- Assure compliance with all procedures and policies concerning all areas of quality, regulatory, security, transport, safety and human capital management.
- Ensure performance, quality, cost, schedule, in-stock, profit and patient satisfaction targets are achieved withrisks identified and mitigated and opportunities exercised.
Financial Management:
- Meet retail sales goals and financial targets for the region
- Track and control unit COGS and selling expenses in alignment with business plan. Create and managedispensary budgets and P&L.
- Review business forecasts, sales reports and financial statements to maximize results and
- Initiate and implement actions to maximize profits by containing expenses through improved operating and cost Develop, approve, and meet financial budgets, plans, and updates.
Quality Assurance, Compliance & Control:
- Generate/manage SOP’s to govern compliance within the region. Ensure compliance with all state and local regulations governing the state program. Operational interface with state and local regulators.
- Track all state license and agent card renewals to ensure that Company and its employees meet all registration renewal deadlines.
- Ensure all Company locations maintain strict compliance with seed-to-sale tracking requirements set by the state.
- Ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures.
Planning & Forecasting:
- Manage and align inventory methods, levels and cycles to region demands and
- Develop strategic plans and objectives in accordance with the overall strategy, execute business plans through functional reports while providing leadership, coaching and
- Identify and acquire new market
Human Capital Management & Development:
- Coach, develop, and mentor direct Conduct performance reviews; develop growth plans; interpret,implement and support employee-related policies, procedures and programs. Assign projects/tasks to direct staff.
- Recruit, train, develop, reward and recognize personnel to achieve targeted strategies and goals. Develop plans to ensure that each employee receives on-going training on an annual
- Ensure that all staff embody and project the Company’s values and
- Align labor to sales plans. Monitor and review the performance of staff and organize performance evaluations,coaching and other measures as
- Encourage and support culture of compliance with all state and local regulation and Company policies and procedures.
- Assess and assist in upgrading the management talent base within retail operations to achieve growth and meet regional needs (i.e., reduce cost, on-time delivery, patient wait times and satisfaction).
Communication & Coordination:
- Report and present financial and operational results to the Executive Team on a regular basis, including monthlyoperating reviews.
- Assure timely and relevant communications to and from all levels. This includes assuring communications between affected reporting areas and to related departments. Responsible for establishing systems that would enhance intra- and inter-departmental
- Establish interfaces with business units to assess customer needs and assure accurate project or programtechnical direction for operations engineering and
- Collaborate with other managers to determine how operational planning can contribute to the long-term strategic operations of the company by planning the activities that contribute to the overall goals of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications (Skills, Knowledge & Abilities):
- All applicants must be at least 21 years of
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or equivalent military background with a minimum of five years of retail operations, marketing, franchise, wholesale or operational leadership experience.
- Must have experience managing teams of

- Skilled in providing leadership and oversight of an entire operational unit (i.e., region).

- Knowledgeable and proficient in Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook sufficient tomaintain documents, prepare spreadsheets, perform analytics including charts and graphs and craft presentation material.

Additional Abilities Required:
