North Coast Testing Laboratories of Michigan (NCTLM) is a licensed safety compliance facility serving Michigan’s regulated marijuana market. Our Richmond, VA facility is currently seeking a Full-Time Sample Receiving Technician.
Sample Control technicians are responsible for ensuring that samples received by Enthalpy are received, documented, and stored correctly. They are usually the first point of contact between the clients’ samples and the laboratory and, as such, are responsible for immediately notifying the Laboratory Project Manager as to receipt, volume, preservation, labeling, or other discrepancies that could affect the laboratory’s ability to efficiently and profitably generate complete and accurate sample results on time, and meet the expectations of our clients. Sample Control technicians are also responsible for receiving incoming chemicals, standards and consumable supplies for the laboratory.

We are seeking to add to our collaborative team within our Central Californiaregion, focusing on hiring a part-time Sampler who resides in and around the Santa Cruz area (within 30-miles). Will only consider applicants living within this Central California region.
The Sampler position is responsible for obtaining a representative sample of a batch at the client’s location, completing all relevant documentation and providing excellent customer service, while ensuring all samples are safely and securely transferred to a Courier for delivery to our Santa Cruz Lab for processing.
- Must be at least 25 years of age
- Previous customer service experience is required
- Must be comfortable working with and around cannabis products. Previous work experience in the legal cannabis industry is preferred
- Ideal candidate will have 1 year of prior laboratory experience from either college or full-time practical work experience/exposure, and previous customer service experience

PAY RATE: Starts at $18.00 per hour, and then $20.00 per hour upon successfully passing a performance review after the first 90 -days
SCHEDULE: This will be a Part-time position based out of Central California (Santa Cruz lab).
The expectation will be up to 29 hours per week, Monday - Friday (must be flexible), schedule will vary week to week based on the needs of our clients.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interact with clients/customers on their premises during sample collection and submission (Clients / Customers may require our employees to be fully vaccinated)
- Follow all internal laboratory and State regulations while taking samples and driving to and from a client/customer sampling site or the laboratory
- Coordinate with Manager of Field Operations, as well as, Customer Service Account Managers to maximize sample collection
- Strive to maximize driving route efficiency
- Maintain records of samples and transportation data per relevant procedures
- Maintain sampling supply/equipment inventory
- Complete vehicle operational logs and minor maintenance as needed
- Follow good documentation practices, data integrity principles, and safety behaviors
- Promote a professional company image through exemplary customer relationship skills
- Refer customer inquiries, routing or schedule change requests, and/or complaints to the appropriate Account Manager
- Ensure proper Sample Submission form protocols are followed
- Suggest and implement continuous process improvement initiatives
- Support laboratory-based functions including sample intake/preparation, etc
- Perform other activities as assigned by management
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be at least 25 years of age
- Must have a minimum of 1-year previous Customer Service experience
- Must have a valid driver's license; must have and maintain a clean DMV driving record
- Ability to safely and securely park and keep a Company owned vehicle is required
- Ability to sit for long periods of time while driving
- Abilities: Follow written and verbal instructions and be an effective communicator; work effectively in a collaborative environment
- Skills: Read, write, and speak English; use LIMS, Microsoft Word, Excel, and email applications; must be able to program and follow driving navigation software

Our Deer Park (Houston area), TX facility is currently seeking a Full-Time Sample Custodian Technician.
Sample Custodian technicians are responsible for ensuring that samples received by Enthalpy are received, documented, and stored correctly. They are usually the first point of contact between the clients’ samples and the laboratory and are responsible for immediately notifying the Laboratory Project Manager as to receipt, volume, preservation, labeling, and any discrepancies that could affect the laboratory’s ability to efficiently meet the expectations of our clients. Sample Custodian Technicians are also responsible for receiving incoming chemicals, standards and consumable supplies for the laboratory.

Qualifications

Experience with Extraction Purification and Analysis preferred, but not required.

Experience with ISO/IEC 17025:2017.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing and challenging environment.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological, Chemical, agricultural, environmental, or related sciences from an accredited college or university; or have completed two years of college or university education that included coursework in biological, chemical, agricultural, environmental, or related sciences from an accredited college or university and three years full-time practical experience.

Job Overview: North Coast Testing Laboratories of Michigan, LLC (NCTLM) is seeking an outgoing and driven person who wants to be a part of a rapidly growing company in the burgeoning cannabis industry. The sample technician is responsible for all duties related to the collection of cannabis samples as defined by internal laboratory SOPs and Michigan Regulatory Agency (MRA) regulations including driving to and from laboratory/client sampling sites.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Follow all internal laboratory SOPs and Michigan Regulatory Agency (MRA) regulations while taking samples and driving to and from the laboratory/clients’ sampling site.
- Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate a company vehicle.
- Maintain records of samples and transportation data per relevant procedures.
- Maintain sampling supply/equipment inventory.
- Complete vehicle operational logs and minor maintenance as needed.
- Follow good documentation practices, data integrity principles and safety behaviors.
- Support laboratory-based functions including sample intake/preparation, etc.
- Follow all traffic laws.
- Coordinate intake activities with NCTLM Customer Service Representative(s) and Laboratory Director/Manager.
- Document sample and client information.
- Maintain the proper chain of custody of the samples from the client to the laboratory.
- Receive samples and verify appropriate receipt conditions, including weighing sample.
- Complete all necessary intake forms.
- Accurately enter data into company's Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Have basic understanding of Michigan inventory tracking software (METRC) and its procedures.
- Have a basic understanding of lab procedures and equipment uses.
- Provide excellent customer interaction and support.
- Work cooperatively in a team environment supporting management and co-workers.
Qualifications & Skills
- Possess a clean driving record and valid Michigan Driver’s License.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm during stressful situations
- Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor while interacting with clients.
- A passion for analytical chemistry and/or the cannabis industry
- Ability to learn and utilize company software systems
