Cambium Analytica is seeking a highly motivated microbiologist who would be responsible for the testing of medical and recreational cannabis and cannabis infused products for microbiological assays, including total coliform, STEC, Salmonella and Aspergillus. Other testing includes viral, pathogenic and gender identification. These tests utilize qPCR via AriaMx Thermocycler.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Actively participate as part of the method development, laboratory operations and following Good Laboratory Practices as defined in approved SOPs
- Perform all aspects of assigned technical processes
- Perform instrument QC and preventative maintenance
- Participate in drafting and execution of study plans to optimize assay/reagent parameters and product configuration
- Participate in experimental data analysis and interpretation
- Present data for review and discussion at individual and group laboratory meetings
- Follow laboratory protocols rigorously to execute experiments, thoroughly document all activities and maintain a formal notebook. Understand the experimental goals and results and provide feedback and basic troubleshooting as necessary
- As part of ongoing technical growth, gain further understanding of experimental principles by reading appropriate literature
- Work cooperatively in a team environment; supporting senior scientific staff and co-workers
- Prepare and qualify all reagents and working standard calibrator aliquots needed for quality assurance of all approved analytical methods
- May be required to review and update SOPs, tracking logs, and material/reagent specifications under design control processes

Job Title: Laboratory Technician
Job Type: Under the direction of an assigned Laboratory Manager or Laboratory Director, the analyst will perform all laboratory duties related to testing cannabis/cannabis derived products using approved procedures as mandated by the Michigan Regulatory Agency (MRA). The Laboratory Technician will also work on analytical method development and optimization using one or more of the following instruments: GC-FID, HPLC-TQ, LCMS, GC/HS-MS/MS, qPCR, or ICP-MS.

- Perform all aspects needed for the following test methods:
(1) Cannabinoids; (2) Heavy metals; (3) Microbial impurities; (4) Mycotoxins; (5) Residual pesticides; (6) Residual solvents and processing chemicals; and (7) If tested, terpenoids.
