Summary
The primary purpose of the Laboratory Technician is to ensure proper sample handling and preparation in accordance with prescribed methods and standard operating procedures. The Lab Tech I will be cross-trained in a wide range of techniques to extract/prepare samples for analysis by HPLC, ICP-MS, GC-MS, GC-MS/MS, LC-MS/MS.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pipet spiking solutions & perform dilutions on sample extracts
- Operate & maintain sample preparation equipment (including pipettors, pipetting robots, centrifuges, vortexes, etc.)
- Perform sample preparation procedures in accordance with SOPs
- Start-up analytical instrumentation and run system suitability checks
- Assist with instrumental maintenance
- Build and load worklists on analytical instruments
- Accurately document all activities related to sample handling, storage, preparation, analysis, and disposal
- Maintain clean and organized workspaces
- Utilize LIMS to record sample movements, preparation, and results
- Prepare reagents such as mobile phases, internal standard solutions, extraction solvents
- Perform sample pooling, homogenization & weigh out samples as needed
- Other duties as assigned by the Lab Manager
Requirements
- Fundamental understanding of basic laboratory techniques
- Basic laboratory skills, i.e. using a balance, pipetting, and performing other quantitative techniques
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- BA or BS in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or related field
- Experience working in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory (or another regulated laboratory setting) (preferred)

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:
Provide legal guidance internally to the executive team and represent the Company in assigned legal proceedings to reduce liability and ensure legal compliance.

- Pro-actively support management and other stakeholders to assess the obligations to reduce exposure to legal risks and to optimize business opportunities.
- Cooperate with, integrate in the business, and build good relations with, stakeholders to secure mutually sustainable solutions, including our People & Culture (HR) function.
- Active cooperation with our executive team to secure alignment of our business needs across our various holdings and interests. (Real Estate, Regulatory, Research & Development, Biotechnology)

Responsibilities:
High attention to detail
Experience preparing and analyzing samples in a high-throughput laboratory
Knowledge of HPLC, QPCR, ICP-AES, LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS
Familiar with Shimadzu instrumentation and software
Experience in an ISO 17025 regulated laboratory
Working knowledge of the cannabis industry
Requirements:
Minimum: BSc in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, microbiology, or a related field
At least 1 year of post-graduate laboratory experience
Must be able to work nights, and travel

Perform various microbiological tests for MMJ products such as total plate count, yeast and mold count, ecoli, salmonella, etc. Perform various tests for pharmaceutical grade products such as Microbiological Examination of Non Sterile Products, Antimicrobial Effectiveness, Stability, Sterility Test, Environmental Monitoring, etc. Work in fast paced, dynamic environment. Visit client facilities to perform sampling when needed
An ideal candidate would possess:
- B.S, M.S or Ph.D. in Bio-Physics, Bio-Chemistry, Micro-Bio, or Chemistry Candidates with strong science backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Bio-Physics/ Chemistry/ Micro-Bio or General Lab experience is preferred.
- Must be fluent with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
- Familiarization with a wide range of analysis methods, sampling equipment and instrumentation a plus.
