Microbial Lab Analyst Full Time
AgriScience Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Microbial Analyst. We are a state licensed and certified cannabis testing facility that provides quality control testing to the marijuana and hemp industries. We need to expand our team to keep up with the rapid growth of the cannabis industry. The role of the lab analyst is to provide support in the conduct of the microbial testing processes. Working under direction of the supervisory analyst and/or lab director, lab analysts complete tasks and analysis by following the laboratory’s relevant Standard Operating Procedures. Analysts are responsible for assisting in pre-analytical (preparation, extraction), analytical (instrumental operation), and post-analytical (data review, reporting) procedures. Additionally, general lab maintenance and monitoring requirements are the lab analyst’s responsibility.
Daily tasks include:
- Operating microbial lab equipment. Perform routine test procedures including run controls, standards, daily matrix spikes, performing calibrations and assuring the scientific accuracy of results.
- Ensuring all scales are calibrated, temps recorded daily and logs maintained.
- Preparing standard solutions and reagents with all QC checks
- Maintaining tracking and status of all samples and projects in the lab. Prioritizes samples per the laboratory’s and customer’s requirements.
- Ensuring all GLP lab maintenance and cleaning is done
- Monitors inventory of all items for the lab and re-orders necessary items efficiently
- Proposes new testing methodologies for increased efficiency and/or accuracy
- Responsible for SOP documentation and review.
- Provides guidance to lab assistants
- Sample and waste disposal
- METRC data input of tests results daily
- Completing tasks as needed or directed
- Maintain a working understanding of current MED and CDPHE rules and regulations
Education/Behavioral skills
-B.S. in a natural/biological science from accredited University
-1year of Regulated Lab experience (analytical, micro, general)
-Familiarity with quality controls and assurance
- Organizes and communicates effectively. Strong time management skills. Able to prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations
- Enjoys working in a high energy environment while retaining a calm composure in stressful and tough situations

AgriScience Labs is the oldest licensed cannabis testing laboratory in the state of Colorado. We provide a full suite of testing capabilities for the cannabis marketplace and deliver accurate results with excellent customer service. Our lab is ISO 17025:2017 certified as well as certified by the state of Colorado.
AgriScience Labs is searching for 1 individual to fill 1 full time position.
The role of the Sample Prep Technician is primarily to prepare samples and deliver them to production areas in a timely manner. The lab assistant may also provide support in sample intake (pre-analytical) and data processing (post analytical) procedures under supervision. They working under direction of the supervisory analyst and/or lab technician to complete tasks by following ASL’s relevant Standard Operating Procedures. Additionally, general lab maintenance, logging and monitoring requirements are required functions. All work performed by the lab assistant must be approved by the supervisory analyst or lab director prior to completion.
Daily tasks include
- Recording temperatures; maintaining all required logs
- Weighing and preparing samples
- Lab maintenance and supplies re-ordering and management
- Performing sample login and tracking as required
- Performing sample reporting in METRC daily as required
- Sample and waste disposal
- Updates to relevant SOP’s as required
- Completing additional tasks as needed or directed
- Maintain a working understanding of current MED and CDPHE rules and reg’s
Education/ Behavioral skills
-B.S. in a natural science from accredited University
-Prior lab experience and strong pipetting technique
-Familiarity with quality controls and assurance-Proactive attitude towards safe working and practices
-Organizes and communicates effectively – keep people informed about issues that affect them.
