Job Title: Driver / Sample Technician

Job Overview: North Coast Testing Laboratories of Michigan, LLC (NCTLM) is seeking an outgoing and driven person who wants to be a part of a rapidly growing company in the burgeoning cannabis industry. The sample technician is responsible for all duties related to the collection of cannabis samples as defined by internal laboratory SOPs and Michigan Regulatory Agency (MRA) regulations including driving to and from laboratory/client sampling sites.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Follow all internal laboratory SOPs and Michigan Regulatory Agency (MRA) regulations while taking samples and driving to and from the laboratory/clients’ sampling site.
- Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate a company vehicle.
- Maintain records of samples and transportation data per relevant procedures.
- Maintain sampling supply/equipment inventory.
- Complete vehicle operational logs and minor maintenance as needed.
- Follow good documentation practices, data integrity principles and safety behaviors.
- Support laboratory-based functions including sample intake/preparation, etc.
- Follow all traffic laws.
- Coordinate intake activities with NCTLM Customer Service Representative(s) and Laboratory Director/Manager.
- Document sample and client information.
- Maintain the proper chain of custody of the samples from the client to the laboratory.
- Receive samples and verify appropriate receipt conditions, including weighing sample.
- Complete all necessary intake forms.
- Accurately enter data into company's Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Have basic understanding of Michigan inventory tracking software (METRC) and its procedures.
- Have a basic understanding of lab procedures and equipment uses.
- Provide excellent customer interaction and support.
- Work cooperatively in a team environment supporting management and co-workers.
Qualifications & Skills
- Possess a clean driving record and valid Michigan Driver’s License.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm during stressful situations
- Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor while interacting with clients.
- A passion for analytical chemistry and/or the cannabis industry
- Ability to learn and utilize company software systems

HPLC Chemist - Cannabis - Safety Compliance Facility
North Coast Testing Laboratories of Michigan, LLC
Job Summary: North Coast Testing Laboratories of Michigan (NCTLM) is a newly licensed safety compliance facility serving the Michigan marijuana market. NCTLM is a production lab that analyzes cannabis flower and cannabis products for licensed producers in the state. Our team is looking for an HPLC Chemist to perform analytical testing on customer samples according to approved laboratory methods using proper analytical techniques and advanced instrumentation.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Daily routine work extraction samples and running an analysis for cannabinoids using a HPLC.
- Work in a fast pace production laboratory with high sample volume. Keep up with Rush samples that require a 24 hour turn around time.
- Perform analytical tests on advanced instrumentation following laboratory standard operating procedures and ensuring adherence to quality assurance and quality control requirements.
- Assess data compliance and validity using established quality assurance and quality control protocol to ensure that all work is performed and documented properly and in compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Use the laboratory’s Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to report results obtained from various analyses.
- Perform validation, troubleshooting, and maintenance on new and existing advanced instrumentation.
Job Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient in the operation and troubleshooting techniques with HPLC/UPLC instrumentation.
- Ability to critically analyze and interpret data, including a chromatograph and mass spectrum.
- Proficient with electronic applications including MS Word, MS Excel, etc.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year accredited college or university in the chemical, environmental, or biological sciences and at least two (2) years experience running an HPLC.
- Experience working in a Cannabis lab is preferred.
- Troubleshooting problems with instrumentation
- Demonstrated knowledge of various analytical chemistry instrumentation, techniques, procedures, and QA/QC criteria used in an analytical and/or environmental laboratory.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
