Role Responsibilities (Finance functions)
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and record financial transactions and activity for Michigan and California operations

Vertosa is growing and is in need of a Finance Project Manager. The candidate will oversee projects that relate directly to Vertosa's revenue and expenses. This role combines the financial oversight duties of an accounting professional with the team leadership and coordination of a project manager.
Responsibilities

Objective
The Budget and Finance Manager will oversee the budget and finances of the company and its entities.
Primary Tasks and Responsibilities
- Manages the Accounting departments assignments and priorities.
- Manages financial responsibilities in consultation with the Chief Business Officer
- Prepares corporate financial statements in a timely fashion.

Position Summary:
The Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Manager will report to the CFO and formalize and scale the financial, planning & analysis functions of the business in close coordination with the accounting team. This will involve maintaining and creating financial models and budgets, as well as coordinating with accounting teams to ensure a timely month-end closing process. Also, the Senior FP&A Manager will interface with investors and creditors, so there is a high expectation for professionalism.
This is a full-time on site position in NYC with frequent travel to our HQ in Northampton, MA. This will be the first FP&A team hire, and the employee must be excited about immersing themselves in the operations of the business to grasp how the numbers connect to the broader business strategy.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain the company’s financial model, and provide analyses to the management team and department leaders to ensure financial accountability
- Partner with the Controller & IT/Data teams to develop & optimize reporting
- Support the quarterly and annual budgeting discussions
- Coordinate with the supply chain & inventory management team to ensure procurement spend is properly budgeted fo

The State of Colorado is a national leader in launching and scaling clean energy finance programs. The Colorado Energy Office (CEO) has created a robust suite of financial offerings by identifying critical market gaps, developing key private and public sector partnerships, and designing targeted programmatic and policy solutions. Notably, Colorado has one of the nation’s most successful Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) programs, which enables owners of eligible commercial and industrial buildings to finance up to 100% of energy efficiency, renewable energy, and water conservation improvements. The Colorado Energy Office also developed and deployed the RENU Loan Program to offer attractive financing for residential energy upgrades. Description of Job
The Associate Finance Programs Manager will work to advance clean energy finance efforts in the state. The Associate Finance Programs Manager will primarily support the design and management of finance programs in the commercial and residential sectors (including Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (CPACE)) and will conduct market and program research and provide administrative support to the Buildings Innovation & Energy Finance Division. This position offers a unique opportunity for the successful candidate to make real and measurable change in the clean energy space and work on innovative clean energy financing products.
The Associate Finance Programs Manager will provide ongoing evaluation and management of existing clean energy finance programs, contribute thought leadership on BDFI’s clean energy finance vision, help maintain and grow a strong network of public and private partnerships, and help implement a new suite of financial programs and initiatives that will help the state achieve its Climate Goals.

Assist the BDFI team in the management of current CEO clean energy finance programs, including but not limited to Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE), Cannabis, and other current or future programs.

The Finance Department mission is to manage, protect and report on the City of San Jose's financial resources to enhance the City's financial condition for residents, businesses, and investors. The Finance Department has four core divisions:

Positions & Duties
The Revenue Enhancement Program Manager will direct and manage the Compliance & Monitoring and Accounts Receivables programs, which includes two direct reports (1 Senior Analyst and 1 Senior Investigator Collector) and sixteen indirect reports (5 Investigator Collectors, 2 Accountants; 2 Senior Account Clerks, 3 Analysts, 1 Senior Office Specialist, and 3 Hearing Officers). The specific duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Supervises program staff by hiring, training. evaluating. and distributing work assignments for the City's Compliance & Monitoring and Accounts Receivable functions.
- Plans, implements, and manages the Revenue Enhancement Program and operations ensuring efficient utilization of resources.
- Plans implements, and monitors Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), goals, objectives, and guidelines, to establish and sustain effective program operations.
- Creates and manages master audit schedule (in-house and vendor-driven), across City’s key audit functions, including Sales Tax, Utilities Tax, Transient Occupancy Tax, and Cannabis Tax. Ensures audits occur according to schedule.
- Creates and manages revenue compliance reporting schedule, defining key report deliverables, and ensuring on-time delivery. Validates reports against system of record, to ensure report accuracy.
- Produces Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documentation for core Compliance & Monitoring and Accounts Receivables functions
- Collaborates and coordinates across City departments, with other government agencies. businesses, and organizations, ensuring efficient and appropriate delivery of services and programs.
- Performs public outreach to inform the community about pertinent program information.
- Represents program area to outside agencies and professional groups to build and maintain positive working relationships.
- Provides conflict resolution and customer service.
- Prepares and implements program work plans.
- Negotiates and administers contracts and agreements with vendors, agencies, and contractors.
- Researches and analyzes the Revenue Enhancement Program to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provides professional and technical advice and recommendations on appropriate City pronouncements, standards, policies, and procedures.
- Coordinates with other City departments regarding City policies and procedures and resolving accounting and financial problems.
- Facilitates fiscal controls and compliance with laws and regulations and generally accepted principles related to managing and collecting City receivables.
Per the City’s COVID19 Mandatory Vaccination Policy, the City requires all employees starting on or after February 11, 2022, to provide proof of vaccination as a condition of employment absent a documented medical and/or religious exemption. Proof of vaccination means that employees are required to be “up-to-date” with regards to the COVID-19 vaccine. Please be informed that due to the COVID-19 pandemic the City is currently in a hybrid work environment . The Program Manager will be required to be onsite at least three (3) days per week. In the initial period of employment, onsite expectations may be higher as the selected candidate becomes more familiar with the Department and City. The Program Manager will also be assigned a laptop by the City, with all software and software access required to perform assigned duties remotely. The Program Manager will be required to have/provide their own internet connectivity and other requirements as specified in the City’s Remote Access Policy 1.7.3, to be able to fully perform their responsibilities remotely.
Salary Information
The actual salary shall be determined by the final candidate’s qualifications and experience. The salary range for the Program Manager is $106,350.40-138,257.60. In addition to the starting salary, employees in the Program Manager classification shall also receive an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation pay.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Develop, plan, implement, and support Financial Systems such as Purchasing, AP, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (SAP, Oracle, etc)
- Determines scope of the project, deliverables, and timelines
- Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors progress for system implementation and ongoing support
- Evaluates and recommends changes to current and future systems and requirements to meet organizational needs
- Leads the design, development and implementation of new organizational processes aligned with our Financial Systems including development, configuration, and support
- Support the Finance team in all aspects of projects including general project organization, day-to-day project management, and stakeholder communications
- Responsible for the aggregation, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of data as needed
- Conducts analysis, market research, and general research as required
- Prepare business cases, reports, presentations, and other relevant materials such as research, analysis, troubleshooting, findings, and recommendations to key stakeholders and management
- Identify and implement technical and innovative solutions to accomplish team and company objectives
- Analyze projects and develop an effective strategy for completion
- Complete projects on time, on target, and on budget
- Recommend changes and improvements based on research or data findings
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a relevant business or technical field, Masters Preferred
- 5+ years of relevant work experience strongly preferred
- Prior experience implementing new systems and replacing legacy systems
- Prior experience with financial AI and RPA systems is a plus
- Collaborative, driven leader, willing to roll up your sleeves and get it done
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to master and implement new software and technologies
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment
- Ability to learn and implement new AI systems as appropriate
- Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of the organization

The Finance Manager will serve as a key participant in Senior Management, providing leadership and coordination in the accounting, administrative and budgeting activities of the organization at our new Arizona location.
The Finance Manager is responsible for the accounting operations of MFUSED Arizona, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL BRING:
- Experience with federal, state and local reporting including payroll, property tax & excise taxes.
- Deep knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting fundamentals (GAAP) from transaction entry and reconciliation to understanding financial statements.
- A firm grasp of concepts like revenue types, sales tax, payroll and payroll tax, online sales, retail vs wholesale, cash vs accrual.
- Ability to communicate effectively in ways that clients and other team members understand.
- Experience working effectively with multiple clients’ bookkeeping and accounting needs.
- In-depth experience using QuickBooks Online along with a variety of related cloud-based bookkeeping and accounting software services (Intuit payroll, Gusto payroll, Office 365, etc.)
- Ability to self-manage and deliver compliant/effective results that are on-time
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
- Coordination with headquarters in Seattle, WA.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two years of progressively responsible accounting, management & supervisory experience.
- BA in accounting, finance or equivalent degree.
- Experience managing accounting workflow and implementing process improvements.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in support of supervisory and accounting workflow management.

We are looking for someone who can make this position their main focus, who does not have multiple other clients in addition to us, to ensure they fully understand the ins and outs of our relatively complicated businesses.
Tasks include;- Entering Invoices into QB- Counting cash- Entering pay-roll hours into the online platform (Gusto)- Entering POS sales reports, making sure they made the POS cash drops- Filling out monthly Oregon cannabis tax vouchers- Filing Quarterly Oregon tax filings- Reconciling accounts- HR tasks- Making sure our Quickbooks is accurate and up-to date at all times- Providing Ownership with weekly reports
- In addition to any other accounting needs that may come up; bill paying, looking into payroll issues, etc.

Job DescriptionThe Manager will be responsible for financial accounting, reporting, analysis, budgeting, driving operating performance and aligning decision making with the business' key performance indicators. Requires working closely with operators in a cross functional and fast paced environment
Responsibilities:
- Financial Accounting
Maintain complete and accurate accounting of all business activity using QuickBooks. Ensure all external operating partners are properly folded into company processes and are in compliance with contractual terms. - Drive Performance
Partner with senior management and operations team to maximize operational efficiencies by implementing/strengthening financial tools, metrics, and processes to drive business performance. Provide financial coaching and oversight to all operating partners
- Maximize Operational Efficiencies
Ensure a “no surprises” environment. Leverage relationships with operating partners to optimize efficiencies, state compliance reporting and influence behavior
- Special Projects
Lead QuickBooks optimization - work with operators to develop processes and infrastructure to enhance functionality; provide employee training where required and ensure the platform is optimized as the business grows/matures
- Lead special projects - both analytical and process improvement (i.e.: improved management reporting, operational processes, etc.). Extend findings to provide meaningful recommendations
- Interact with Senior Management on a regular basis to deliver financial updates

What you'll be doing:

- Reviews and analyzes customer contracts and processes all contracts in company’s internal billing systems (Quickbooks)
- Ensures all invoices for customers' professional services and one-time expenditures are prepared and distributed timely.
- Utilizes systems daily to post payments and follow-up on collection issues.
- Engages with multiple internal teams to efficiently and accurately invoice customers.
- Researches and solves payment discrepancies and makes adjustments to customer accounts, as needed.
- Acts as a direct escalation point for customers regarding billing discrepancies.
- Evaluates current process flows and streamline billing processes to drive efficiency and accuracy.
- Participates in Company internal meetings and required training
- Maintains a professional image and demonstrates an understanding of and follows all Company Policies and Procedures
