Job Brief
Our food-grade manufacturing facilities in the United States and Canada need a full-time Traveling Production Technician to operate under the supervision of our Lab Manager and Director of Manufacturing. The successful candidate will spend a significant portion of their time traveling to our partner’s remote manufacturing facilities and will be responsible for producing our core menu products, testing ingredients and finished products to ensure correct composition, and identifying any health or quality control issues that need to be corrected. He or she will also participate in the R&D aspects of the job, including sample preparation, product testing, and new process trials. We’re looking for a professional with experience in detail-oriented production and or laboratory work using complex equipment and strict adherence to SOPs.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic chemical research, which includes designing and testing different formulations in the lab as well as on-site when necessary.
- Perform quality control tests on ingredients, completed products and product samples.
- Prepare samples prior to shipping them to customers.
- Analyze retrieved data and prepare reports for laboratory management.
- Follow all company policies and procedures to ensure product integrity and quality control.
- Assist with testing and calibrating lab equipment in preparation for specific tasks
- Recognize and report any food safety issues.
Requirements
- This position requires frequent travel to our remote manufacturing facilities located throughout the continental US and Canada, sometimes on short notice, as business conditions demand. Traveling up to 3 weeks at a time to continental US and Canada is expected (candidate will be remote roughly 50-60% of the time). You must maintain a valid passport and maintain eligibility to travel on domestic flights as well as to Canada. Must maintain a valid driver's license and be eligible to drive and rent cars as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferred in general chemistry or chemical engineering.
- 5+ years’ general laboratory experience required, experience in food manufacturing is preferred.
- Understand the principle of Design Of Experiment (DOE) and be able to execute experiments based on plan.
- Understand basic analytical chemistry terms and be able to use basic chemistry analytical tools.
- Be able to present data in a clear fashion.

- Develop new ingredient combinations to improve the water solubility of plant extracts, including emulsion and water-soluble powders.
- Research advanced nanoemulsion and microemulsion systems through screening new ingredients and designing new formulas to deliver targeted effects including clarity, flavor, organic label, controlled release and beyond.
- Research water-soluble powder via various combinations of processing technology and ingredient combination optionality.
- Evaluate stability, compatibility, shelf life, safety and basic specs for newly developed emulsion and powder products.

Job Brief
With the support and guidance of a manager, you will organize and execute new food and beverage formulation projects for our customers using Vertosa’s ingredients. You may plan and conduct pilot plant or factory trials. This person will support the customer with development activities (e.g. formulation, product shelf-life testing, designing for quality, etc.) You will not be working alone in the corner of a laboratory, but interacting very actively with people from functions such as innovation, sales, R&D, and our customers. This person will report directly to the Director of Product Development.

- From design to implementation, you and the product development team will be the technical experts in new product development from simple line extensions to new formulations.

Deliver successful, B2B data-driven marketing and customer acquisition campaigns to fill the funnel with sales leads.
Stay on top of market trends, competitive landscape and customer insights to constantly inform the business and improve marketing campaign results.
Take campaign from brief to concept to execution, working closely with creative and other cross-functional teams.
Identify gaps in the process and own strategic improvements resulting in more efficient campaign execution.
Manage the relationship and productivity of 3rd party consultants/agencies.
Leverage data in collaboration with consumer insights to best position campaigns and brand activations.
Define and identify meaningful measurement criteria for each campaign and activity, taking into account overall business objectives (beyond CAC).
Launch memorable, attention-grabbing brand campaigns for product launches, seasonal events, etc.
Maximize campaign assets and concepts.
Identifies areas of opportunity and uses market insight to deliver solutions.
Translates Vertosa data into meaningful campaigns to be circulated within complementary channels.
Bachelor's degree in marketing preferred with 3-5 years of experience in managing marketing tools and technology platforms in B2B-facing.
5+ years in online marketing space – including opt-in landing pages, sales pages, emails, ads and social posts – with an emphasis (and examples of) building customer funnels and marketing content campaigns that convert and deliver specific results.
5+ years in copywriting, with the ability to translate technical knowledge into easily understood content.
Understanding of Hubspot.
Understanding of ABM and supporting technical and operational processes to align sales and marketing.
Strong collaborator who seeks out cross-functional feedback and input to build comprehensive strategies.

Job brief
We are looking for an outstanding Technical Service Manager with a cosmetics background to drive market adoption and ensure customer success in using Vertosa’s infusions. This person will engage in Product Development and provide technical leadership to the project team, technicians, customers, and other lab personnel. They will work with various groups in the organization including, sales, QA, R&D, manufacturing, and business development. This person will report directly to the Vice President of Research and Development.
Responsibilities:
- Provide sales with technical expertise needed to work closely with customers. This may include participation in customer presentations to resolve product issues and/or taking customer technical calls as well as preparing documentation for the sales team.
- Responsible for leading all technical activity of a project within applications including new products, current products, and competitive ingredient samples.
- Coordinate the work of all resources, providing technical mentoring in design and execution of experiments.
- Work closely with manufacturing on integrating new formulas into production and assisting with scale-up.
- Provide research support in all marketing efforts, including the expansion of existing product applications and innovative applications.
- Provide technical leadership to all internal departments. Provide insight on new manufacturing techniques and materials, as required. Provide technical support to help resolve quality issues associated with application.
- Direct technical training and give presentations to customers and other departments within the company as needed. This will include preparing new product demonstrations for trade shows and sales meetings.
- Effectively lead groups to achieve company goals and objectives. This includes completing projects on time and communicating results to move projects forward.
- Provide for resources to document, compile, and locate technical information for retrieval by technical service staff. Keep abreast of current developments in cannabis and infusion science research.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry/Cosmetic/Food Science or related discipline.
- 5+ years of related technical service/research and development experience, including working directly with sales and customers.
- Application Development experience in the cosmetics industry. Additional experience in food and pet products application development is a big plus.
- Exceptional project management skills. PMP certification is preferred.
- Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of products and formulations and have familiarity with different cosmetics formulations (gels, lotions, gloss, etc.).
- Familiarity working concept to commercialization and experience working directly with manufacturers. B2B skills are helpful.
- Ability to design tests and present results to customers and management
- Experience with obtaining various certifications (organic, kosher, etc.) is a big plus. A sensory science background is nice to have.
- Computer skills: Microsoft office suite
- Ability to manage self in an environment of multiple and changing priorities and to motivate and guide other individuals toward goal achievement.
- Ability to learn quickly and work independently or in close collaboration with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams in a fast-paced environment.

We’re looking for an experienced creative graphic designer to join our team, working out of our Oakland office. In this role, you will help us make beautiful and engaging visuals across our marketing channels. You are the industry expert, continuously increasing your understanding of industry norms and trends in order to produce the most effective and persuasive work possible.
Reporting to the Head of Growth, the Creative Designer will focus on visually conveying a particular message, idea or concept. They rely on their knowledge and proficiency with current graphic design programs to produce graphic art and visual materials for promotions, advertisements, campaigns, websites, videos, social media, packaging, articles, newsletters and other mediums as needed. The Creative Designer will act as an internal creative resource to our sales, marketing and operations team members within the company. Your designs will engage prospective clients, highlight our brand partnerships, and support our overall marketing initiatives. You’ll help us visually inspire people about cannabis.
Responsibilities
Create and design various materials for print and digital collateral
Ensure projects are completed with high quality with the ability to work on tight deadlines.
Experience designing marketing assets and branding materials strongly preferred
Establish creative direction for the company as well as brand guidelines
Prioritize and manage multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions
Perform retouching and manipulation of images
Generate ideas and assist in the creation of content for social platforms.
Engage with clients & strategic partners during design conceptualization for co-branding projects.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design preferred or equivalent work experience
3-5 years of experience in graphic design
Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography fundamentals, print, and the web
Familiarity with HTML and CSS preferred
