Responsibilities:
- Assists the Store Manager in the day to day operations of the dispensary location, including but not limited to:
- Collaborating with the Store Manager to implement and manage company and dispensary best practices, policies, and procedures;

Job Overview
The Assistant Dispensary Manager is responsible for managing a team of dispensary employees for the company’s cannabis dispensary located in Saco, Maine. This position will involve supporting leadership with all aspects of dispensary operations, including coaching and developing the retail store team.
We are seeking a passionate, driven, detailed-oriented, and collaborative manager to assist with leadership, direction, and support of the daily operations of the dispensary, including handling the needs of all patients and developing a team of budtenders who are enthusiastic about delivering a best-in-class cannabis retail experience that is compliant with state and local rules and regulations. Responsibilities
- Skills in retail business financials (e.g. payroll, profit, and loss) and driving sales growth.
- Experience creating store-specific strategies and managing your team to deliver results.
- Knowledge of retail business fundamentals for total store: sales trends, inventory management, guest shopping patterns & satisfaction, pricing and promotions strategies, and specialty businesses
- Skills in setting and planning total store quarterly business priorities and managing a team to deliver on sales goals. Communicate and coach staff regularly to ensure the dispensary's excellence in service, labor practices, and sales best practices.
- Understand all weekly and monthly sales information.
- Manage employee schedules and employee work hours and vacation requests.
- Manage Leaf Logix inventory system and Weedmaps integration.

- Accurately tracking what you have in store daily.
- Inputting inventory into Leaf Logix immediately upon delivery to the store.
- Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly inventory counts of medical cannabis, ancillary products, and dispensing supplies.
Compliance
- Ensure that all employees are appropriately licensed with OMP
- Ensure that all state MMJ laws are being followed
Finance
- Daily Financial Review: End-of-day cash reconciliation, change orders, etc
- Vendor payments - pay with check and post on Flock marked “paid”.
- Purchase incidental store items as needed on company Amex. Post receipt to Flock. under “receipts”. A spending limit of $100, above $100 requires management approval.
Marketing
- Analyze sales data and make recommendations on specials and marketing campaigns and loyalty offers.
HR
- Manage weekly schedule
- Meet labor targets established by management
Work Hours
- Minimum 40 hours on-site at the retail location. Available by phone on days off for emergency requests
- Cover storefront in the event of labor issues (no calls/no shows)
Qualifications
Education: Minimum of a high school or bachelor's degree required.
Work Experience:

- Previous experience in a cannabis retail environment is preferred.
- A thorough understanding of state and local medical Cannabis laws and regulations, and how they apply to the operations of the Company is preferred.

The Assistant Store Manager provides support to the Store Manager through the management and control of day to day operations of the assigned retail location. The Assistant Store Manager provides supervision to the sales floor and acts as a point of escalation to all customer or security concerns and also assists in the training, development, coaching, evaluation, and discipline of all retail associates.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise the daily staff activities for a variety of factors including flow, staffing needs, quality of service, inventory levels, atmosphere, and security
- Provides operation support to the team to create a positive customer experience and an engaging and supportive work environment
- Executes all Manager on Duty responsibilities including store opening and closing procedures
- Monitors all transactions and cash, and performs record keeping duties including preparing bank deposits and counting drawers and safes
- Coordinates with vendors and security to coordinate the purchase, delivery, and transfer of cannabis products, retail products, and other equipment and supplies
- Monitors and ensures inventory levels and stocking are appropriate throughout the day
- Ensure the success of all retail associates through training on company SOPs and best practices
- Assist with the definition and creation of retail SOPs
- Assist staff with customer escalations and resolve customer complaints or incidents
- Address performance deficiencies in a timely manner
- Assist with the hiring process including reviewing applications and resumes and screening candidates for qualifications
- Assist management and Human Resources by documenting performance related concerns and making recommendations on disciplinary action
- Mentors team members and provides coaching and feedback to new team members through a formal review process
- Assists with the upkeep of the store’s digital product menus
- Responsible for maintaining the store in a clean, organized, safe manner with special attention paid to merchandising standards
- Creates and maintains the retail associates’ on-site personnel files
- Stay current on product and cannabis related information and act as a resource for new knowledge to the staff
- Fulfills job duties of support staff, as needed, to compensate for staffing shortages, meal or break times, higher than normal sales volume, or to support general operations
- Represent the brand in a positive and compliant manner while providing the best-in-class service that consistently exceeds our customer’s expectations
- Must maintain a clean and professional appearance while in our customer-based environment or while representing our brand
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- 2 or more years supervisory experience or demonstrated leadership skills in retail, hospitality, or customer service required
- 1 or more years of work experience in cannabis industry preferred
- Knowledge of basic computer skills, and prior experience with Point of Sale software preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, bachelor’s degree preferred
- Must be 21 years of age or older

Maggie's Farm Assistant Store Manager is an integral role that works with the Store Manager to ensure store operations run smoothly, and properly in compliance with applicable rules and regulations. This role will assist in meeting the needs of customers/patients and developing a professional team that is passionate about cannabis and the benefits of the product. They will ensure employees maintain strict adherence to laws and regulations related to recreational and medical marijuana while providing the best customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive the implementation of existing and new company policies
- Lead the retail team to deliver the highest level of customer service through consistent coaching, feedback, training, and development
- Maintain and educate retail team in detailed knowledge of products and strains, inventory, and industry trends
- Stay current and partner with company Compliance Department on all state/local laws and regulations for cannabis sales to ensure dispensaries compliance
- Maintain sales, retention, and payroll goals set by the Leadership team
- Support in development of schedules and other operational needs
- Participate in performance evaluations, terminations, disciplinary action, promotions, and provide input on hiring; work with Talent Acquisition team for hiring needs
- Manage product inventory by working closely with Store Manager to ensure all inventory levels are meeting store and customer satisfaction
- Provide feedback and solutions to meet all customer satisfaction needs throughout the entire customer service journey; in-store or post reviews
- Responsible for opening and closing duties for the dispensary per company SOPS
- Ensure all marketing and visual updates are executed in a timely manner
- Ensure accuracy in reporting, cash management, new hire paperwork, I9 forms, scheduling etc.
- Clearly communicate with all patients/customers, employees, management, support team, executive team, and vendors both written and verbal
- Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and professional work environment; including but not limited to stock room, sales floor, breakroom, bathroom, and all other store property
- Help create and implement ways to increase customer awareness and satisfaction to continue achieving local market recognition/awards such as “Best Of”
- Ability to remain calm in many different circumstances and adapt to change

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, & Skills)
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Must be 21 years of age or older

Under the direction of the Dispensary Manager, the Assistant manager oversees the operation of the dispensary.
