CORE JOB DUTIES
- Conduct full cycle of audit engagements and SOX audits including risk assessments, audit scoping, process walkthrough and documentation, controls testing and substantive testing, and to conclude, report and remediate on the audit findings.
- Acts as a leader with junior staff members, providing coaching and regular feedback to encourage growth and improvement.
- Assist with fraud investigation or other ethics violations as requested by Cresco's senior management.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS
- Ability to lead and take initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other relevant fields with at least 5 years of Internal/External Audit or Internal Controls experience. Master's Degree or MBA preferred.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to conduct interviews with the process owners, ask good questions, document the process flows and present to management.

Duties
Some of the duties you will perform are:
Complete evaluation of fiscal activities, financial records, procedures, processes and policy to determine if licensees are in compliance with applicable tax/fee laws and has correctly reported their tax liability.- Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of established accounting procedures, systems and internal controls; check for compliance with state statues, regulations, and institutional policies, evaluate efficiency of operations, audit trails, and accuracy of reports and records.
- Recognize signs of fraud and seek guidance from a higher level auditor or supervisor for future course of action.
- Independently conduct audits of wineries, breweries, distributors, spirits retailers, distilleries, craft distillers and cannabis retailers to determine the extent of tax and fee liability; provide continuous education and direction in preparation, accuracy and timeliness of required reporting; verify beer, wine, spirit and cannabis purchases, sales, and other operational activities; complete an analysis of the licensees internal control and record keeping systems; determine amount of tax, penalty and assessment due for each audit.
- Understand and apply the RCW and WAC associated with Cannabis, Spirits, and Beer & Wine audits. Discuss findings and issues with licensee to inform them of the required activities as referenced in applicable RCW & WAC.
- Provide audit findings and recommendations for corrective actions to licensees, accountants, attorneys, agency management, and other governmental agencies.
- Perform investigative audits of liquor manufacturers, importers, wholesalers and retailers to determine extent of compliance with liquor laws and regulations.
- Travel to and from locations of auditees and work sites; work at locations while conducting audits.
- Train other auditors in techniques of field auditing and participates as a team member on large and complex audits.
- Collect data from the systems of records used for Cannabis, Spirits, and Beer & Wine.

Qualified candidates should demonstrate experience in and familiarity with regulatory compliance procedures in high-regulated industries. Duties
Some of the duties you will perform are:
Complete evaluation of fiscal activities, financial records, procedures, processes and policy to determine if licensees are in compliance with applicable tax/fee laws and has correctly reported their tax liability.- Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of established accounting procedures, systems and internal controls; check for compliance with state statues, regulations, and institutional policies, evaluate efficiency of operations, audit trails, and accuracy of reports and records.
- Recognize signs of fraud and seek guidance from a higher level auditor or supervisor for future course of action.
- Independently conduct audits of wineries, breweries, distributors, spirits retailers, distilleries, craft distillers and cannabis retailers to determine the extent of tax and fee liability; provide continuous education and direction in preparation, accuracy and timeliness of required reporting; verify beer, wine, spirit and cannabis purchases, sales, and other operational activities; complete an analysis of the licensees internal control and record keeping systems; determine amount of tax, penalty and assessment due for each audit.
- Understand and apply the RCW and WAC associated with Cannabis, Spirits, and Beer & Wine audits. Discuss findings and issues with licensee to inform them of the required activities as referenced in applicable RCW & WAC.
- Provide audit findings and recommendations for corrective actions to licensees, accountants, attorneys, agency management, and other governmental agencies.
- Perform investigative audits of liquor manufacturers, importers, wholesalers and retailers to determine extent of compliance with liquor laws and regulations.
- Travel to and from locations of auditees and work sites; work at locations while conducting audits.
- Train other auditors in techniques of field auditing and participates as a team member on large and complex audits.
- Collect data from the systems of records used for Cannabis, Spirits, and Beer & Wine.
Qualifications

Leave Time

The WSLCB Finance Division is announcing an exciting opportunity for a Revenue Auditor 2 in Spokane, WA region. This position reports directly to the Audit Supervisor in the WSLCB's Finance Division. The position serves and complements the WSLCB's mission and goals through independent analysis of the production, purchase, and sale of liquor and cannabis products, by educating licensees to improve compliance, and by providing assistance to other agency divisions and regulatory agencies.

Duties
Some of the duties you will perform are:
Complete evaluation of fiscal activities, financial records, procedures, processes and policy to determine if licensees are in compliance with applicable tax/fee laws and has correctly reported their tax liability.- Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of established accounting procedures, systems and internal controls; check for compliance with state statues, regulations, and institutional policies, evaluate efficiency of operations, audit trails, and accuracy of reports and records.
- Recognize signs of fraud and seek guidance from a higher level auditor or supervisor for future course of action.
- Independently conduct audits of wineries, breweries, distributors, spirits retailers, distilleries, craft distillers and cannabis retailers to determine the extent of tax and fee liability; provide continuous education and direction in preparation, accuracy and timeliness of required reporting; verify beer, wine, spirit and cannabis purchases, sales, and other operational activities; complete an analysis of the licensees internal control and record keeping systems; determine amount of tax, penalty and assessment due for each audit.
- Understand and apply the RCW and WAC associated with Marijuana, Spirits, and Beer & Wine audits. Discuss findings and issues with licensee to inform them of the required activities as referenced in applicable RCW & WAC.
- Provide audit findings and recommendations for corrective actions to licensees, accountants, attorneys, agency management, and other governmental agencies.
- Perform investigative audits of liquor manufacturers, importers, wholesalers and retailers to determine extent of compliance with liquor laws and regulations.
- Travel to and from locations of auditees and work sites; work at locations while conducting audits.
- Train other auditors in techniques of field auditing and participates as a team member on large and complex audits.
- Collect data from the systems of records used for Marijuana, Spirits, and Beer & Wine.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Experience for required qualifications can be gained through various combinations of formal professional employment and educational experience. See below for how you may qualify.
Option 1:
A Bachelor’s degree or above which includes 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting
AND
Two (2) years of relevant professional experience in accounting or auditing. Intermediate skill level using Microsoft Word and Excel.
Option 2:
An Associate’s degree which includes 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting
AND
Four (4) years of relevant professional experience in accounting or auditing. Intermediate skill level using Microsoft Word and Excel.
Option 3:
Six (6) years of relevant professional experience in accounting or auditing, along with 18 quarter or 12 semester hours of coursework in accounting. Intermediate skill level using Microsoft Word and Excel.
The following certifications or degree may substitute for one year of experience:
- Certified Public Accountant
- Certified Internal Auditor
- Certified Government Financial Manager
- Certified Management Accountant
- A Master’s degree in a financial related field

- Conduct full cycle of audit engagements and SOX audits including risk assessments, audit scoping, process walkthrough and documentation, controls testing and substantive testing, and to conclude, report and remediate on the audit findings.

- Assist with fraud investigation or other ethics violations as requested by Cresco's senior management.

- Strong understanding of accounting process and financial controls.

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other relevant fields with at least 5 years of Internal/External Audit or Internal Controls experience. Master's Degree or MBA preferred.

- Execute all METRC/Leaflogix adjustments as directed
- Compliance auditor will report directly to the Lead Auditor and will take direction and additional duties as necessary

About the Job:
The Internal Auditor - Electronic Information Systems will be responsible for auditing all electronic compliance systems in the Company, including, but not limited to, data collection and filing systems. Job Description
The primary function of this position is to design, coordinate, and conduct compliance audits that monitor the activities of PharmaCann’s dispensary and manufacturing facilities in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal company policies and procedures. This role will also be responsible for creating written audit reports, summarizing results, recommending controls and risk mitigation strategies, and finding ways to enhance and simplify the company’s audit process to make PharmaCann operations as efficient and effective as possible. We are looking for a self-motivated individual to play a key role in designing and implementing the company’s monitoring, auditing, and risk assessment capabilities. You should be able to work independently and effectively communicate with cross-functional stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, Retail Operations, and Manufacturing to implement audit and monitoring processes to reduce risk and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Design, scope, and execute compliance audits, both in-person and virtual, at dispensary and manufacturing sites.
- Produce formal audit reports based on audit and monitoring findings for presentation to senior leadership.
- Perform root cause analysis of audit findings and recommend corrective actions for risk mitigation.
- Monitor the Company’s employee reporting hotline and internal incident reports to identify areas of risk.
- Develop data-driven analytics of compliance metrics.
- Be a strong business partner by innovating the risk assessment process and identifying solutions to findings to ensure successful remediation and compliant operations.
- Maintain current knowledge of business operations, along with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies and procedures.
- Promote a culture of compliance across the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Completion of audit certification, such as CIA, CFE, CPA, CHIAP preferred.
- At least three (3) years of professional experience in compliance audit in a regulated industry.
- Strong data analytics skills and ability to write clear reports for senior leadership.
- Ability to research and understand compliance obligations, SOPs, regulations, and applicable laws, as well as ability to convert such requirements into a logical and practical audit scope.
- Understanding of how to translate monitoring and audit findings into actionable SOPs, process, or system improvements.

The Compliance Auditor works directly under the Compliance Manager. Compliance with internal and state regulations is critical to the business operation. The Auditor will work at the direction and discretion of the compliance manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute physical inventory count, cycle count and destruction quarantine count.
- Maintain all logs and proper documentation as directed by compliance manager in real time.

- Responsible for reading and understanding regulatory requirements and company policy.
- Responsible for legal compliance with all regulatory requirements, by researching, auditing and verifying a variety of data
- Adapt to a variety of working environments including offices, with ability to gather information from a range of employees.
- Responsible for accessing and updating documentation using a variety of software applications and operating systems
- Responsible for reading and understanding all Standard Operating Procedures and documentation accessed during audits and the verification process
- Responsible for performing daily audits of the following systems: testing results, product labels, testing result labels, product packaging and exit packaging for all products
- Coordinate the packaging labeling to reflect accurate testing data for wholesale transactions.
- Completes Audit Reports following daily audits to initiate next steps for Investigators, Auditors, and Management staff.

Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required;
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in any field preferred;

Position Overview

Responsibilities
- Become familiar with state and local requirements for finances and accounting, business structure, related procedures and recordkeeping in the jurisdiction of business operations.
