Who You Are
As a Senior Field Grower/Merchandiser, you will work on the front of our daily operations supporting our Field Growers and Merchandisers, acting as a backup to our Lead Field Grower and Lead Merchandiser in our farms in Victoria. Responsibilities
- Support the team as a training champion for field growers and merchandisers to ensure new team members are properly trained and that recurring training is scheduled and regularly executed;
- Act as the partner and backup to our Lead Field Grower and Lead Merchandiser, fulfilling on training and admin duties as assigned;
- Be a team leader and role model in ensuring company policies and procedures are met;

TITLE: Senior Farming & Growing Accounting Manager
J&J Family of Farms is looking for a responsible Senior Farming & Grower Accounting Manager responsible for effective communication with Farm Management and Grower Partners, along with the daily processing of subsidiary ledger and general ledger, calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain financial data for use in maintaining accounting records.
JOB DUTIES:
- Manage and lead a team of farm and grower accounts payable specialists to perform timely and consistent accounting principles
- Manage Grower Contracts reconciliations to ensure that the company comply with the terms of the contracts and report on a timely and accurate manner back to the Growers and company management.
- Ability to work on journal entries, performing calculations, general ledger account research, reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, troubleshooting, farm budgeting, Forecasting 52-week Farm cashflow and 4-week grower cash flow.
- Developing relationships with vendors and customers, maintaining organized files, producing and analyzing various management reports, and other duties as assigned by Accounting Manager.

Job Overview:
Maui Greens is looking for an experienced greenhouse grower specializing in leafy greens production to work in the company’s plant science department to facilitate the greenhouse production of our unique living products. This role would augment the existing production staff and greenhouse management to provide experience in optimizing horticulture and production outputs of the facility. - Preferably 2 years experience in the food industry.
- Preferably 1-2 years experience in supervision.
- Bilingual in both written and spoken (English/Spanish) is preferred.
- Additional professional certifications are preferred e.g. Six Sigma.

About This Role:
This new position will report to the Leafy Supply Chain Lead and will work closely with internal stakeholders (R&D, Business Development, Quality, Finance) and external stakeholders (growers, seed suppliers, nursery operators, leafy green processors, etc.) to develop commercial agronomic understanding of our materials to maximize production and quality.
Pairwise will launch a new category of leafy greens with compelling consumer benefits in 2023. This position will oversee leafy grower management and support and utilize keen communication skills to establish and build relationships with growers, contractors, and vendors. Strategic thinking and analysis are critical as responsibilities include yield and seed forecasting, acreage planning, grower education and resource allocation for field activities. The impact of this role on the organization is significant, managing all growing areas across North America and influencing product costs, working capital and collaborations.
This candidate will also be comfortable understanding internally generated data and technical capabilities and how to best leverage externally. They should be motivated to provide feedback on the technical discovery and development processes, working with many internal stakeholders. Essential Functions:
- Manage existing grower network and assist in the identification/ qualification of new growers.

Milmont Greenhouses provides the Shenandoah Valley and Central Virginia customers with an extensive array of skillfully nurtured plants and gardening supplies. Most of the plants we sell are grown on site and sold in our year-round garden center. We are looking for a motivated and skilled individual to join our management team as the Senior Grower/Production Manager.
The potential candidate should be a highly collaborative team member who will put Milmont's mission first and help to deliver remarkable experiences to our customers. The Senior Grower/Production Manager is responsible for producing high quality annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables, hanging baskets and potted plants. Our growing facilities include 24 greenhouses totaling 58,000 sq. ft. and over 1.5 acres of outdoor growing area.

Examples of Important Duties
- Assist with coordinating a complex schedule of crop production for retail and wholesale sales, special orders, and outdoor seasonal landscaping.
- Produce all seasonal annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables, hanging baskets and potted plants.
- Monitor and control greenhouse temperatures, humidity, soil fertility and moisture levels.
- Receive seed, plug and herbaceous for production.
- Specify materials and supplies to support production operations and oversee ordering and receiving.
- Use IPM practices to identify, monitor and manage pests, diseases and weeds.
- Assist and make recommendations on maintaining a yearly biological control program.
- Maintain a clean and orderly growing environment.
- Direct and guide production area staff, seasonal staff, volunteers and interns throughout the year.

Purpose/Objective: The purpose of the senior grower role is to oversee all aspects of growing within a phase.
This role is integral in ensuring plant health and consistent production.
Key Job Duties:
- Supervise, coach, and assist labor supervisor, assistant grower and senior assistant grower in the areas
of good horticultural practices and growing techniques in any areas where assistance is required.
- Cooperate and assist other growers and senior assistant growers in the areas of climate, irrigation,
growing techniques, production trials, labor savings techniques and in any areas where assistance is
required and as requested by other growers, maintenance, and management.
- Ensure team is following the processes to monitor and report on plant growth & plant balance and those
factors that influence production and plant health such as: fertilizer; irrigation; CO2 dosage; climatic

- Develop and implement growing strategies to optimize plant balance and production based on crop
quality and climatic conditions.
- Cooperate and assist team with climate, irrigation, growing techniques, production trials, labor savings

- Ensure growing department is prepared for (inter-)planting periods.
- Manage crop forecasting processes and ensure team is aligned and consistent.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

· Working knowledge of quality systems, food safety programs, GMPs, food defense, and HACCP
· Ability to identify insects and plant diseases
· Highly proficient in knowledge of fertilization calculations

What You'll Do
This will be a hands-on role where you will be harvesting and transplanting crops, monitoring and controlling plant nutrition, and managing high-intensity plant production equipment
The Senior Grower will oversee and direct a variety of farm-wide activities:
Establish germination, propagation and growing processes to generate reliable high yield farm output to meet weekly demand
Lead a team of associates to meet production schedules
Coordinate equipment, raw materials, processing tools, training and resource balancing to meet daily seeding, transplanting and harvesting schedules
Establish guidelines for process completion time commitments
Monitors and adjusts irrigation, nutrient, lighting and climate to minimize farm environment variation and optimize plant health and output

Senior Grower/Production Manager
Milmont Greenhouses provides the Shenandoah Valley and Central Virginia customers with an extensive array of skillfully nurtured plants and gardening supplies. Most of the plants we sell are grown on site and sold in our year-round garden center. We are looking for a motivated and skilled individual to join our management team as the Senior Grower/Production Manager.
The potential candidate should be a highly collaborative team member who will put Milmont's mission first and help to deliver remarkable experiences to our customers. The Senior Grower/Production Manager is responsible for producing high quality annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables, hanging baskets and potted plants. Our growing facilities include 24 greenhouses totaling 58,000 sq. ft and over 1.5 acres of outdoor growing area.

Examples of Important Duties
- Assist with coordinating a complex schedule of crop production for retail and wholesale sales, special orders, and outdoor seasonal landscaping.

Purpose/Objective: The purpose of the senior grower role is to oversee all aspects of growing within a phase.
This role is integral in ensuring plant health and consistent production.
Key Job Duties:
- Supervise, coach, and assist labor supervisor, assistant grower and senior assistant grower in the areas of good horticultural practices and growing techniques in any areas where assistance is required.
- Cooperate and assist other growers and senior assistant growers in the areas of climate, irrigation, growing techniques, production trials, labor savings techniques and in any areas where assistance is required and as requested by other growers, maintenance, and management.
- Ensure team is following the processes to monitor and report on plant growth & plant balance and those factors that influence production and plant health such as: fertilizer; irrigation; CO2 dosage; climatic conditions: temperature; total light, etc.
- Develop and implement growing strategies to optimize plant balance and production based on crop quality and climatic conditions.
- Cooperate and assist team with climate, irrigation, growing techniques, production trials, labor savings techniques and in any areas where assistance is required and is requested by other growers, maintenance, and management.
- Ensure growing department is prepared for (inter-)planting periods.
- Manage crop forecasting processes and ensure team is aligned and consistent.
- Work collaboratively with internal IPM manager to monitor and react to pest pressure in the greenhouses
- Monitor fertilizer blends and work with growing team to set best fertilizer mix practices.
- Organize and sign off work plan for upcoming week with the labor supervisor.
- Work with operations to set and monitor quality standards for crop work
- Record plant measurements and forecast by crop event on a weekly basis within Priva growing computer
- Monitor and Control o Production and product quality. o Computerized greenhouse environments. o Irrigation schedule and CO2 settings o H2O2 dosing system o Nutrient and environmental systems to maintain specified level and conditions.
- Send water, disease samples, tissue to a laboratory as needed.

Skills/Knowledge:

The Senior Grower/Production Manager is responsible for producing high quality annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables, hanging baskets and potted plants. Examples of Important Duties
- Assist with coordinating a complex schedule of crop production for retail and wholesale sales, special orders, and outdoor seasonal landscaping.
- Produce all seasonal annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables, hanging baskets and potted plants.
- Monitor and control greenhouse temperatures, humidity, soil fertility and moisture levels.
- Receive seed, plug and herbaceous for production.
- Specify materials and supplies to support production operations and oversee ordering and receiving.
- Use IPM practices to identify, monitor and manage pests, diseases and weeds.
- Assist and make recommendations on maintaining a yearly biological control program.
- Maintain a clean and orderly growing environment.
- Direct and guide production area staff, seasonal staff, volunteers and interns throughout the year.
- Update General Manager and Sales Managers continuously on crop status.
- Maintain accurate records, files and inventories for plant propagation, plant labels, grow lights, crop production, pesticide applications.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient knowledge of plant identification, greenhouse control systems, plant cultural requirements, and disease/pest recognition.
- Broad growing knowledge of diverse plant material.
- Demonstrated skill in all areas of crop production.
- Ability to use hand tools and power equipment safely.
- Willingness to share horticultural knowledge with customers and staff in informal settings and through formally scheduled programs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including use of Microsoft Office suite and other specialized programs.
- Ability to plan and direct the work of production area staff, seasonal staff, volunteers, and interns.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lifting objects regularly (up to 35 lbs.).
