Hi! Nice to see you made it to Sticky Thumb's job posting. We are probably not the first or the last delivery service posting you will visit today so let's get some things out of the way before you keep browsing, and let us tell you why Sticky Thumb is the right team for YOU (and yeah we're a little biased ;)
First things YOU DON'T HAVE TO USE YOUR CAR - we won't say any names but we know the other guys are going to ask you to put the miles and wear and tear on your car. That's a bad idea. BAY AREA NATIVE - Sticky Thumb was born in San Mateo County, a company that is owned by Bay Area natives dedicated to giving back to and improving OUR community. We root for the underdog, we shop local, and believe in economic sustainability. We are not backed by big pharma - this is a grassroots effort and if any of the above is important to you then you are already looking like a part of the Sticky Thumb.
Let's GROW TOGETHER - We want to see our drivers grow and thrive in the cannabis industry. Driving is fun so let's start there, but know that opportunity for professional growth are available and as we expand within the Bay internal pomoting will always be a priority.
If our top three reasons why you should choose Sticky Thumb, then let's part ways here...but if you think we might be a match : )...Read on and send us that resume! We look forward to meeting you

About Role
----------
The candidate will find three overlapping phases to the work at Plenty:
- Arrive, get a handle on production systems, teams and practices. Work closely with the current growing team to understand their daily activities, and the problems that they're solving.
- Take ownership of problem solving in the farm, giving guidance to the team, prioritizing issues and addressing them cross functionally.
- Looking forward to future farm designs, the Grower will work closely with the engineering and plant science team to plan operational processes, modify designs to improve performance. The grower will also recruit, train and deploy growers to the growing network of Plenty farms.
In the arrival phase, the Grower will have to grasp and audit farm mechanical, software and cultural systems quickly. Plenty farms are the most intensive production systems on the planet, yielding multiples over the most intensive greenhouse systems. This intensity inherently brings with it increased complexity, sensitivity and unique vulnerabilities. These variables can all be managed but require a manager who has deep technical expertise, and the management skills to prioritize tasks and problem solving for the team in a way that increases their effectiveness and manages the tension between difficulty and importance. This phase will require understanding our systems and applying prioritization frameworks to them. All phases will require first principles rather than by rote thinking about farm problems and solutions due to the unique nature of the Plenty farm, and the unique nature of the Plenty business model. Expect to spend much of your day in the farm, working directly with crops and growers.
In the ownership phase, this candidate will have to take charge of growing team and begin to effectively guide them to solve problems and operate the farm effectively. Simultaneously the Grower will have to deeply integrate with company management to help drive the integration of engineering and plant science into these solutions. This will require a grower that is collaborative and capable of working and interacting with a diverse leadership/management team. All phases will require first principles rather than by rote thinking about farm problems and solutions due to the unique nature of the Plenty farm, and the unique nature of the Plenty business model.
In the forward looking phase, the Grower will work closely with Engineering and Plant Science to improve future farm designs and performance. This will require thoughtful analysis of existing designs and practical advice on how they can be improved to improve company economics. This phase will require collaborative, creative thought engagement with Engineering, Plant Science, Project/Program Management and deployment teams. All phases will require first principles rather than by rote thinking about farm problems and solutions due to the unique nature of the Plenty farm, and the unique nature of the Plenty business model.
What We're Looking For
----------------------
- 7-10-years' experience as a grower in commercial controlled environment agriculture (CEA) plant production
- 4-5 years of that experience as a team lead or facility manager
- Experience driving efforts to collect more/new data; uses intuition and deep domain expertise to improve data collection and analysis
- Experience looking at complex data sets and drawing conclusions and taking action
- Excited to develop new ways to growing plants, utilizing innovative approaches in plant growth and engineering.
- Creative, critical thinker, willing to depart from the conventional approach, first principles thinker
- Strong cross-functional skills with the ability to work effectively with plant scientists and engineers to create new equipment and operating procedures.
- A leader excited about challenging the status quo and building new things who has both strong institutional and conventional experience, but has taken chances and stepped outside of the typical career path for growers.
- First principles thinker. A leader that doesn't solve problems by rote memory but instead by solving from the fundamentals. Capable of complex problem solving outside of the standard greenhouse fare.
- B.S. or M.S. preferred in horticulture, or similar field
About Plenty
------------
Plenty is here to change the way people eat, making extraordinary flavor and nutrition more available in a way that's better for people and the planet. We build farms that can put craveable flavor first while delivering exceptional yields. And our produce is always pesticide-free and grown using less than 1% of the land and 5% of the water of outdoor farming.

Creating as a team and growing as a team.
At Dama Financial, we’re bringing financial inclusion to an industry that is defining our decade – cannabis. We’ve spent the past 3 years building products that now serve as the building blocks to an entire financial framework for businesses in the underserved cannabis industry.
We’re seeking hungry self-starters to join our team of optimistic problem solvers. We believe that success is driven by a combination of passion and curiosity. Together, both fuel rapid innovation, a required component to leading the market with best-in-class offerings. If you identify with our mission and have what it takes to add value to our organization, submit your resume today.
An overview of the problem we’re tackling.
With limited access to financial services, about 70 percent of all cannabis-related businesses (CRBs) use cash for all their transactions. Cash-intensive operations can pose major threats to public safety, incur high costs to properly manage, and be vulnerable to employee theft. 10 percent of all financial and product loss in the cannabis industry is attributed to external robberies that some businesses attempt to combat with security equipment and armed guards – a costly risk to manage. Even with those safety measures in place, there’s a bigger problem to worry about: employee theft which contributes to about 90% of all loss in the industry.
From an efficiency perspective, cash ridden CRBs operate at a fundamental disadvantage. With cannabis sales expected to reach $75 billion by 2030, CRBs need to establish a reliable financial framework to thrive.
Viable financial solutions for CRBs exist and are readily available. Dama Financial was founded by entrepreneurs that have a proven track record of successfully leveraging modern technology to provide financial inclusion to historically unbanked categories. During the past 3 years, Dama’s leadership team has turned their focus to addressing the challenges burdening the cannabis industry – the unbanked category of our time.
Our unique positioning enables us to deliver.
Dama Financial, through its bank partners, provides CRBs with access to transparent and sustainable banking and payment solutions. Using innovative technology, data and artificial intelligence, Dama exceeds the compliance and regulatory requirements for servicing CRBs, bringing legitimacy to the rapidly growing cannabis industry.
Dama’s comprehensive and compliant financial framework offers CRBs the option to maintain cashless operations, reducing their exposure to security risks while improving their business efficiencies and operational focus.
