POSITION SUMMARY:
The role of this position is to produce a consistent product in all Growing areas, with regard to quality, quantity, predictability, forecasting, safety, and cost-effectiveness. This position works closely with the Growing Manager in oversight of the department. Work schedule to include weekends and nights as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct daily assignments and personnel to maintain proper production schedules and planning.
- Aid personnel by providing technical assistance relating to the job.
- Perform βhands-onβ technical duties, analysis, and decision-making related to the area of the facility where the Grower is assigned.
- Manage raw materials and other materials and supplies to ensure production at the lowest cost possible.
- Provide leadership in safety awareness and training of all personnel.
- Provide input to Growing Manager concerning area needs and information relating to crops.
- Oversee the interviewing, hiring, and training of new employees, and promotion or transfer of current employees.
- Perform evaluations and corrective actions; coordinate with HR for serious performance issues and terminations.
- Enforce and comply with all GMP/HACCP and Safety rules and regulations. Attend and/or conduct Safety meetings as required.
- Communicate with other departments to coordinate repairs, schedule changes, and other problem-solving situations.
- Perform accurate recordkeeping as required by the area in which the Grower is assigned, relating to crop parameters, inventory, and raw material usage and deliveries.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists Growing Manager in administering the Growing Department, filling in for Growing Manager during absences
- Work with the facility Safety Coordinator/Supervisor in those areas that are common to both workplace safety and food safety.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Direct Reports: Grower 1, Grower 2, Grower 3, and Growing Forepersons.
In addition to managing current direct reports; this position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management within that department.
- Responsible for interviewing, selecting, and training direct reports.
- Is responsible for reviewing performance and administering corrective action.
- Plans the work schedules, assigns duties, tracks absenteeism and reviews work to ensure quality standards.
- Responsible for monitoring work for legal or regulatory compliance.
- Observes and practice safety and housekeeping procedures at all times.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
- Good written and verbal communication skills; good practical math skills required
- Must have mechanical aptitude in working with equipment, planning and problem-solving
- Must remain current on changes in the growing process
- Works with the Growing Manager in overseeing all areas of the Growing Department
EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- BS Degree from a 4-year college or university in the Agricultural field is highly desirable
- Two years of experience in each of the three areas of the Growing Department
- Strong computer skills especially pertaining to Excel and PowerPoint
Desired:
- Preferably 2 years experience in the food industry.
- Preferably 1-2 years experience in supervision.
- Bilingual in both written and spoken (English/Spanish) is preferred.
- Additional professional certifications are preferred e.g. Six Sigma.

POSITION SUMMARY: The role of this position is to participate in active training in all aspects of mushroom production. Circumstances may dictate the speed at which the trainee is moved through the three major growth areas.

- Learn management of raw materials and supply inputs to maximize the ratio of yield and quality to investment cost.
