Position Summary
The Kitchen Associate prepares edible cannabis batches for formation into finished products including chocolate bars, drops, and other consumable items. This person is responsible for ensuring quality and uniformity and for maintaining a safe and sanitary work area.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Prepares edible cannabis batches for formation into finished products including chocolate bars, drops, and other consumable items, ensuring all recipes are followed in accordance with standard operating procedures and brand standards
- Performs quality control to ensure uniformity and that products are properly tempered or coated to eliminate issues such as improper texture or incorrect moisture content
- Performs weighing and measuring to ensure proper dosage of products
- Ensures all machinery is kept clean and in working order; escalates issues to department management as needed
- Sorts and catalogues waste in accordance with standard operating procedures
- Maintains an organized and sanitary work area, following all mandatory food safety standards, including wearing appropriate PPE
- Maintains a safe work environment by following all mandatory safety procedures and identifying and reporting hazards
- Operates and maintains machinery, maintaining control and alertness at all times to avoid safety issues or production bottlenecks
- Maintains speed and efficiency and actively contributes to continuous process improvements
- Assists with packaging functions as needed
Qualifications & Skills
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1 – 3 years of experience working in food service or food handling required
- 1 – 3 years of experience in a production environment required
- Pastry or chocolate experience preferred
- Team leadership experience a plus
- Must have professional communication at all times

PURPOSE
The Kitchen Associate will weigh, label, and package edibles and concentrates produced at the facility. The Kitchen Associate will also ensure quality control by strictly following company SOPs. QUALIFICATIONS

MARIJUANA GUMMY PRODUCTION TEAM:
The position consists of manufacturing marijuana edibles. Working in a kitchen is a very detail-oriented and repetitive job. It requires passion for the industry, a positive attitude, and the ability to follow direction very closely. You must be able to handle critique, have strong hand-eye coordination, and be able to improve your quality and speed as you learn. Attendance, flexibility, and cleanliness are also extremely important within this role.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- The Edibles Production Technician will perform critical tasks to ensure that the company's regulated cannabis infused products are produced in a timely, high quality, and compliant manner.
- The person in this role needs to have strong attention to detail, follow direction well, maintain consistency across large volumes of products, and be an adaptable team player
- Operate, clean, and maintain all equipment and kitchen area
- Complete production orders with consistency and quality while maintaining reasonable speed

- Strict adherence to department SOPs and recipes
- Maintain proper PPE and hygiene

Supervisory Responsibilities
- Manage a team of cooks, production assistants, and machine operators and help cultivate a productive and positive work environment.
- Review production employee timesheets and ensure all time is accounted for and being attributed accurately to production batches.
- Conduct employee performance reviews and ensure accountability across production staff.
- Set standards for performance and communicate these standards to production staff.
- Monitor production output and assist with recruitment and staffing as operations scale.

- Monitoring of ERP and METRC to ensure accuracy with regard to Work in Progress batches and high-value cannabis inputs like terpenes, and cannabis oil.
- Ensure daily counts of Work in Progress batches, terpenes, and cannabis oil to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Ensure excellent QA/QC of products during each stage of the production process.
- Work with the Purchasing and Systems department to ensure sufficient raw material and packaging inventory - assist with raw material forecasting/material resource planning.
- Create and improve the current process and SOPs
- Work with the HR department to identify and ensure all hiring needs are met. Create and update job descriptions for all positions
- Set team up for success, constantly survey team regarding equipment or supplies-related needs; make purchase requests through purchase request systems.
Required Skills/Abilities

- 3+ years experience managing a CPG manufacturing facility, preferably in food manufacturing or equivalent experience

Position Summary:
Reporting to the General Manager and coordinating with the VP of R&D and Quality Control, the Edibles Production Manager is responsible for managing the production of cannabis-infused edible and topical products at our Adrian, MI cultivation and processing facility. The Manager is accountable for consistent implementation of approved Standard Operating Procedures, while seeking out opportunities for improvement in compliance standards and overall efficiencies in the kitchen. Primary responsibilities include ensuring that the production is on schedule, products consistently meet state and internal quality requirements, and that target inventory levels are maintained at all times. The Kitchen Manager is responsible for overseeing the kitchen support staff and ensuring the quality of their work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure safe, accurate, and appropriate manufacturing, processing, packaging, and storage of edible and topical products using GMP principles
- Ensure compliance with SOPs and quality standards developed by the VP of R&D and Quality Control
- Ensure compliance at all times and record all relevant information accurately in the company’s METRC system
- Oversee kitchen production supplies and inventory, keeping inventory shrinkage to zero
- Maintain production logs, lab test results, and QC retain samples
- Implement proper procedures to maintain kitchen equipment operation and sanitation
- Prepare product samples as needed for third party lab testing in strict accordance with state testing protocols
- Train, oversee, and maximize productivity of all kitchen staff
