Position Summary/Objective
The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for assisting in managing a team of dispensary employees. Under the direction of the Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager will oversee the operation of the Curaleaf Dispensary. Assumes full management responsibility in the absence of the Store Manager. This person will work to improve dispensary sales, profitability, and image through extraordinary customer service, protection of store assets, supervising team members in the absence of the store manager.
Customer Experience
- Monitors and analyzes the customer service provided by team members. Offers feedback and coaching.

Assistant Store Manager
Under the direction of the Store Manager the Assistant Manager will oversee the operation of the Curaleaf Dispensary. Assumes full management responsibility in the absence of the Dispensary Manager. This person will work to improve dispensary sales, profitability, and image through extraordinary customer service, protection of store assets, supervising team members in the absence of the store manager.
Customer Experience
- Monitors and analyzes the customer service provided by team members. Offers feedback and coaching.
- Greets patients and offers assistance with products and services.
- Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits and Curaleaf service traits.
- Resolves customer complaints and helps respond to customers' special needs.
Operations
- Supervises operation of the store and team members, opening/closing/changing shifts, task delegation and scheduling team members
- Supervises the control of the store money including register counts, withdraws from the bank, armored car pickups, safe deposits, change orders and oversees all aspects of bookkeeping including ledger, invoices, cash reports and time records.
- Learns to analyze inventory trends and supervises inventory management, including ordering items, keeping stock, and leveraging company resources to avoid outs and overstock.
- Supervises receiving, stocking, pricing, returning, and transferring of merchandise. • Ensures that store/grounds are clean and presentable; manages repair and maintenance; responds to emergencies.
- Supervises operations of assigned location including strict compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintains knowledge of all computer and technology systems and software (e.g. registers, Biotrack, etc.). Ensures response to all systems problems by contacting information technology support and seeking solutions.
- Complies with all company policies and procedures; maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.
- Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned, including assisting team members as needed.

Basic Qualifications

Job Overview
The Assistant Dispensary Manager is responsible for managing a team of dispensary employees for the company’s cannabis dispensary located in Saco, Maine. This position will involve supporting leadership with all aspects of dispensary operations, including coaching and developing the retail store team.
We are seeking a passionate, driven, detailed-oriented, and collaborative manager to assist with leadership, direction, and support of the daily operations of the dispensary, including handling the needs of all patients and developing a team of budtenders who are enthusiastic about delivering a best-in-class cannabis retail experience that is compliant with state and local rules and regulations. The ideal candidate has the ability to adapt to our business model and has demonstrated leadership experience, as he or she will be given significant responsibility within our Saco dispensary. Previous cannabis retail experience is necessary.
Responsibilities
- Skills in retail business financials (e.g. payroll, profit, and loss) and driving sales growth.
- Experience creating store-specific strategies and managing your team to deliver results.
- Knowledge of retail business fundamentals for total store: sales trends, inventory management, guest shopping patterns & satisfaction, pricing and promotions strategies, and specialty businesses
- Skills in setting and planning total store quarterly business priorities and managing a team to deliver on sales goals. Communicate and coach staff regularly to ensure the dispensary's excellence in service, labor practices, and sales best practices.
- Understand all weekly and monthly sales information.
- Manage employee schedules and employee work hours and vacation requests.
- Manage Leaf Logix inventory system and Weedmaps integration.
- Work closely with the production lead to obtain an adequate supply of Blossom products.
- Train all new employees as well as the re-training of existing employees when needed.
- Motivate and work together with leadership and employees to meet and exceed sales goals.
- Assist with performance reviews of dispensary employees on a regular basis.
- Inform employees of new updates and general developments in the company and new products.
- Help ensure that inventory is adequate and help properly manage inventory by becoming well versed in the use of the Maine seed-to-sale inventory tracking system and POS.
- Promote a work environment that is positive, customer-service oriented, and compliant with established company policies and procedures.
- Support leadership by monitoring the activities of the store employees to maximize efficiency and minimize errors.
- Strive to become familiar and proficient at all other tasks and duties of the Assistant Dispensary Manager.
- Accommodates scheduling expectations by supervising retail dispensary store a minimum of 40 hours per week, including weekend, evening, and holiday shifts.
- Report directly to the Director of Operations and COO at Blossom Cannabis.
- Handle customer complaints with professionalism and solid conflict resolution tactics.
- Ensure the safety and satisfaction of every customer and employee.
Inventory
- Inventory Forecasting: Work closely with leadership and production to resolve any deficiencies in inventory.
- Prepared for the weekly inventory meetings, knowing exactly what products you need and working with production to have them completed and delivered to the storefront promptly.
- Accurately tracking what you have in store daily.
- Inputting inventory into Leaf Logix immediately upon delivery to the store.
- Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly inventory counts of medical cannabis, ancillary products, and dispensing supplies.
Compliance
- Ensure that all employees are appropriately licensed with OMP
- Ensure that all state MMJ laws are being followed
Finance
- Daily Financial Review: End-of-day cash reconciliation, change orders, etc
- Vendor payments - pay with check and post on Flock marked “paid”.
- Purchase incidental store items as needed on company Amex. Post receipt to Flock. under “receipts”. A spending limit of $100, above $100 requires management approval.
Marketing
- Analyze sales data and make recommendations on specials and marketing campaigns and loyalty offers.
HR
- Manage weekly schedule
- Meet labor targets established by management
Work Hours
- Minimum 40 hours on-site at the retail location. Available by phone on days off for emergency requests
- Cover storefront in the event of labor issues (no calls/no shows)
Qualifications
Education: Minimum of a high school or bachelor's degree required.
Work Experience:
- Our staff, at every level, must be passionate about the plant and about our mission of improving people's everyday lives through cannabis medicine.
- Previous experience in a cannabis retail environment is preferred.
- A thorough understanding of state and local medical Cannabis laws and regulations, and how they apply to the operations of the Company is preferred.

- Experience in inventory management and reconciliation.
- Work history demonstrating stability, progressive responsibility, and willingness to accept new duties.

Under the direction of the Dispensary Manager, the Dispensary Assistant Manager will oversee the operation of the Curaleaf Dispensary. Assumes full management responsibility in the absence of the Dispensary Manager. This person will work to improve dispensary sales, profitability, and image through extraordinary customer service, protection of store assets, supervising team members in the absence of the store manager.
Customer Experience
- Monitors and analyzes the customer service provided by team members. Offers feedback and coaching.
- Greets patients and offers assistance with products and services.

Assistant Store Manager
Under the direction of the Assistant Manager will oversee the operation of the Curaleaf Dispensary. Assumes full management responsibility in the absence of the Dispensary Manager. This person will work to improve dispensary sales, profitability, and image through extraordinary customer service, protection of store assets, supervising team members in the absence of the store manager.
Customer Experience
- Monitors and analyzes the customer service provided by team members. Offers feedback and coaching.
- Greets patients and offers assistance with products and services.

Essential Functions:
- You will assist the Store Manager with action items, sales targets for each day, focused sales strategies, management, and coaching.

- You will assist the Store Manager in supporting the needs of Customer Care Consultants, which includes but is not limited to scheduling, training, providing policy and procedure updates and education on new product information.

Who You Are:
You are responsible for all aspects of retail store operations, and for the development of your team members and communities. You are accountable for ensuring that all areas of the store are operating at maximum capacity, with time allocated at a maximum of 20% in back of the house and 80% on the floor selling, providing educational coaching, and setting the scene to deliver unmatched guest experiences. A Glimpse into Your Day –
Essential Functions:
- You will assist the Store Manager with action items, sales targets for each day, focused sales strategies, management, and coaching.
- You will uphold all policies, procedures, and security protocols by adhering to the Operations Policy Guide, Employee Manual, and all other published materials and as the Store Manager presents them.
- You will assist the Store Manager in supporting the needs of Customer Care Consultants, which includes but is not limited to scheduling, training, providing policy and procedure updates and education on new product information.
- You will drive an increase of week over week sales by 3% in addition to average basket increases.
- You will drive sales and push community outreach activities, then verify that weekly outreach initiatives have been met by Customer Care Consultants.
- You will maintain an active presence on the retail floor and demonstrate an expert sales skillset complete with upselling and closing, accompanied by strong product knowledge.
- You will verify that store inventories are completed thoroughly and accurately, then participate in cycle counts.
- You will verify that vaults and deposits are accurate with variances investigated and corrective actions taken.
- You will effectively manage price adjustments with a team focus on selling and product transfers.
- You will utilize product level metrics, which then translates to measurable results, supported with data.
- You will process transactions through the POS (point-of-sale) system and other technology driven platforms utilized by the retail outlet.
- You will assist in ensuring the overall safety and security of customers, team, cash, and inventory.
- You will provide coverage and perform duties and functions whenever the Store Manager is scheduled off or during break times.
- You will support the Store Manager in ensuring marketing changes are executed when needed, including but not limited to in-store or exterior store signage, menus, and promotional materials.
- You will be solution driven to manage all incidents pertaining to impact on the business, asset, or brand protection, then relay information to the Store Manager.
Team Operations:
- You will lead the team by providing ongoing sales and/or product training and coaching to enhance the workplace environment.
- You will assist in scheduling of team members including addressing staff requests.
- You will engage alongside the team in performing all tasks to showcase leading by example.
- You will monitor the sales floor for a variety of factors including but not limited to flow, staffing needs, quality of service, inventory changes and atmosphere.
- You will fulfill job duties of any associate, as needed, to compensate for staffing shortages, meal or break times, higher than normal sales volume, or to support general operations.
- You will assist with identifying talent, interviewing candidates and onboarding employees.
- You will deliver reviews and feedback to team members; provides action plans when needed.
Job Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Must pass background check (No felony convictions within the last 10 years per state law) and reference checks.
- High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have flexibility with work schedule.

Maggie's Farm Assistant Store Manager works with the Store Manager to ensure store operations run smoothly, properly and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations. This role will assist in meeting the needs of customers/patients and developing a professional team that is passionate about cannabis and the benefits of the product.
This position typically works standard store hours and may be required to work over 40 hours a week as needed to fulfill staffing requirements.

- Experience with increasing sales and profitability by ensuring efficient operations, cost-saving measures and increasing productivity

Under the direction of the Dispensary Manager, the Assistant manager oversees the operation of the dispensary. The Assistant Manager assumes full management responsibility in the absence of the Dispensary Manager. The Assistant Manager is tasked with improving dispensary sales, profitability, and image through extraordinary customer service, protection of store assets, and supervision of team members in the absence of the store manager.
Job Responsibilities
- Customer Experience
- Monitors and analyzes the customer service provided by team members. Offers feedback and coaching
- Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and pleasant customer experience, including interpersonal habits and service traits
- Resolves customer complaints and helps respond to customers' special needs
Operations
- Supervises operation of the store and team members, opening/closing/changing shifts, task delegation, and scheduling team members
- Supervises the control of store money including register counts, cash drops, invoices, cash reports, and time records
