The Field Marketing Manager will be responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with practitioners, 3rdparty accounts, and local organizations. The role has a strong educational component, and the candidate must be able to articulate brand, product and cannabis knowledge to various audiences. Field Marketing Manager- Mississippi and LA
The Marketing Manager will support the greater retail and wholesale sales team in marketing all brands and new products, for all Good Day Farm and partner dispensaries. The Role
The Field Marketing Manager will serve as a liaison between our brand and retail teams responsible for amplifying and activating brand and retail strategies at the street, retail and culture level. POSITION SUMMARY
The role of the Field Marketing Manager will be to grow brand awareness through fostering positive-growth relationships with the accounts and partner distributors, managing our local market activations, and be a key part of Clade9’s field marketing and sales team. A resilient, flexible, and entrepreneurial mentality is the key to success in this role
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Be the in-market point person for both sales and marketing, working to help close accounts, grow sales and execute PAD’s.
- Conduct field visits to assess and address opportunities to drive revenue growth by improving brand presence, pricing, and inventory, and build relationships
- Provide brand and product education to the budtenders, consumers, and partner retail employees
- Sell and execute brand programming at dispensaries, as determined by HQ
- Monitor competition by gathering market intelligence on pricing, products, and trends.
- Work closely with the Sales team to communicate market dynamics and collaborate on local strategies and tactics.
- Manage part-time brand ambassadors in Market executing vendor days and events, as well as execute vendor days yourself
- Ensure that social media is aligned with field marketing activities.
- Manage vendor day activities: creating flyers, working with creative consultants, scheduling, assigning BA’s to events, monitoring reports, offering constructive feedback to BA’s regarding reports, and communicating weekly updates to leadership
- Provide constructive feedback to Clade9 team on ways to improve local vendor days to maximize impact and effectiveness
- Track and manage the marketing assets and swag at the local warehouse, ensuring all BAs have necessary resources to execute successful vendor days
- Daily check-ins with Clade9 HQ and our partner distributor to ensure communication is streamlined
- 10-20% travel to outlier markets

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Passion for cannabis education with knowledge of terpenes and chemotypes.
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing/Advertising or related communications/business degree preferred
- 3+ years of relevant experience in field marketing, retail marketing or other related areas
- Past experience delivering , accelerating, and expanding sales pipeline through regional marketing
- Familiar with rules & regulations in the cannabis market
- You will have a valid driver’s license in the state you work.

The Role
The Field Marketing Manager will serve as a liaison between the brand and retail teams responsible for amplifying and activating brand and retail strategies at the street, retail and culture level. This role will be responsible for bringing brands to life and supporting retail initiatives on a local and community level.
You will be responsible for managing the achievements of results directly related to program objectives, goals and metrics. Primary areas of focus are managing consumer engagement activities with dispensary education channels, event production/execution, building relationships with culture and community groups and the coaching of various teams.
The Field Marketing Manager will aim to maximize long-term client relationships with Rise and competitive accounts, become a trusted adviser to retailers and strengthen brand loyalty within the designated region. This role directly supports the sales team through the promotion of brands at both internal and external accounts while also supporting the brand teams at consumer facing events.
Responsibilities - Overall
- Conduct strategic planning of consumer and trade activity to optimize reach for the assigned brands. Research and analyze opportunities in designated territory area(s). Identify best opportunities and use discretionary authority and analysis to propose and schedule activity —provide all rationale and strategy to ensure effective communication.
- Manage and guide Brand Ambassadors to develop opportunities and working relationships with assigned accounts for activations, events and consumer and trade engagement activity on the retail and community levels.
- Collaborate with local sales team and retail partners to drive sales, in-market account planning and activation, and commercial target delivery.
- Build and Manage Retail Education programs regarding RISE, Green Thumb products and overall industry.
- Work closely with Brand Ambassadors to achieve program objectives related to focus, performance and reach.
- Achieve all program goals and metrics as outlined. Leverage available channels to drive market goals.
- Identify areas of opportunity, provide constructive feedback and make recommendations for improvement and growth.
- Ability to interact with a diverse consumer audience, clients and agency personnel.
- Complete regular market visits within the assigned territory. Must be available nights, weekends and during regular business hours for in-market administrative tasks, meetings, field audits, consumer engagement activity, events and training.
- Requires active participation in weekly sales meetings via recaps of work already completed and presentation of future plans/programming.
- Flexibility and willingness to be available during non-traditional hours is required.
Responsibilities – Account Management/Trade Engagement
- Support sales team with account trainings and trade events.
- Completing account surveys via online menus and in person store visits.
- Act as the local point person for all social media activity within the given market.
- Manage POS inventory and maintenance, ensure product is on-site, attend events and audit accounts.
- Provide on-site management, oversight and support of employees during all types of consumer engagement activity including audits, training, and coaching.
- Conduct consumer engagement activities as required and scheduled by headquarters.
- Manage the activation of scheduled festivals, tours, and other off-site events; assist with the setup and breakdown of event materials and production elements, including tents.
Responsibilities – Development/Coaching
- Educate trade, brand, and distributor/broker partners on benefits of all Green Thumb brands.
- Understand state laws and activate national brand programming accordingly.
- Lead recruiting efforts, including interviewing, and hiring for all local field activation employees.
- Manage, train, coach, supervise, and provide ongoing training to a team of seasonal/part-time employees.
- Ensure program and employee compliance with all agency, Green Thumb-based state guidelines
- Manage higher management and submit required documentation as requested in a timely manner.
- Make recommendations for next steps associated with the employee development and/or discipline.
Responsibilities – Reporting
- Produce and analyze weekly and monthly reports to effectively schedule upcoming consumer engagement activity, activations, and events.
- Ensure all territory deliverables/assignments are completed on time and accurately from state managers. Review all paperwork including POS inventory, payroll, time tracking and other assignments prior to submittal. Effective time management and attention to detail is required.
- Capture and record information for daily, weekly, and monthly paperwork, calls and meetings including asset reconciliation, consumer insights, data capturing, photos of event activities, receipts, payroll, inventories and other required paperwork.
- Ensure all business-related expenses are reported on time and accurately, including submittal of invoices and receipts, monthly expense reports and purchase order requests.
- Possess basic mathematics skills to manage budgets and balance assigned assets and inventories.
Qualifications
- College degree preferred or equivalent in relevant work experience.
- 2+ years' experience in a related field marketing role.
- A thorough understanding of consumer and trade marketing brand strategies.
- Knowledge of local on- and off-premise cannabis market, including local laws and statutes.
- Negotiation skills and cold-calling experience, specifically as it relates to events and venue access.
- Strong budget management skills with previous budget management and oversight experience.
- Ability to gain and maintain an in-depth understanding of target consumer and market trends
- Strong public speaking skills.
- Compliance with all standard safety requirements and guidelines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.).
- Strong communication skills – written and verbal.
- Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense, and resourcefulness.

- Manage the activation of scheduled festivals, tours, and other off-site events; assist with the setup and breakdown of
event materials and production elements, including tents.
- Development/Coaching
- Educate trade, brand, and distributor/broker partners on benefits of all Green Thumb brands.
- Understand state laws and activate national brand programming accordingly.
- Lead recruiting efforts, including interviewing and hiring for all local field activation employees.
- Manage, train, coach, supervise, and provide ongoing training to a team of seasonal/part-time employees.
- Ensure program and employee compliance with all agency, Green Thumb-based state guidelines.
- Manage higher management and submit required documentation as requested in a timely manner.
- Make recommendations for next steps associated with the employee development and/or discipline.
- Reporting
- Produce and analyze weekly and monthly reports to effectively schedule upcoming consumer engagement activity,
activations and events. - Ensure all territory deliverables/assignments are completed on time and accurately from state managers. Review all
paperwork including POS inventory, payroll, time tracking and other assignments prior to submittal. Effective time
management and attention to detail is required. - Capture and record information for daily, weekly and monthly paperwork, calls and meetings including asset
reconciliation, consumer insights, data capturing, photos of event activities, receipts, payroll, inventories and other
required paperwork. - Ensure all business-related expenses are reported on time and accurately, including submittal of invoices and receipts,
monthly expense reports and purchase order requests. - Possess basic mathematics skills to manage budgets and balance assigned assets and inventories.
- Produce and analyze weekly and monthly reports to effectively schedule upcoming consumer engagement activity,
- College degree preferred or equivalent in relevant work experience.
- 2+ years' experience in a related field marketing role.
- A thorough understanding of consumer and trade marketing brand strategies.
- Knowledge of local on- and off-premise cannabis market, including local laws and statutes.
- Negotiation skills and cold-calling experience, specifically as it relates to events and venue access.
- Strong budget management skills with previous budget management and oversight experience.
- Ability to gain and maintain an in-depth understanding of target consumer and market trends.
- Strong public speaking skills.
- Compliance with all standard safety requirements and guidelines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.).
- Strong communication skills – written and verbal.

The Field Marketing Manager will be responsible for implementing the dispensary relations program, managing the BA's, and supporting Trade Marketing and Sales Teams to increase brand awareness and sales across WS and DTC channels.
What You'll Do

- Work directly with the Trade Marketing Manager to execute and manage field marketing programs that will drive awareness, consumer engagement, support innovation/product trial, and sales
- Train and manage the Monogram and TPCo Portfolio Brand Ambassador teams, with the potential to add on teams and additional markets
- Manage Dispensary Relations Program execution: brand ambassadors, merchandising, staff training, consumer demos, SWAG, sales promotions
- Coordinate marketing programs across multiple departments for multiple brands
- Leverage/identify account and consumer insights to develop and optimize support programs and tools
- Oversee timelines and manage project budgets to ensure the timely production of needed assets
- Work cross-functionally with other teams to accomplish goals: compliance, design, accounting, sales, etc.
- Support the execution of new product launches with sales and marketing assets
- Maintain and oversee the production and distribution of merchandise and other promotional materials across multiple brands to support both B2B sales and B2C education and brand building
- Meet regularly with sales team for feedback and to identify new marketing opportunities to increase monthly revenue and brand positioning
- Achieve personal KPIs and manage BA's KPI measurement and reporting
- Manage an assigned budget
- Work with external vendors for: installations, food trucks, merchandising, printing, etc.
- Communicate new directives, product launches from Sales to the BA's and accounts
- Oversee accurate reporting in the CRM, Promomash, and Tallie expense tracking

What You Have
- Cannabis experience and knowledge of cannabis related vocabulary and products strongly preferred but not required.
- Minimum 2 years in leadership role with people management experience.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office, comfortability with various software and databases.
