Quality Control Technician
The Quality Control Technician will be responsible for supporting the Operational and Quality Assurance groups to enforce processing and manufacturing procedures, technology, and business practices documented in State-level SOPs, policies, forms, and batch records. This role will support ongoing operations within the State, working closely with the QA Director to continuously improve operations. The QC Technician will also be responsible for supporting training employees using the electronic Quality Management System (eQMS), periodic verification of batch records, and confirm product quality requirements are met. This role will closely communicate with other Curaleaf teams including, but not limited to: Quality Assurance, Commercialization, and Cultivation.
Responsibilities:
- Verify incoming 3rd party compliance testing Certificate of Analysis (COAs) prior to Operations releasing product for downstream manufacturing and/or sale. Load documents in applicable system.
- Perform or assist in all quality inspections
- Audit against cGMP criteria and confirm established product quality requirements are achieved.
- Assist with edits and review of state-specific and applicable national SOPs, policies, and supporting documents.
- Promptly communicate identified discrepancies to QA leadership and Operational team leads, and document accordingly.
- Investigate and participate in quality event investigations and reporting including CAPA, OOS reports, product quality complaints, and adverse event investigations.
- Assist Operational leads with training team members on processes and procedures using approved documents.
- Maintain document management including SOPs, work instructions, and visual aids in the eQMS and within the facility.
- Support QA leadership in implementing and maintaining a quality management system including the eQMS
- Perform periodic review of procedures, forms, logs and master batch records (MBRs).

- Assist with change control for proposed changes to process or product

The Quality Technician will work cross-functionally to plan, organize, and recommend strategies to ensure products are developed successfully and in accordance with all specifications, SOP's, and GMP's. This includes a complete understanding of the operation and maintenance for all equipment and HMI controls critical to Gummy manufacturing. Responsible for ensuring finished Gummies meet formulation specifications, food safety guidelines, and established quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections and audits to monitor and ensure traceability of product movement throughout the facility and to confirm established product quality requirements are achieved across all stages of production.
- Promptly communicate identified discrepancies to site and regional leaders and document accordingly.
- Advise operators of problems and follow up to ensure resolution; troubleshoot equipment issues and resolve efficiently to minimize production downtime.
- Investigate and participate in correction activities as directed.
- Assist (or responsible?) with calibration, preventative, and routine maintenance of equipment.
- Continuously monitor processes to ensure sampling is appropriate to the product; color, flavor, weight, size, and appearance of the finished product meets specifications.
- Oversee QC for changeovers from one product or batch to another; ensure equipment and product continues to meet all specifications.
- Works with and trains new employees in all facets of Gummy manufacturing operation.
- Ensure work areas are maintained, organized, and in compliance with sanitary requirements.
- Accurately complete documentation and enter data to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements; responsible for maintaining traceability in seed-to-sale and information management systems.

We are searching for a unique individual to join our dynamic team. Successful Candidates will work as a member of the Quality team and be responsible for performing essential duties coordinating external testing as well as facilitating internal testing of Panacea formulations and products. The Quality Control Technician must have hands-on analytical laboratory experience and the ability to coordinate third party testing. It will be greatly helpful if the applicant has prior experience working in a GMP environment, specifically 21 CFR parts 111 and 117.
Essential Functions. The Quality Control Technician is responsible for all functions, including but not limited to:
- Correct operation and routine maintenance, as required by standard operating procedures, of balances, pipettes, graduated syringes, chromatography systems (HPLC and GC), and additional instruments as required.
- Running routine calibration checks on all instrumentation.
- Preparing analytical standards
- Function as an integral member of the quality group providing complete analytical results allowing assessment of manufacturing ingredients, interim formulas, and final products.
- Have experience developing and validating methods for analytes of interest.
- Work with Extraction, Production, New Product Development and within the Quality Department to provide timely results based on established prioritization
- Coordinate third party testing for product assessment that includes annual review of third-party testing providers, submission of samples, analysis of results, and developing reports.
- Maintain a data base of testing results for each product that allow for further analysis and process improvement.
- Participate, as a member of the Quality group, on various teams such as the HACCP team, as needed.
- Reviews client, customer, and user feedback.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or related science (Preferred) or three (3) – five (5) years of relevant experience in food, nutraceutical, or pharmaceutical industries.
- Familiarity with quality methods used in manufacture of CBD (and related) products a plus.
- Scientific lab, manufacturing, and/or cannabis industry experience (Preferred)

Job Brief
Our -food-grade manufacturing facility needs a full-time Quality Control Technician to operate under the supervision of our Technical Services Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for order-related QC (the QC process for every batch made) to ensure they conform to all applicable laws and company standards and COA review/storage.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintain and update Hold Log
- Performing raw material testing such as but not limited to organoleptic, Identity (FTIR), & taste tests when needed
- Reviewed vendor and manufacturer's Certificate of analysis to ensure they met specification prior to in house & third-party testing
- Perform flower inspections for non-conformance
- Perform document review of activities such as cleaning records and line clearance forms
- Verify that raw materials and flower product test results meet specification
- Perform daily assignments following written procedures and SOP's
- Performs multiple random checks on various lines throughout shift

Position Summary/Objective
The Laboratory/Quality Control Technician is responsible for assisting in product processing and formulation and monitoring and maintaining the organization, cleanliness and efficiency of production areas as well as maintaining quality control measures. The Laboratory/QC Technician is a detail-oriented, operational team player who will support the Company’s Fairless Hills, PA facility.
The ideal candidate has the ability to adapt to our business model and has demonstrated subject matter experience. Previous cannabis production experience is not required. This position will be located at our Fairless Hills, PA production facility and will report to the Processing Manager.
Responsibilities
· Provide analysis of botanicals and botanical extracts
· Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
· Prepare samples through various wet chemistry methods, including
§ Preparation of microbiological media
§ Aseptic sample preparation including bacteria, yeast, and mold culturing and total plate counts of microbial growth
· Maintain strict inventory records of all submitted samples and consumables inventory
· Maintain laboratory notebook with thorough record keeping and data collection
· Ensure consistency and efficiency of product through quality control testing and procedures
· Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following SOPs and complying with legal regulations
· Keep equipment properly maintained and operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting, and/or calling for repairs
· Communicate clearly and concisely, including in written and spoken forms, effectively to all constituents on a timely basis

Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or related discipline; PHD is a plus

Quality Control Technicians are responsible for the efficiency and quality of cannabis by trimming, manicuring and preparing product for sale. We are currently seeking motivated, dependable people to fill entry level positions into the medical cannabis industry. Must have reliable transportation. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Hiring Immediately. No experience required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Responsible for trimming and manicuring cannabis in a timely, efficient manner to prepare product for sale.
-Working respectfully and collectively with other Quality Control team members
-Follow all safety regulations set by team leaders
-Ensure consistent quality
-Ensure an overall positive, safe and clean environment
Qualifications:
-Must be able to pass state and federal background checks
-Experience and knowledge in manufacturing / laborer industry preferred but not required
-Ability to work in a fast paced environment
-Ability to handle high stress situations
-Self Motivated
-Ability to multi-task
-Must be at least 21 years of age and authorized to work in the US.
-Must be willing to work 7 days a week if necessary, and to be flexible with schedule.
-Ability to work 4 10 hour shifts
-Exposure to fertilizer, dusts, odors, allergens, pollen, and other environmental variables.
Education:
-Minimum High School or G.E.D. equivalent required

Job Title: Quality Control Technician, Willamette Crushing Co.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Perform activities in a safe manner.
- Keep lab and workstation clean and tidy.
- Collect samples of aggregates, asphalt concrete and liquid asphalt from production equipment.
- Perform tests in lab on aggregates sampled: sample reduction, moisture content, gradation, bulk specific gravity, fracture, elongate particles.
- Perform tests in lab on samples of asphalt concrete: sample reduction, moisture content, oil content, gradation, maximum specific gravity, bulk specific gravity.
- Enter data into computer database and transmit results to production personnel.
- Perform field tests on plastic concrete.
- Perform field density tests on subgrade, base aggregate and asphalt concrete.
Job Requirements
- Entry level position. Training and necessary certifications provided, as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- State agency certification desired.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products desired.
- Work day or night shift.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Must be reliable, honest, and hardworking.
- Must have a valid driver s license and be insurable.
- Must be able to follow OSHA, MSHA, and Wildish policies for safety and conduct.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.
- Position is subject to random drug testing.
Physical/Mental Requirements
- Strength/Flexibility: Ability to climb, kneel, stoop, reach, bend, squat, frequent lifting as heavy as 70 lbs, stretching, sitting, and walking on uneven ground and stairs.
- Dexterity: Capable of performing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Respiratory Capacity: Capable of wearing a respiratory protection device while working in hazardous atmospheric conditions.
- Endurance: Capable of performing assigned duties for eight or more hours at a time in hot, cold, daylight, nighttime, wet and/or dusty environments, and in noisy or jarring conditions.
- Responsiveness: Capable of identifying through sight, sound, smell and/or touch, and reacting quickly to hazardous situations.
- Communication: Capable of verbally asking questions, responding to questions, relaying information, and alerting others to hazardous situations.
- Mental: Capable of understanding and following instructions, solving problems presented by unexpected equipment conditions, and recognizing and following common safety practices.
