TEMP to HIRE position 520 hours through staffing service.
Specific Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assist in all aspects of extraction, winterization, and distillation process.
2. Operate ethanol extractor, centrifuge, falling film evaporators, decarboxylation, and filtration equipment
3. Troubleshoot down equipment and perform equipment maintenance.
4. Maintain an organized and clean laboratory environment and workspace.
5. Follow Company standard operating procedures (SOPs) to produce high quality CBD ingredients.
6. Understand and follow all safety protocols.
7. Monitor system operations and perform tests as required.
8. Record data for all procedures using computer systems and/or hard copy
9. Maintain inventory records of supplies, materials, and equipment.
10. Store supplies and equipment, disposal of waste according to company and safety guidelines.
11. Keep laboratory, storerooms and working areas in a clean, safe work environment at all times.
12. Roll up all hoses not in use and operate all equipment in a safe manner.
13. Other duties
Education or Equivalent: (Minimum required to perform job)
1. Prior cGMP production experience preferred.
2. Previous experience in cannabis field preferred.
3. High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Knowledge/Skills Requirements:
1. Familiarity with basic scientific principles and production terminology.
2. Read and follow manuals for Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
3. Basic math skills.
4. Quick to learn processes
5. Understanding of basic manufacturing concepts
6. Familiarity with OSHA guidelines for dealing with hazardous chemicals.
7. Ability to operate forklift desired
8. Understanding and adhering to applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations

As a Quality Technician, you will work closely with the Quality Manager, R&D Department, and Production Department across multiple operational and laboratory functions to collect samples, test material, perform inspections, and inventory product and other items, along with other tasks.
II. Specific Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:
- Notify the appropriate supervisor or manager of all potential food safety issues.
- Place any potential food safety issues on HOLD in accordance with the non-conforming materials program.
- Ensure that our manufacturing, packaging, labeling, and warehousing operations ensure the quality of the products we produce and that the products are packaged and labeled as specified by the product specifications.
- Collect production samples from production floor and perform required inspections.
- Immediately notify the appropriate production personnel and management of all out of specification conditions pertaining to inspected samples.
- Maintain the required retain samples of products and materials.
- Maintain records of data collected according to all procedures, requirements, and regulations.
- Perform inspections of unprocessed materials.
- Work and communicate with interdepartmental and intradepartmental personnel and management as necessary in a professional manner.
- Assist with maintaining quality of products produced.
- Assist with collecting samples of and/or all defective unprocessed material for return to the supplier.
- Assist with completing and implementing Corrective Action Reports in response to customer complaints.
- Assist with making new documents and forms.
- Train new personnel on proper testing requirements and procedures.
- Monitoring laboratory supply inventories and reporting low quantities to the proper personnel for replenishing supplies.
- Provide general inspection support to all departments as needed.
- Perform new material performance analysis as necessary.
- Assist with developing new test methods.
- Assist with R&D as necessary.
- Assist with R&D product introduction into the operations facility and processes.
- Assist with Operations and operations process development and improvement as necessary.
- Inspect held production materials to assist with the disposition and review for corrective actions.
- Adhere to all plant and department rules, policies, and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Other responsibilities as defined in plant-wide programs and procedures.

- Previous experience with instrumental chemistry preferred.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.

- Quick to learn processes and follow instructions to carry out tasks
- Ability to work independently

- Familiarity with requirements for any certifications HempRise may acquire.

V. Physical Requirements and Safety Considerations of the Position:
Physical Requirements:
Individual may be required to stand and/or walk for long periods of time, including walking to multiple buildings across the HempRise campus. Specific vision requirements include reading of written documents and use of computer monitor screen frequently.
Work Schedule:
Shifts of 8 or 10 hours in duration, subject to change with advance notice given.
Essential Physical Job Tasks:
- Operate testing equipment while following safety parameters
- Data entry and use of computer user interface tools including mouse, keyboard and any other applicable instruments.
- Setting up workstation for minimal ergonomic risk factors as deemed necessary.
- Lifting and operating in a manufacturing environment.
- Lifting overhead and reaching with up to 30 lbs.
- May be required to lift to 45 lbs and /or push up to 50 lbs.
Safety Considerations:
- Must follow any applicable plant safety requirements.
- Must follow all food safety protocols, and identify, and report all potential food safety issues to the appropriate member(s) of management.
Environmental Conditions:
- Working conditions will be climate controlled.
