Grower needed for a greenhouse growing operation located near the Arvada/Golden areas. Individual will work directly with the Production Manager and seasonal staff to grow crops of annuals, vegetables, herbs, and perennials sold at retail at City Floral Garden Center in Denver. The facility includes 3 acres of finished plants including flats of packs and pots, #1 and #2s, hanging baskets and patio pots. City Floral is a 110+ year old company with a solid reputation and history in the Denver market. The growing operation is of great importance to the garden center’s position as the largest garden center in the City of Denver.
Job requirements include:
- ·Knowledge of greenhouse production on a commercial scale with a hands on approach
- Experience with annuals and vegetables required. Experience with blooming crops such as poinsettias, cyclamen, and mums preferred. Experience with perennial growing preferred.
- Proficiency in seed sowing, propagation and plug production practices as well as growing in a range of sizes including packs, 4” pots, #1s, patio pots and hanging baskets.
- Ability to set-up and supervise transplant and propagation lines and ensure that production occurs according to a forecast
- Understanding of irrigation practices and plant nutrition
- Experience with setting up and maintaining an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Strategy
- Knowledge of disease, insect and weed problems and a willingness to spray for these problems
- Knowledge of greenhouse climate control systems and ability to troubleshoot problems in water lines and heating and cooling systems
- Desire to research problems in pests, crops, or other issues that arise in the growing of plants
- Desire to be detail oriented, looking for small changes in crops
- Understanding of quality control for shipping purposes
- Ability to maintain an inventory of finished crops
- Ability to help with inventory, ordering supplies, and receiving product
- Ability and desire to develop staff and train a seasonal staff on basic growing practices every year. Experience with hiring preferred.

- Ability to forecast crops within a team environment and familiarity with ordering materials for production from standard brokers and greenhouse supply companies
- Ability to track production, crop timing, growing practices, ready dates and other metrics for crop management

This is a full time, year round position that will have the ability to grow its responsibility and manage all aspects of growing certain programs over time. Individual must be flexible and willing to work with a variety of people and perform efficiently in multiple demand cycles throughout the year. Grower will directly supervise employees on certain days or on certain tasks so prior management experience preferred.
Preferred Experience and Education include:
- Degree in horticulture / botany or 3+ years experience in the field

As an Assistant Grower, you will train to grow horticultural specialty products and crops such as plugs, bedding and ornamental plants under our Production Team. - Perform soil tests, collect data, and report to Grower or Production Manager.
- Maintain greenhouse environment – observe that all equipment (including fans, pads, vents, heat, etc.) are operating correctly
- Maintain equipment – check for proper operation of injectors, booms, and sprayers.
- Assist in light maintenance of greenhouse equipment as needed
- Cleaning, disinfecting, and weeding as directed
- Assist in other ranges or departments as needed
As an Assistant Grower, you will also assist in training irrigators and other general greenhouse staff as directed by the Production Manager. In addition to the above responsibilities, Assistant Growers will be required to assist with various projects around the greenhouse as needed. At times, it would be expected to assist with greenhouse labor as instructed by the Production Manager.
Basic Minimum Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age and eligible to work in the United States
- Candidates must have at least 1 year of experience in irrigation, watering/spraying crops, and/or working in a greenhouse or similar environment caring for live plants.
- Applicants must have a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent industry experience or training. Additional experience, specifically those with college degrees related to the horticulture industry, may be reflected in wage or compensation.
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Additionally, Assistant Grower will be asked to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Must be able to work in all Greenhouse conditions including wet, humid, dusty, dirty, and extreme hot/cold temperatures.

Position Description:

Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Support assigned clients and/or projects.

The Quality Department not only assures Panacea products meet potency and purity standards through Good Manufacturing Practice, but also works to assist in the development of innovative procedures and purposeful formulations. We are searching for a unique individual to join our dynamic team. Successful Candidates will work as a member of the Quality team and be responsible for performing essential duties coordinating external testing as well as facilitating internal testing of Panacea formulations and products. The Quality Control Technician must have hands-on analytical laboratory experience and the ability to coordinate third party testing. It will be greatly helpful if the applicant has prior experience working in a GMP environment, specifically 21 CFR parts 111 and 117.
Essential Functions. The Quality Control Technician is responsible for all functions, including but not limited to:
- Correct operation and routine maintenance, as required by standard operating procedures, of balances, pipettes, graduated syringes, chromatography systems (HPLC and GC), and additional instruments as required.
- Running routine calibration checks on all instrumentation.
- Preparing analytical standards
- Function as an integral member of the quality group providing complete analytical results allowing assessment of manufacturing ingredients, interim formulas, and final products.
- Have experience developing and validating methods for analytes of interest.
- Work with Extraction, Production, New Product Development and within the Quality Department to provide timely results based on established prioritization
- Coordinate third party testing for product assessment that includes annual review of third-party testing providers, submission of samples, analysis of results, and developing reports.
- Maintain a data base of testing results for each product that allow for further analysis and process improvement.
- Participate, as a member of the Quality group, on various teams such as the HACCP team, as needed.
- Reviews client, customer, and user feedback.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies.

Extensive sample preparation and strong chromatographic separation skills and experiences are essential.
Strong troubleshooting skills for HPLC and MS are highly desirable.

Responsibilities
- This is a ‘hunter’ role with responsibility for generating revenue from prospective new clients as well as growing existing accounts.
- Candidates must have demonstrated success in generating $500,000 per year in revenue.
- You must be comfortable with outbound (cold) calling.
- This is a performance-based compensation role with six-figure first-year potential income.
- We pay unlimited and residual commissions but this position does NOT offer a base salary.
- A recoverable draw may be available for qualified candidates.
Skills
- Consultative selling expertise (you have sold complex products or services).

Duties and Responsibilities:
Knowledge of aseptic technique
Ability to work on feet/ stand for long periods of time

Adherence to details for batch tracking and compliance
Responsible for maintaining accurate records
Basic math skills
Responsible for cleaning glass and trays
Working with chemicals
Working with hands for long periods of time
Responsible for taking accurate measurements of inputs and outputs
Responsible for tracking lot numbers of chemicals
Responsible for getting raw materials to correct departments
Responsible for calibrating instruments/equipment
Label all containers and perform data entry
Restock supplies
Identify non-conforming product, handle appropriately and implement corrective actions
Starting pay is between $15 and $19 per hour depending on shift working and experience, plus health benefits.

Grower needed for a greenhouse growing operation located on west side of Denver, Colorado near the Arvada/Golden areas. Individual will work directly with the Head Grower and seasonal staff to grow crops of annuals, vegetables, herbs, and perennials sold at City Floral Garden Center in Denver. The facility includes 3 acres of finished plants including flats of packs and pots, #1 and #2s, hanging baskets and patio pots. City Floral is a 109 year old company with a solid reputation and history in the Denver market. The growing operation is of great importance to the garden center’s position as the largest garden center in the City of Denver.
Job requirements include:
· Knowledge of greenhouse production on a commercial scale with a hands on approach
· Understanding of both seed sowing, propagation and plug production practices
· Ability to set-up and supervise transplant and propagation lines
· Understanding of irrigation practices and plant nutrition
· Knowledge of disease, insect and weed problems and a willingness to spray for these problems
· Knowledge of greenhouse climate control systems and ability to troubleshoot problems in water lines and heating and cooling systems
· Understanding of quality control for shipping purposes
· Ability to help with inventory, ordering supplies, and receiving product
· Willingness to learn in a fast paced, intensely seasonal environment
· Desire to be detail oriented, looking for small changes in crops
· Ability to work long hours and be on your feet all day, particularly in the spring season
· Ability to work in a physically demanding environment that required repeated lifting and pushing heavy carts
This is a full time, year round position that will have the ability to grow its responsibility and manage all aspects of growing certain programs over time. Individual must be flexible and willing to work with a variety of people and perform efficiently in multiple demand cycles throughout the year. Grower will directly supervise employees on certain days or on certain tasks so prior management experience preferred.
Preferred Experience and Education include:
· Degree in horticulture / botany or 3+ years experience in the field
· Have a current pesticide applicator’s license, or ability to obtain one
· Experience specifically with bedding plant and vegetable production preferred
· Ability to identify annual plant varieties by sight preferred
· Mechanical experience for basic repairs in the greenhouse preferred
· Previous management experience preferred
· Ability to drive a forklift preferred
· Familiarity with Excel and Word preferred
