Liquid Nicotine Wholesalers is looking for laboratory technician with a strong attention to detail and sense of urgency. The candidate will become proficient in the analysis of samples for nicotine concentration, residual solvents, etc. using the appropriate testing equipment. The candidate will be responsible for the creation of daily batch documentation, updating SOP’s, and maintaining records. Experience in pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, or cannabis laboratories is a plus. Candidate must be willing to work with nicotine.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Operate and maintain lab equipment, pH meters, GC, HPLC, spectrophotometer, etc.
- Perform tests on daily production batches.
- Calibrate equipment and maintain controls to ensure equipment is performing properly.
- Proficient in Good Lab Practices, keeping a clean and safe laboratory.
- Manage documents (specifications, procedures, methods, forms, etc.)
- Responsible for issuing accurate, error-free written documents.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate, current files on all related documents, literatures and materials. Documents may include highly confidential information which should be treated accordingly.
- Audit and prepare monthly reports on quality.
- First contact for regulatory bodies and auditors.
- Create and maintain SOP’s.
- Type and proofread assigned materials such as procedures, product data sheets specifications, SDS, etc.
OTHER RELATED DUTIES:
- Retrieves information from the computer system as requested.
- Respond quickly to requests for technical information and to problems as needed.
- Maintain the integrity and security of all company information and documents such as formulation files, SOP’s, sensitive material etc.
- Provide all administrative support such as correspondence and documentation control, such as typing, filing, copying etc.
- Carry responsibility in the storage of Master Formula Files, Client and Product Files, Specifications and Analysis reports, MSDS Sheets, etc.
- Prepare and maintain monthly internal reports in an approved format.
- May do research for a project or a specific matter.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Follow process guidelines and communicate quality concerns with management.
- Implement Process Improvement.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be of 21 years of age.
- Prior experience with operating and calibrating analytical instrumentation, specifically pH meters, GC, HPLC, and spectrophotometer.
- Experience creating and following standards of operations (SOPs)
- Experience with basic chemistry.
- AA Degree.
- Proficient with basic computer applications, including Excel, Microsoft Office, and Word.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy.
- Must possess ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diplomacy in all facts of the position.
- Dependable, punctual, and maintain a positive attitude.

Position Summary/Objective
The Laboratory/Quality Control Technician is responsible for assisting in product processing and formulation and monitoring and maintaining the organization, cleanliness and efficiency of production areas as well as maintaining quality control measures. The Laboratory/QC Technician is a detail-oriented, operational team player who will support the Company’s Fairless Hills, PA facility.
The ideal candidate has the ability to adapt to our business model and has demonstrated subject matter experience. Previous cannabis production experience is not required. This position will be located at our Fairless Hills, PA production facility and will report to the Processing Manager.
Responsibilities
· Provide analysis of botanicals and botanical extracts
· Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
· Prepare samples through various wet chemistry methods, including
§ Preparation of microbiological media
§ Aseptic sample preparation including bacteria, yeast, and mold culturing and total plate counts of microbial growth
· Maintain strict inventory records of all submitted samples and consumables inventory
· Maintain laboratory notebook with thorough record keeping and data collection
· Ensure consistency and efficiency of product through quality control testing and procedures
· Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following SOPs and complying with legal regulations
· Keep equipment properly maintained and operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting, and/or calling for repairs
· Communicate clearly and concisely, including in written and spoken forms, effectively to all constituents on a timely basis
· Perform other duties as requested
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or related discipline; PHD is a plus
· Must have a minimum of two years of experience in a chemistry and/or microbiology laboratory
· Combination of experience and education will be considered
· Experience in cannabis industry not required, but is a plus
· Experience with aseptic techniques including microbial culturing
· Experience in wet chemistry and/or microbiology laboratory
· Ability to classify microorganisms (mainly bacteria, fungi, and yeast) via morphology or other determinative tests
· Familiarity with chemical extractions, separations, and isolation
· Understanding of proper and safe handling of hazardous materials
· Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment, and perform well under pressure while maintaining a calm composure
· High degree of attention to detail with the ability to be self-directed
