JOB DESCRIPTION
The Lab Manager is responsible for the management of the Lehua Brands lab, which includes improving and executing extraction processes, planning inventory, scheduling and managing lab technicians, and coordinating with the management team to execute a comprehensive manufacturing plan.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Preparing equipment and plant materials for extraction.

We are a well-established and growing, multi-state cannabis company, looking to add a key member to our expanding Oregon operations. The proper candidate will have prior experience with large scale cannabis extractions and have a proven successful history of operations and personnel management. As an integral part of our team, the Extractions Lab Manager is responsible for all aspects of production.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee all processes in the manufacture of hydrocarbon extracts (live resin/cured extracts & distillation)
- Coordinate operations including, but not limited to; crew management, facility and equipment maintenance, inventory management of materials/chemicals/equipment/finished goods
- Assist in launching new products and maintaining efficient processes for successful projects.
- Ensure that production schedules are met within budgeting parameters
- Further develop and maintain extraction operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing operational policies and procedures
- Coordinate with other key stakeholders (sourcing, distribution, sales) to ensure a seamless production cycle and meet all internal company and customer quality standards throughout the product life.
- Creation and delivery of weekly reports on key performance metrics
- Maintain a 100% compliance standard in accordance with State & Local regulations
- Train personnel on product compliance, safety requirements, and proper execution of tasks per SOPs.
- Implement and maintain appropriate quality control processes and procedures to guarantee accuracy of analysis and quality of results.
- Other duties as required.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
· Possession of a valid OLCC Marijuana Handlers permit
· Understanding of applied fluid and pressure dynamics
· Experience working with/on industrial machinery(centrifuges, vacuum distillers, conveyors, etc)
· Must maintain current knowledge of and adhere to all policy and regulations of the Oregon Liquor Control Commission Recreational Marijuana Program; Oregon Health Authority, Oregon Department of Agriculture.
· 4+ years’ experience in Cannabis Extraction(Hydrocarbon Extraction & Distillation)
· 2+ years’ experience in Management
· Experience with lean manufacturing processes and best practices in safety

Job Description: The Manager assists in the production, fulfillment and legal sale of medical cannabis and CBD products to patients, consumers and medical providers from our production facility and retail location in Brunswick, Maine consistent with applicable state and local laws and regulations. All employees are expected to wear many hats and pitch in as needed, so you can expect to be hands on with packaging, fulfillment, logistics, sales, customer service etc. Experience with medical cannabis is preferred, but not required.
In this role, the candidate should expect to:
- Must have 2-3 years experience in any of the following regulated industries such as cannabis, pharmaceutical, supplement, nutraceutical and/or food production industries.
- Ability to create, implement, revise and improve SOPs to ensure compliance with the various safety and quality standards.
- Experience in bottling, labeling, packaging, fulfillment, logistics, inventory management, cost tracking with e-commerce or direct to consumer company.
- Have strong management skills and comfortable with supporting online direct to consumer and wholesale sales accounts from sales, orders, fulfillment and followup.
- Experience using online e-commerce platforms, shipping and customer support software. Experience working with shipping companies UPS, USPS, Fedex. Managing inventory and cost optimization of goods, packaging, fulfillment and employee labor
- Hands on ability to perform work and manage other employees

We are in search of a Cannabis Extraction Manager to manage, direct and organize our production area and maintain quality control measures to ensure high quality product at our process facilities in Prince George’s County, Maryland. We’re looking for someone who is passionate, self -motivated and detail oriented when it comes to ensuring efficiency, establishing protocols and procedures, and keeping morale high.
Key Factors
- Manage and coordinate extractor staff schedule
- Oversee extraction, production, planning and processing and scheduling
- Develop and implement SOP’s for all required production processes
- Preparation of equipment and plant materials for extraction
- Maintain extraction production logs
- Maintain strict quality control measures to ensure inventory records and high-quality product, materials and equipment
- Ensure consistency and efficiency of product through quality control testing and procedures
- Hire, train, and develop the kitchen production team
- Keep a clean and safe work environment, including maintaining, cleaning, and making adjustments and repairs to extraction equipment
- Carry out day to day tasks including, prepping, extracting, and packaging
- Establish detailed and well documented protocols, reports and records
- Monitor and maintain production facility in accordance with the safety and sanitation laws, procedures, rules and regulations
- Maintain material safety data sheets for all products
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelors Degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry or related field
- Extensive production management experience with various extraction processes, preferably a cannabis, pharmaceutical or nutraceutical products
- Experience in mass production of products
- Experience in data analysis and reporting on production metrics
- Ability to work in a fast-paced cross functional environment
- Must have accountability, proactive behavior and strong attention to detail.
- Some college preferred
