Responsibilities
- Support the Controller with the accounting operations of the Company, including control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures
- Maintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
- Abide by standard operating procedures for all accounting functions
- Prepare journal entries,
- Reconcile financial statements and accounts
- Ensure data accuracy
- Ensure that sales are adequately reported
- Perform data entry and general ledger coding
- Full Cycle Accounts Payable
- Invoices, expense reports and check requests
- Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
- Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable
- Assist in processing payroll
- Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
- Assist with maintaining the chart of accounts
- Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
- Support Controller to issue timely and complete financial statements
- Calculate variance from the budget and identify any issues
- Provide support for a system of management cost reports
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and reporting, as requested
- Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings for various state jurisdictions
- Assist in other accounting projects, as necessary
Qualifications Education
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration, or equivalent business experience and 5+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation
- Candidates with public accounting experience a plus
Work Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in accounting/finance
- Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas
- Experience with financial reporting requirements
- Experience with general ledger accounting, accruals, prepaid expenses, and reconciliations
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Work history that demonstrates stability, progressive responsibility, and willingness to accept new duties
- Payroll or Human Resources experience a plus

- Supervise the Staff Accountant
- Knowledge of computer and office equipment and programs; proficiency in computer usage including accounting software, MS Office applications (MS Office Word, Excel and Outlook)

- Approximately $75,000-80,000 annual salary

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for transactional accounting efforts for our health and wellness businesses. This person will support all accounting duties including month-end closing, cash reconciliation, production of monthly and quarterly financial statements, and various report generation.
Responsibilities include:
- Calculate and post monthly/annual accruals and maintain long-term debt schedule including calculation of accrued interest and current portion of long-term debt
- Manage all payroll transactions and reports (direct deposits, garnishments, loans, bonuses, PTO accrual, 941 reconciliation approaching overtime reports etc.) including all quarterly and year-end reporting
- Participate in timely and accurate reporting and account reconciliations for several companies and businesses
- Ability to identify trends and suggest resolutions for a complex highly regulated business

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Previous experience working as a Staff Accountant for a fast paced, multi-unit business

ROLE:
The Senior Staff Accountant will work under the direction of the Corporate Controller and the Regional Controller to carry out the fiscal accounting functions of the corporation in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate within the industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Maintenance of fixed assets and associated depreciation and schedules.
- Provide monthly detail for general journal entries.
- Ensure proper recording of new purchases and disposals.
- Record payroll and related accruals.
- Maintain balance sheet account reconciliations for prepaid and accrual accounts, including reconciliation various accounts to the associated subledgers.
- Reconcile sales tax and other payable accounts.
- Reconcile intercompany accounts including eliminating entries.
- Reconcile inventory accounts for multiple locations including reviewing adjustments, reconcile to the subledger and assist with observations of period and annual inventory audit and physical counts.
- Prepare month-end and period-end financials for review by the Regional Controller and Corporate Controller, including variance analysis.
- Prepare for and support annual and periodic audits performed by external auditors and Arizona Department of Health Services.
- Assist with annual budgeting process.
- Propose and implement continuous improvement processes.
- Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time-to-time.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 21 years of age and authorized to work in the US.
- Advanced level Excel skills.
- Proper employment documentation; reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
- If necessary, ability to work 7 days per week and to be flexible with schedule.
- Must be able to pass a thorough FBI background check as required to work in the regulated medical marijuana industry in the State of Arizona. All team members must also maintain fingerprint cards and be eligible to obtain Dispensary Agent cards.
- Environmental Requirements and Exposure, depending on work location.
- This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- Staff Account experience is mandatory.
- 3-5 years of related experience.
- NetSuite experience is a plus.

POSITION OVERVIEW*
The Senior accountant will perform and review balance sheet reconciliations and maintain strong internal controls. This position will assist in preparing the consolidated balance sheet and income statement of Harvest Inc. and Consolidations with the monthly close process.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES *
- Oversee core corporate accounting areas including cash, accounts receivable, prepaids, other assets, accrued liabilities, debt, intercompany and fixed asset accounting
- Prepare the monthly consolidated balance sheet and income statement of Harvest Inc. as well as analyzing the financial statements of Harvest Inc.'s subsidiaries
- Review and prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
- Review and approve capitalization of fixed assets are in accordance with IFRS / GAAP and policy
- Maintain the reconciliation software and update balances as needed
- Implement and follow accounting policies and procedures
- Assist in recording opening balance sheet for newly acquired entities
- Perform trend analysis and research of key accounts as needed
- Support the Financial Reporting Group with quarterly reporting requirements

QUALIFICATIONS *
