THE ROLE
The Regional Retail Director of Chicagoland effectively leads their team of Store Managers and ensures strong retail performance, with responsibilities in driving sales, customer satisfaction, and P&L management of the retail stores.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES
- Monitor the P&L reports for each store and develop effective ways to fill in any gaps between actual performance and company

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

- Experience or study emphasis in biology, medicine, horticulture, agriculture, business, management, or hospitality
- Minimum of five years combined dispensary, call center, retail, sales, hospitality, or customer service experience
- Excellent computer and technical skills, including experience with web browsers, retail POS systems, and credit card processing terminals.
- High-level critical thinking, attention to detail, mathematical, language, and reasoning skills
- Must be comfortable adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing fractions and decimals, and high-volume cash handling
- Bilingual skills a plus.

We are seeking a talented multi-unit retail leader to join us as a District Manager. A District Manager has the support, training and innovative thinking to successfully lead an average of 10 or more stores. The District Manager owns the district P&L and is accountable for the operational performance and management of store teams, including people development, sales and sales building programs, service, execution of company-wide programs and initiatives, margin and expense control and shrink and asset management.
The District Manager is highly engaged in store visits, providing an opportunity for a fun, motivated and energized store environment. There is a great level of autonomy in carving out how a store visit is conducted to engage with store teams and drive sales. Teaching store teams how to be successful, how to impact service and ultimately deliver for our customers is critical.
The Responsibilities
- Inspire teams through shared goals and dedication to creating a culture of positive recognition and business accountability.
- Responsible for selection, guidance, training, performance management and accountability of all exempt level associates in the district (Store Managers, Assistant Managers and Delivery team), including acclimating new field management staff to the company and or new position

- Manage a district of 10 or more high volume retail stores, with a total volume of over $40 million.
- Solve Operational, Human Resources and Merchandising issues in a timely manner.

The Qualifications
- Minimum 5-7 years of retail management experience
- Minimum 5-7 years in a multi-store capacity
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- A strong knowledge of retail Operations, Merchandising and Human resources.
- The proven ability to motivate and develop Associates at all levels.
- Must have excellent communication skills (written and oral), solid planning and organizational skills, a strong understanding of the financial aspects of the retail business.

- Partner with manufacturing teams & EVP of Retail to ensure adequate stock of medication in all dispensary locations within your market
- Provide feedback on product quality to the Manufacturing and Quality teams
- Creates and executes market strategy by utilizing knowledge of competitive landscape and business trends in district and capitalizing on potential opportunities and threats
- Resolves any dispensary-related issues and customer complaints
- Staff management: Supervise Dispensary Managers in area; oversee all delivery and Pharmacy functions. Align team to deliver on healthcare outcomes and initiatives. Conduct regularly scheduled staff meetings with dispensary pharmacists and all team members
- Accountable for leading market culture that ensures superior customer experience.
- Create, execute and participate in community outreach programs that engage patients and build brand loyalty
- Ensure dispensary staffing plans are in line with corporate strategies by interviewing, hiring, on boarding and training dispensary talent. Oversee performance management to include performance reviews, performance improvement plans, development plans, and disciplinary actions as necessary
- Work to ensure alignment between online and retail sites in conjunction with the Ecommerce team
- Actively participates in team member assessments
- Assess schedules for retail locations in a timely manner and appropriately allocate staff by day of week and time of day in accordance with the needs of the business & payroll budget
- Provide the motivation and recognition to team members to foster a strong morale, and spirit in the team
- Communicate in a concise, clear, and honest manner, making sure to tailor relevant information to the audience at hand
- Share information regularly with corporate team members, manufacturing, medical, and operations partners. Be prepared to give feedback on products in dispensaries, customer responses and procedures
- Assists with planning and evaluating staffing and hours of operation within dispensaries
- Ensure retail CPCs dispenses cannabis-based medications based on the patient qualifying condition and other factors
- Trains retail team and health care professionals on the use of cannabis-based medicines.
- Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals and patients
- Awareness of market demands and patient needs in area. Stays up to date on medical cannabis offerings
- Ensure all dispensaries and dispensary staff are in compliance with current state laws and regulations
- Responsible for implementation and delivery of key programs and initiatives that encourage an increase in sales and number of patients seen as well as any other initiatives that may be relevant to growth
- Participates in recordkeeping and reporting necessary for State compliance
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of retail management experience is required. Proficiency with MS Office required
- Minimum of 2 years of retail multi-unit management experience.

The District General Manager of Retail oversees day-to-day operations of Garden Remedies retail locations, providing leadership and direction related to customer experience, staffing levels, store performance, and profit. This staff member is ultimately responsible for developing a scalable and consistent positive customer experience that aligns with the Garden Remedies brand.
Responsibilities:
- Develops the retail management team to deliver quality customer experiences and effective operations plans
- Drives the implementation of company programs by motivating and supporting the retail management team to develop and implement plans that meet objectives

- Sales and operations leader with at least 7 years’ retail store sales, operations, and leadership experience in a high-volume retail environment ideally within a multi-store environment with responsibility for driving revenue and leading multiple locations. 3+ years cannabis industry experience will be considered.
- Experienced in execution of retail operations function.
- Strong personnel management and retail operations knowledge, including inventory control, loss prevention, retail POS systems, merchandising, SOP development, customer service and budget preparation.
- Solid business and financial acumen and reporting skills.
- Demonstrated track record in driving revenue and increasing store productivity.

- Identifies trends and opportunities to define changes in process and procedures that drive operations and selling agendas. Proactively collects voice of the customer feedback and uses feedback to implement new product offerings.
- Ensures a world-class experience exists for our customers. Understands and remains current on market demand for product offerings and ensures dispensary teams are trained to meet customer needs.
- Oversees relationships with vendors to enhance product offerings, promotions and pricing.
- Ensures the dispensary environment is one in which a personal, customer-focused, and service-oriented mentality is standard. A critical element of the role will be to ensure that the environment and customer experience reflect the Company’s vision and values
- Interacts closely with the compliance team to ensure all dispensaries and personnel are in compliance with State regulations, in all operations, processes, inventory management and protocol.
- Continuously improves operational performance in the business while considering consistency in operational processes, and the needs of the organization.
- Drives and influences productivity and cost saving opportunities in all operational components.
- Partners with internal teams to ensure product and store allocations provide a cohesive strategy and brand experience to drive sales revenue opportunities.
- Implements training and reinforces service, product, operations and management expectations through training and development of store teams.
- Maintains a presence in the field in order to effectively coach and support dispensary teams. Ensures operational priorities, processes and procedures are communicated, understood and executed consistently across all locations.
- Ensures all locations are in compliance with state regulations. Responsible for developing and managing relationships with regulators, and leading dispensary compliance audits.
- Maintains a strong working knowledge of regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred, or in place of degree, relevant industry experience will be considered.
- Sales and operations leader with at least 7 years’ retail store sales, operations, and leadership experience in a high-volume retail environment ideally within a multi-store environment with responsibility for driving revenue and leading multiple locations. 3+ years cannabis industry experience will be considered.
- Experienced in execution of retail operations function.
- Strong personnel management and retail operations knowledge, including inventory control, loss prevention, retail POS systems, merchandising, SOP development, customer service and budget preparation.
- Solid business and financial acumen and reporting skills.
- Demonstrated track record in driving revenue and increasing store productivity.
- A high-touch, credible, visible leader who could establish instant credibility and inspire the team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent people and organizational skills.
- Team player with the ability to gain consensus through collaboration and open dialogue.
- A sense of urgency, high energy, and hands-on approach.
- Prior medical cannabis experience a plus

The Retail District Manager leads Verilife dispensaries in Pennsulvania, and is responsible for growing dispensary revenue, developing dispensary objectives, and ensuring our customers receive consistent and exceptional service every visit. We’re looking for a highly motivated individual to enhance our customer experience, provide solid leadership to our retail teams, maximize revenue, and meet our future growth plans.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Provides direction and thought leadership to the retail organization, with a strong understanding of the brand, market and patient needs, as well as anticipating future needs.
- Maximizes and regularly reports and forecasts on retail productivity, sales and profit, while ensuring that standards of service excellence are continuously met and improved upon.
