Overview of Position
The dispensary Budtender will be responsible for hosting and conducting Adult-Use transactions within the designated TERPS retail location. All retail Budtenders will attend a week long training course hosted by the TERPS Training Administrator prior to conducting any customer facing transactions. Consistent cannabis education development and quality customer service are essential responsibilities for all Budtenders.
Upon completion of the training course, Budtenders will be able to assist customers on the sales floor and execute cannabis transactions from start to finish. Cash handling skills as well as developing an understanding of Massachusetts state Adult-Use rules and regulations will be a daily responsibility. Objective
Budtenders will utilize the approved educational tools and training to assist customers in their cannabis product selection. Good listening skills are an important characteristic of all retail employees, you will be responsible for understanding the customers needs and guide them to an appropriate product selection. Overview & Objective of Position
The Dispensary Assistant Manager (ADM/ ASM) is responsible for leading daily business needs while developing a customer-centric team environment among the retail agents within the dispensary. ASMs will be a part of the management team, specifically supporting the locations GM with daily tasks and responsibilities. There are core areas within the adult-use cannabis environment that will require heightened attention from the ASM, these include but are not limited to: compliance, execution of SOPs, customer service, inventory management, and budtender/ dispensary overall sales. All ASMs will attend a week-long training course hosted by the TERPS Training Manager prior to actively managing the dispensary. Upon completion of the training course, along with RVT, ASMs will be able to take full shifts within the dispensary.
ASMs will be responsible for fostering a positive, collaborative and educational company culture while also setting a positive leadership standard for the rest of the management team. ASMs will be responsible for displaying a commitment towards the advancement of cannabis resources by ensuring all agents receive their on-going training. The Management team (GM & ASM) is responsible for the maintenance of all financial and sales reporting, record keeping and communication to appropriate contacts; both internally and state reporting. ASMs will be expected to maintain a comprehensive understanding of all applicable CCC/ state regulations. Along with the sales floor agents, ASMs will answer questions regarding cannabis product information, safe consumption and general use when necessary. The role and responsibilities of the ASM will be overseen by the GM and VP of Retail Operations.

Security/Receptionist
JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Loss Prevention Supervisor the Security/Receptionist personnel is responsible for checking in guests and ensuring all visitors and customers are 21 years of age or older. The Retail supervisor of a dispensary is responsible for assisting the manager in overseeing a team of 40 or more dispensary employees. Nova Farms is currently hiring a Manual Cigar Roller for our new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility located in Attleboro, MA. The Manual Cigar Roller is responsible for overseeing the technical operations and ensuring the production of high quality rolled cannabis cigars. Some responsibilities include product inventory maintenance, ensuring that company quality standards are followed, product packaging & general production support, general problem solving, utilizing creativity in innovating new product ideas, and lifting & stocking boxes of up to 50lbs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Carefully selects, shapes and cuts cannabis fan leaves, and palm leaves into specific shapes with a knife and template.
- Packs filler evenly into leaves by rolling them together, for the cigar to have a smooth burn.
- Secures the end of the wrapper with glue, and trims any irregularities in the cigar to specified length.
- Assesses finished cigars for consistent measurements such as weight, size, draw, diameter and other imperfections.
- Implement solutions to quality problems through inspections, investigations, and audits.
- Cleaning & preparation of rooms and equipment
- Comply with record keeping requirements
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
- Interface with all Nova departments on a frequent basis

The Lab Manager is responsible for overseeing the technical operations and ensuring the production of high quality cannabis extracts. This position is responsible for planning, overseeing, and directing all operations of the laboratory. Some responsibilities include product inventory maintenance, delegation of tasks, data analysis & reporting, cannabinoid testing as well as troubleshooting and problem solving for machines and the production process. Experience in working with BHO and Ethanol extraction is required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee and direct the technical personnel and operational methods of the laboratory.
- Provide guidance as requested regarding hiring, training, promotions, and disciplinary issues for laboratory personnel.
- Ensure that the testing laboratory achieves, maintains, and improves as needed quality standards and appropriate laboratory accreditation.

Preferred Requirements

- 5+ years of manufacturing and operations experience with for a diversity of industries/products
- Demonstrated experience in large scale plant production, engineering, lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma, planning, scheduling, quality, continuous improvement methods and project management
- Demonstrated success in building teams and processes during a high growth period

General Manager (Full Time): $65,000 - $85,000 Annually
Summary: The General Manager of Dispensary is responsible for overseeing and managing a team of dispensary employees and in some cases for multiple locations. This position will involve directly managing and making the dispensary operational. The General Manager serves as staff mentor and supervisor and brand ambassador.
We are seeking a passionate, driven, detailed oriented and collaborative General Manager of Dispensary to provide leadership, direction, and support, overseeing daily operations of the dispensary, including handling the needs of all customers and hiring and developing a team of Product Associates who are enthusiastic about delivering a best-in-class, innovative cannabis retail experience that is compliant with state and local rules and regulations. The ideal candidate can adapt to the dispensary owners’ business model and has demonstrated leadership experience, as he or she will be given significant responsibility with the launch and operation of the dispensary while maximizing sales with a customer service focus. Previous cannabis retail experience is preferred .
Responsibilities
- Implement Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs), best practices, and policies to advance the mission, vision, goals, and objectives at the store level
- Hire, develop, and train dispensary employees. Lead the development of employee training materials, including education and development of staff regarding cannabis strains, products, and consumption mechanisms
- Assist in the launch and opening, as well as maintain the ongoing operations of the dispensary
- Manage financial records and cash handling procedures
- Maintain all confidential information
- Oversee store opening and closing activities
- Collaborate with other functional leaders in developing and implementing a best-in-class customer experience
- Deliver optimal productivity in stores through operational excellence, process improvement, and consistent resolution of challenges
- Conduct performance reviews of dispensary employees on a regular basis
- Interface with wholesalers and cultivation/production companies to negotiate and source quality product supply
- Coordinate and staff dispensary schedule
- Manage all aspects of dispensary with a customer-first mentality and an intense focus on company culture and ethics, customer service, sales growth, and brand standards
- Provide input regarding marketing strategy and initiatives in collaboration with current managers and marketing team
- Work collaboratively with compliance, security, and transportation managers regarding compliance, loss prevention, security, and logistics on all mutual issues and in prioritization of needs
- Serve as a liaison to the local community
- Coordinate outreach and educational programming (with input from cultivation/production companies and marketing team)
- Interface with IT managers to develop and continually assess technology implementation and adjust based on business needs
- Ensure compliance on all policies, standards, and values
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of every product and strain in the store, as well as industry-wide product knowledge
- Stay abreast of customer and business trends and actively communicate with corporate stakeholders to provide input on retail and strategic business initiatives
- Ensure that physical environment is safe, sanitary, and that all equipment/technology is in good working order
- Lead initiatives, store strategies, and specific projects at the store level that may be assigned by executive-level management
Qualifications
Education:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required
Work Experience:
- 2 plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. We recommend Cannabis Community College for the required state compliance & technical training (www.cannabisommunitycollege.com) but we accept all state approved responsible vendors.
- Significant managerial experience in a retail or restaurant environment
- Cannabis experience preferred
- Considerable exposure to retail cultures focused on well-developed standard operating procedures and management and employee training programs
- Experience in inventory management and reconciliation
- Human Resources management experience including hiring, training, records management, performance reviews, payroll processing, and more
- Work history that demonstrates stability, progressive responsibility, and willingness to accept new duties
Capabilities and Skills:
- Exceptional team building, communication and people skills
- High level of integrity and a strong work ethic
- Exceptional willingness to be a hands-on manager and fill gaps to accomplish business objectives
- Proficiency in computer usage including retail point-of-sale software, all MS Office applications, email, scheduling software, online conferencing, and more
- Ability to develop, analyze, and interpret key performance metrics, and read, analyze, and interpret financial reports relating to dispensary performance metrics
- Strong problem-solving skills including anticipatory thinking and the ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a calm composure
- Demonstrated ability to work comfortably and effectively within a diverse, multicultural, multigenerational environment
Other Requirements:
- Extended time sitting, walking, bending, and reaching is possible
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds for a distance of 50 feet
- Must pass stringent background tests as required by the state.
- Minimum of 21 years of age
- Possess valid driver’s license or state ID card

The role of the Compliance Specialist is to ensure that Nova Farms follows all compliance items permitted by the Cannabis Control Commission (CCC) to maintain active and future operating licenses. This role is ideal for someone who has Paralegal or a strong Administrative background. This position will report directly into the Compliance Director. The Compliance Specialist should have strong project management and attention to detail. Nova Farms will train on cannabis compliance regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain employee Agent Cards
- Initial issue and renewal process
- Termination process and agent card deactivation and destruction
- Manage CCC Personnel Requirements
- Track and report on company employment data and relationships to assure we’re reacting company goals on Social Equity & Diversity
- Ensure Nova Farms is on track to meet our Positive Impact Disproportionately Harmed Areas and People plan
- Make sure that all CCC files are compliant and necessary documentation is separate from sensitive HR documentation
- SOP Updates and Access
- Maintain SOP documentation by creating and maintaining an SOP library
- Limit access to those permitted to view most up-to-date SOP’s
- When plans/process need to be changed, work with appropriate team to update SOP’s and get approval from Compliance Director before updating SOP’s and publishing new version
- Maintain compliance meeting schedule
- Voice concerns regarding compliance issues to Compliance Director
- Work with HR to meet CCC Requirements pertaining to personnel, along with other ad hoc HR tasks that may require assistance in the busy season (recruiting, communications/ announcements, employee files, etc.)
- Work with Compliance Director to ensure that Inventory teams are reporting on their monthly and annual comprehensive inventory audits
- Work with Compliance Director to ensure that Security team is reporting on their monthly security audits
- Additional ad hoc tasks as needed
- Ability to travel to our locations across MA (Attleboro, MA, Framingham, MA and Sheffield MA)
Requirements:
- METRC experiences is required
- Proficient in Excel and Google Sheets
- High School Diploma/GED Required, Associates degree preferred
- Heavy administrative duties
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High level of organization
- Ability to work in a fast-paced start-up environment
