Overview:

· River Remedy is a vertically-integrated medical cannabis company that produces a variety of consumer packaged goods for distribution among medical cannabis dispensaries in Mississippi.

· The Director of Manufacturing role works alongside the Director of Cultivation and Chief Operating Officer to lead a team focused on rapid production of compliant, cost efficient, and high quality medical cannabis products.

· The Director of Manufacturing will manage the post-harvest processing of cannabis flower, laboratory operations (extraction and processing), edible manufacturing, pre-roll manufacturing, and all final packaging.

Responsibilities:

· Generate production schedules by department based on upcoming capacity forecasts and sales forecasts.

· Oversee the preventative maintenance of all manufacturing equipment.

· Hire Lab Production Lead, Kitchen Lead, and Packaging Lead along with other manufacturing department technicians lead ahead of product and process launches.

· Ensure all product labeling is executed in regulatory compliant manner.

· Audit and ensure inventory accuracy in each department.

· Oversee the IQ, OQ, PQ process of all new equipment.

· Regularly analyze human capital vs. forecasts to ensure desired production capacity is met.

· Ensure all inventory items are properly tagged and tracked within state mandated seed-to-sale software and River Remedy’s internal ERP system.

· Build out inventory par levels for various components and products within the various production processes.

· Oversee the relationship between River Remedy and its licensed testing partners.

· Train Department Leads on all inventory software, compliance software and other processes.

· Design a lean component ordering process based on lead times, on-hand inventory, and forecasted sales.

· Oversee all repairs, upgrades, and installations within the various manufacturing departments.

· Maintain production data logs.

· Work with business systems to develop framework for producing a Daily Production Report for the Management Team’s review.

Qualifications:

· 5+ years of manufacturing experience.

· 7+ years of management experience.

· B.S. in Engineering, manufacturing, or management preferred.

· Lean/Six Sigma Certification preferred.

· Prior experience in commercial food, packaging, or cannabis production preferred.

· Obtain Cannabis Work Permit (involves background check)

The Director of Manufacturing will report to the COO and will lead our team toward our goal of becoming a national leader in the manufacture of Cannabis-infused edibles, topicals, and vape products.

The ideal candidate will have recently worked at a large food manufacturer in a production leadership capacity. Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinate, lead, and supervise all activities within product manufacturing, including planning, organizing, and directing production activities.

• Avoid product recalls.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts throughout product manufacturing. Ensure policies and procedures are effectively implemented to continually optimize the facility.
• Ensure the highest safety standards for food preparation. We are a GMP facility.
• Improve the productivity of product manufacturing.
• Help us reduce costs.
• Participate in and help us improve short and long-range planning, labor scheduling, product scheduling, and sourcing.
• Effectively manage vendor relationships and fully leverage vendor capabilities to support our production.
• Motivate, lead and communicate clear expectations to our production teams by developing a culture of transparency, collaboration, trust and respect.

Position Objective:
Reporting to the Vice President, Operations and Supply Chain, the Director, CPG Manufacturing is responsible for leading the optimization of all CPG manufacturing and supply chain operations, driving manufacturing best practices, quality, production and commercialization of CPG finished products, ensuring consistency and effective delivery, high standards of regulatory safety and compliance, effective continuous improvement activities, and maintain a strong team focused culture aligned with Schwazze’s values.

Essential Functions:
Design and implement management controls to improve manufacturing processes and ensure the required resources, procedures, and systems are present, keeping current with industry trends to identify ways to implement standardized progressive technology across locations.

Lead efforts in collaboration with R&D, marketing, regional leadership for improving existing products, including design, execution, and delivery, to maximize productivity and innovation through technical assessments, cost/opportunity, or prioritization implications.

Experience and Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or related field is required

10+ years of operations/manufacturing/fulfillment experience with increasing responsibility within the preferred CPG / NHP industries (pharmaceutical, food and beverage, consumer goods)

Experience in a manufacturing setting with a focus on operational efficiencies and continuous improvement

Proven ability to manage numerous projects and resources remotely in the highly dispersed organization

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Manager/Director (experience dependant) to oversee the manufacturing of finished goods for a wide range of ingestible products in a cGMP facility. You will be responsible for running and scaling this business line, and implementing systems to ensure on-time production for third party clients. The goal is to ensure an efficient and productive manufacturing process that meets customer requirements. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer or Chief Strategy Officer.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement operational systems to ensure on-time manufacturing, accurate quoting, and forecasting.
• Direct hiring and staff management with executive collaboration and approval, including making organizational chart recommendations required to meet objectives.
• Oversee staff management of both full time employees and part-time labor as needed to meet objectives.
• Lead cross departmental collaboration liaising with QA/QC, product development, facility + equipment, supply chain, fulfillment, and sales departments.
• Provide input to the Equipment and Facilities team regarding new equipment selection, commissioning, and repair on an ongoing basis.
• Organize workflow to meet specifications and deadlines.
• Identify and implement team goals including KPI's on a daily, monthly, and quarterly basis.
• Ensure accurate customer lead time quotes, cost estimates, and collaborate with the finance, product development, procurement, and sales departments for alignment.
• Prepare budgets as directed by the finance department.

• Supervise and evaluate performance of production personnel (quality inspectors, workers etc.)
• Determine the amount of necessary resources (workforce, raw materials, packaging materials) to be successful on an ongoing basis.
• Deploy and implement a rigorous culture of quality control and collaborate with the Quality team to ensure compliance with with the numerous certifications at the facility including, but not limited to cGMP (111 and 117), PCQI, Organic, Halal, Kosher, NASC.
• Support quality assurance department during customer and regulatory audits.
• Enforce health and safety precautions including adherence to OSHA protocols.

• Experience managing and building teams in a cGMP and OSHA compliant environment.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This Director of Manufacturing will be responsible for overseeing and directly managing manufacturing within the facility. This role will provide guidance, leadership, actively manage, share information, and best practices. This Director of Manufacturing will be responsible for aligning corporate directives and initiatives, ensuring the required level of quality, safety, and service is achieved by holding the staff accountable. • Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations and ensure a safe, efficient, productive and positive work environment

• Manage ingredient, raw material, and packaging procurement, coordinate material and resource allocation
• Create and manage daily, weekly, and long-term production and sourcing schedules to meet company needs
• Develop and maintain KPIs for monitoring operational efficiency of manufacturing programs and for employees
• Hire, train and hold team members accountable to company standards
• Ensure compliance with cGMP regulations, local and state governing bodies, OSHA and other relevant worker safety regulations in a manufacturing environment
• Ensure utilization of ERP and QMS to ensure consistent products and high quality control
• Partner with technology and compliance team to ensure efficient regulatory compliance for all manufacturing related activities (document records, inventory counts, etc.)
• Maintain a robust Quality Management System to ensure consistent quality control

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Manufacturing, Engineering or similar field or at least 4 years experience in cannabis manufacturing
• Experience with hydrocarbon extraction and CO2 extraction a plus
• 10 plus years experience managing product, staff, and resources in a commercial manufacturing operation
  
• Contract and vendor negotiation experience
• Demonstrated ability to achieve manufacturing objectives in terms of volume, product mix, cost, and quality
• Extensive knowledge in environment, health and safety standards in agricultural operations required
• Extensive knowledge of food safety, security and GMP guidelines
• Previous commercial cannabis growing experience preferred.
• Enjoys working in a start-up, fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently in a highly organized manner
• Must pass a drug and criminal background check

The National Director of Manufacturing will be responsible for assisting the VP of Manufacturing with planning and overseeing manufacturing within the company. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Engineering, or similar field with equivalent industry experience
• Proven experience managing equipment, product, staff, and resources in a large-scale cannabis or manufacturing operation
• Strong working knowledge of extraction methodologies (CO2, hydrocarbon, solventless, ethanol)

Position Overview

Curio Wellness is seeking a Director of Manufacturing with lean management system experience to lead the manufacturing of medicinal products in our state-of-the-art cannabis extraction and manufacturing facility. The scope of operations includes production planning, extraction, processing, packaging, laboratory testing/quality control testing and inventory management functions. A major focus of this position is to drive operational efficiency, meet demanding production schedules to produce products on-time and within budget in a highly dynamic and rapidly growing environment. The position reports to the VP of Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Execute strategy by establishing clear goals and metrics for the operational teams aligned to corporate financial goals to produce high quality products with increased efficiency and profitability.
• Develop metrics for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Productivity and align team objectives to improve performance.
• Develop manufacturing plans and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing consistent with cGMP operations to ensure that products conform to established quality standards and safety regulations/standards.
  
• Responsible for developing and maintaining a lean management system creating processes that are free of waste and produce products of high quality.
  
• Set up work cells/teams utilizing continuous single piece flow and standardized work. Engage teams in continuous improvement through daily Gemba Walks, 5S and quality checks as well as kaizen events and daily problem solving.
• Recruit, train, develop, and retain new and current staff. Motivate and coach team members to achieve their best and create an engaged culture in continuous improvement.
• This position is responsible for the P+L of manufactured products and requires close coordination with Sales and New Product Development to ensure stock availability and launch of new products on time and at desired cost.
• Assure compliance with all health and safety standards.
• Ensure that all staff are adequately trained for their job functions to meet regulatory and safety standards for cannabis processing and manufacturing.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including GLP, GCP and CLIA
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

Required:

• Bachelor's degree or greater in a technical field or quantitative discipline and/or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing management, preferably in a process-oriented operation and/or related industry. A minimum of 5 years of experience managing a significant segment of a large manufacturer or the entire operation of a smaller manufacturer.
• Demonstrated ability to manage operations to established targets
• Ability to schedule and plan workloads, implement systems and projects that align with strategic objectives of the company Demonstrated experience working in a highly regulated environment (ISO, OSHA and FDA) is preferred.

The Lab Director is responsible and accountable for the production of concentrates and formulated products and all aspects of the tracking and quality control management. Ensures the safe, accurate and timely testing and production of concentrates and formulated products. The Director of Science and Manufacturing will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and will play a key role as part of the executive team. The Director of Science and Manufacturing (the “DSM”) will be responsible for managing all aspects of operations, including warehousing, processing, extraction, analysis, formulation, packaging, and HS&E (health, safety and environmental).

• Will establish and implement Manufacturing Excellence principles to meet and improve upon operational performance and customer requirements.
• Assist in managing manufacturing supervisors and their overall direction, development, activity, and results.
• In collaboration with Human Resources develops and maintains a productive work team by assisting in creating programs for hiring, training, and professional development of hourly and salaried staff.
• Enforce and establish quality, safety, and general work standards and policies aligned with ISO/TS requirements in addition to compliance with all related regulatory agencies, including OSHA.
• Assist in Identifying and improving plant operating costs related to productivity, materials, manufacturing, and reduction of scrap and costs.
• Analyze and lead resolution of manufacturing trends and core issues, participate in planning and recommendation of space, personnel, and equipment.
• Will assist in establishing and maintaining department and capital budgets which help to maximize utilization of materials, machines, employees, and other resources.
• Will work to ensure proper and efficient use of equipment, facility, and manufacturing sites thru effective training and resource management to improve downtime and minimize overall operating costs.
• Travel could be considerable at times (25%-50%)

Qualifications

• Minimum 10-15 years of manufacturing operations experience
• Must have five years experience as Plant Manager in an automotive setting
• Bachelor of Science in Business or Engineering
• Highly motivated self-starter with strong leadership skills capable of managing multiple cross-functional teams and projects.
• Excellent communications skills required as well as have and the ability to work effectively with all other functional groups throughout the organization
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills that will enable the director the ability to lead, motivate, and get results in a matrix organization.
• Required to think strategically in order to adapt to a changing environment.
• The candidate will need to have excellent analytical skills in order to problem solve and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Ability to create and implement cost reductions thru continuous improvement methodologies.
• Customer-focused individual with exceptional problem-solving skills and a strong sense of urgency.
• Able to motivate and lead technical teams
• Experience working with and in a union environment and withing a bargaining unit
