EPIC Labs is seeking a Processing Technician to join our team! Our ideal candidate would be a proactive, goal-oriented individual who can become an integral part of our exciting and growing company!
This role is responsible for assisting with lab procedures and infused products production, which includes, but not limited to, inventory management, assisting in the manufacturing process, and formulation and packaging. This role will require adherence to compliance requirements and lab safety. Our ideal candidate will assist the lab team with the activities and operations required to complete the functions of the department.
Core Job Duties
Manufacturing:
- Candidate must be a self-starter, flexible to work in a collaborative structure and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Operate technical machinery
- Responsible for the preparation, execution, extraction and processing of product in accordance with the regulatory standards
- Ensures consistency and efficacy of product through quality control testing and procedures
- Responsible for product processing and product formulation
- Assist in packaging department, as needed
Facility Cleaning:
- Ensure a clean and safe production facility
- Maintain strong personal hygiene habits washing hands, wearing a hair net, changing clothes.
- Sanitize all production equipment and tools including workspace, lab equipment, containers, and appliances.
Security / Transportation
- Candidate will assist in the delivery of products to dispensaries
Additional Requirements
- Two years of experience in a lab that adheres to strict health and safety policies
- Past experience in a highly regulated field producing pharmaceutical or nutraceutical products preferred
- Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
- Must be able to obtain a state-issued agent badge, which includes passing a background check free of felony convictions
- Must be 21 years of age or older to apply

Job Description
We are seeking trimmers who have been adversely impacted by the enforcement of cannabis-related laws in Illinois. This includes those who currently reside in disproportionately impacted areas* as well as those who have been arrested for, convicted of, or adjudicated delinquent for any offense that is eligible for expungement under the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act**. Members of an impacted family may apply as well***.
The right candidate demonstrates proficiency, organization, calmness, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment; is resourceful and able to work both independently and with a team, and prioritizes quality and customer service. Trimmers are primarily responsible for the efficiency and quality of the marijuana plant trimming in preparation for sale.
The state of Illinois defines the following terms as such:
- “disproportionately impacted areas” means a census tract or comparable geographic area that:
(1) meets at least one of the following criteria:
(A) the area has a poverty rate of at least 20% according to the latest federal decennial census; or
(B) 75% or more of the children in the area participate in the federal free lunch program according to reported statistics from the State Board of Education; or
(C) at least 20% of the households in the area receive assistance under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program; or
(D) the area has an average unemployment rate, as determined by the Illinois Department of Employment Security, that is more than 120% of the national unemployment average, as determined by the United States Department of Labor, for a period of at least 2 consecutive calendar years preceding the date of the application; and
(2) has high rates of arrest, conviction, and incarceration related to the sale, possession, use, cultivation, manufacture, or transport of cannabis.
** “Offenses eligible for expungement under the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act” include possession of cannabis up to 500g or the manufacturing and delivery of up to 30g of cannabis.
*** “Member of an impacted family” means an individual who has a parent, legal guardian, child, spouse, or dependent, or was a dependent of an individual who, prior to the effective date of the Act, was arrested for, convicted of, or adjudicated delinquent for any offense that is eligible for expungement under this Act.
Education/Experience
Qualified trimmers possess a combination of retail experience and at least a high school diploma to fulfill the day-to-day requirements of the position. Experience in the medical cannabis industry is highly desirable, but not required. Must be 21 years old and be able to pass a criminal background check.

Job Summary
This position is responsible for taking part in the proper harvest of dry marijuana flower product, including hanging dry flower on lines in dry room during harvest and bucking dry flower from stem during bucking production. This is the last step in the growing process before processors trim and send to recreational stores. Supports and adheres to company's Standards of Conduct & Discipline.
