The Oregon Liquor & Cannabis Commission (OLCC) is recruiting for a Compliance Specialist 3 (License Process Technician) position in our Licensing Division located at 9079 SE McLoughlin Blvd., Portland, OR.
The License Process Technician advises field staff in the Liquor Licensing Program on how to apply administrative rules; guides use of discretion in investigating applications and applying law; makes delegated decisions to grant, deny, or restrict liquor licenses; facilitates management and Commission decision making; explores issues of policy and administrative law to help provide or revise the basic structure of the Public Safety Services Program; infers policy and create guidelines for field staff based on analysis of decisions; assists in communication of Commission policy and perspective to publics outside the Commission.

Who are we?
The OLCC is the agency responsible for regulating the sale and service of alcoholic beverages in Oregon by administering the state's Liquor Control Act and regulating the production, processing and sale of recreational marijuana in Oregon through the Control, Regulation and Taxation of Marijuana and Industrial Hemp Act. The agency also regulates the production, processing and sale of medical products sold to Oregon Medical Marijuana Program (OMMP) cardholders in OLCC licensed marijuana retail shops.
The agency is comprised of three major operational programs; the Distilled Spirits Program, the Recreational Marijuana Program, and the Public Safety Program. All three programs are supported by the Administration, Financial Services, and Support Services divisions. Revenue generated from these programs helps support state and local government programs. There was more than $625 million in revenue generated for state, county and city programs from 2020-22.
What are some of the supporting duties?
- Reviews work performed by liquor license investigators. Provides guidance and training to members of the Section. Makes delegated decisions to grant licenses.
- Analyzes issues and options including exploratory matters of authority and policy for license matters presented to executive staff and the commissioners. Makes presentations of these matters at scheduled Commission Director’s Decision meetings, License Policy Committee meetings, special meetings and in ad hoc forums. Responds to questions on these matters orally and in writing, and participates in discussions.
- Facilitates meetings of the License Policy Committee to assist focused and complete consideration of licensing issues. Provides guidance to regulatory and executive staff on policy, procedure, exercise of discretion, investigative priorities, application of law and presentation of written reports. Analyzes impact of law changes for executive staff.
- Reviews licensing reports submitted by field staff and managers for completeness, consistency with Commission practice, and accurate application of policy, law and guidelines.
- Researches and analyzes laws, rules, case precedents and lawmakers’ intent in order to make recommendations on license direction and policy decisions to regulatory managers, executive staff and the Commissioners orally and in writing.
- Identifies need, develops concepts and drafts language for new licensing laws and revisions. Conducts research and prepares analysis and recommendation on proposed legislation and administrative rules.
What do you need to qualify? Minimum Qualifications:
Five years’ experience doing administrative research that included compiling and evaluating facts to recommend management action, or decide compliance or eligibility with program guidelines and regulations. Three of the five years must be above the technical support level.

College-level course work may substitute for experience on the basis of 45-quarter units per year, up to a maximum of three years.

The Role
GTI is seeking a Quality and Compliance Specialist to join our cultivation facility. As a Quality and Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for executing operational quality and compliance related activities at the facility associated with sampling and inspection of incoming material, in process, and finished products, documentation control, quality event investigation, compliance, and audit. This position will also help ensure products are being produced in a manner that meets all specifications and brand consistency. You will also assist in identifying potential quality risks and working with operations personnel to develop improvement opportunities. Uses experience and knowledge to influence processes, standards, and plans to improve compliance with internal and external standards.
Responsibilities
- Establish and perform incoming, in-process, and finished product sampling and inspection.
- Reviews in-process batch documentation, logbooks, test results, and good documentation practices.
- Assist site documentation control system. Ensure harmonization of 1GTI quality system.
- Writes Quality Inspection SOPs and forms, including routing and/or approval of change request packages, as requested.
- Facilitate State regulatory and/or 3rd party site inspections.
- Monitor site's compliance to GTI corporate Quality System.
- Assist in performing weekly internal audit to monitor site's compliance activities to State regulations
- Segregation, control and disposition of non-conforming product.
- Identify, recommend and perform quality training as needed.
- Ensure maintenance and control of production quality records.
- Assist production personnel in the investigation of root causes and corrective action of internal rejects, corrective/preventive action, out of control SPC points, and customer complaints.
- Continually study the existing quality system and make recommendations for improvements.
- Perform improvement projects as identified.
- Collect quality data and report metrics to management.
- Monitors compliance to established Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidance.
Qualifications
- Associates Degree required
- Prior experience in regulated industry in healthcare, medical devices, pharmaceutical, consumer packaged goods (food), or cannabis is highly desired.
- Highly desirable: FDA, GMP, SQF, and/or HACCP experience.
- Strong experience with product sampling and inspection.
- Ability to follow written procedures and monitor others for adherence to written procedures.
- Ability to create or update written procedures with site operations personnel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Must understand and comply with the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of GTI.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Open-minded self-starter with the ability to adapt and problem solve, as well manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Understanding of the Medical Marijuana laws, rules and regulations is preferred and the passion to further their understanding and knowledge of the industry and the laws.

What will you do?
Develop, in conjunction with other executive staff and compliance technicians, the standards and procedures for licensing marijuana businesses in Oregon; assist Division Director with establishing performance benchmarks, evaluating effectiveness of the marijuana licensing activities, and make recommendations on process and policy changes as needed to increase marijuana licensing program’s efficiency and effectiveness; monitor coordinate, review and provide feedback on the work of the agency’s marijuana licensing staff statewide to ensure consistency in licensing decisions and adherence to applicable state statutes, administrative rules, and agency policies; identify internal and external training needs related to the agency’s marijuana licensing functions, and create and deliver effective training as needed regarding marijuana licensing processes and procedures.
Here are some of the essential duties you will perform:
In conjunction with Division Director, appropriate regional manager, and Director of Public Safety as needed, reviews, coordinates, and monitors the work of marijuana licensing staff for completeness, statewide consistency, and accurate application of applicable laws, policies and procedures.
Develops, reviews and maintains marijuana licensing forms and related publications. Coordinates with appropriate agency staff for public disbursement of licensing forms and publications as appropriate. Creates and revises forms and publications as needed to reflect current status of applicable laws, policies and procedures.
Reviews and consults with Division Director and other technical staff as needed to develop, manage and modify the Marijuana Licensing Manual to ensure it reflects the current status of applicable laws, policies, procedures and guidelines.
Reviews licensing reports submitted by agency staff and managers for completeness, consistency with Commission practice, and accurate application of policy, law and guidelines. Informs licensing staff of deficits, provides additional guidance and explanation, and requests report additions and revisions. Reports deficits periodically or upon request to regional managers or other executive staff.
Provides technical guidance to agency staff including the interpretation of relevant marijuana laws, policies, procedures and guidelines.
Participates as a member of the program’s technical team, which may include:
Reviewing, developing and revising recommendations regarding program-related legislative concepts, statutes and administrative rules. Developing and refining evaluation criteria to measure marijuana licensing efficiency and effectiveness. In consultation with Division Director, provides technical assistance to industry associations, governmental bodies, special interest groups, the Commissioners, and other executive staff. Evaluating complex licensing issues that may have broad impacts on agency practices and precedent. Confers with appropriate executive staff on findings and proposed resolutions in high profile and/or sensitive marijuana licensing decisions.
Obtain and analyze license application documentation to determine license eligibility. Provides licensees with consultative assistance by developing strategies for achieving compliance with applicable statutes, administrative rules and other laws.
Represents the Commission to licensees, applicants and their representatives, the public, and local and state government agencies by giving sound technical advice and policy interpretation when explaining marijuana licensing laws, policies, rules, and procedures.
Using discretion and consulting with appropriate executive and technical staff, develops solutions regarding licensing decisions for issues not clearly defined in policy. Assists marijuana program staff, licensing staff, compliance staff, and executive staff in the design and development of a system for licensing marijuana businesses.
Conducts research and analyzes statutes, administrative rules, policies and other relevant materials to recommend structure for the agency’s marijuana licensing functions. Assists in the development of rules, standards, processes, procedures and policies for licensing marijuana businesses. Assists in the development and refinement of marijuana licensing criteria and application on a statewide level.
In conjunction with Division Director and other technical staff, develops a Marijuana Licensing Manual according to program goals in order to ensure statewide consistency in the application of marijuana licensing rules, policies and procedures. Develops licensing application forms and other documents related to marijuana licensing functions.
Evaluates marijuana licensing goals, policies and procedures for alignment and compliance with applicable laws and policies, many of which are not clearly defined. Reviews and analyzes program records to ensure statewide consistency in the application of the agency’s marijuana licensing rules, policies and procedures. Collects information from marijuana licensing staff on licensing successes and challenges. Determines and recommends policy and rule changes needed to achieve program success.
Identifies needs and, in consultation with program Director and other technical staff, develops concepts and drafts language for new marijuana regulatory laws and revisions as needed. Conducts research and prepares analysis and recommendations on proposed legislation and administrative rules as needed. Analyzes the impacts of law changes on marijuana regulation for executive staff.
Identifies areas of education and training needed internally and externally related to the agency’s marijuana licensing functions. Develops and delivers training modules for internal staff to ensure standardized marijuana licensing practices across the state, and up-to-date internal knowledge on applicable marijuana licensing laws, policies, procedures and guidelines.
In consultation with the Division Director, develops and delivers training modules related to the agency’s marijuana licensing functions for other stakeholders including local government groups, special interest groups, legislators, and industry participants, and the general public as needed. Coordinate larger and more complex training events with other agency staff when appropriate.
Prepares and presents documents needed for contested case hearings when needed in marijuana licensing actions. Testifies at hearing as needed. Liaisons with Administrative Policy and Process staff and/or DOJ to evaluate legal sufficiency of marijuana licensing contested cases. Aids DOJ in the prosecution of licensing actions. Testifies on behalf of the agency at hearing or in other legal proceedings as needed.

The Role
GTI is seeking a Quality and Compliance Technician to join our cultivation facility. The purpose of this position is to ensure through process performance audits that all raw ingredients, raw materials, packaging, and finished products comply with all applicable regulations and meet or exceed the customer's expectations and to take action when predefined standards are not met.
Responsibilities
Minimum 50% of time, Maximum of 100% of time will be spent on the following task:
Establish and perform incoming, in-process, and finished product sampling and inspection.
Additional Duties:
- Reviews in-process batch documentation, logbooks, test results, and good documentation practices.
- Write quality inspection Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and forms, including routing and/or approval of change request packages, as requested.
- Facilitate State regulatory and/or 3rd Party site inspections.
- Conduct internal audits to monitor site compliance to GTI corporate Quality System and PA State regulations.
- Segregation, control, and disposition of non-conforming product.
- Identify, recommend, and perform quality training as needed.
- Ensure maintenance and control of production quality records.
- Assist production personnel in the investigation of root causes and corrective action of internal rejects, corrective/preventive action, preventive control points, and customer complaints.
- Continually study the existing quality system and make recommendations for improvements.
- Perform improvement projects as identified.
- Collect quality data and report metrics to management.
- Monitors compliance to established Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidance.
- Expected to adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect product safety, product quality or personnel safety.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.
- May make decisions and perform the job responsibilities of the Quality & Compliance Manager in their absence.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills
- Associate degree in Agriculture, Horticulture or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
- Prior experience in regulated industry in healthcare, medical devices, pharmaceutical, consumer packaged goods (food), or cannabis is highly desired.
- Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safe Quality Food (SQF) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) experience is highly desired.
- Strong experience with product sampling and inspection.
- Ability to follow written procedures and monitor others for adherence to written procedures.
- Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks and problem solve effectively.
- Exceptional computer skills in Microsoft® Office Suite (Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Word).

The Role
GTI is seeking a Quality and Compliance Specialist to join our cultivation facility. Job Description:
The Oregon Liquor & Cannabis Commission (OLCC) is looking to fill one Alcohol Compliance Technician (Compliance Specialist 3) position in our Compliance Division located at 9079 SE McLoughlin Blvd in Portland, OR.
We are posting this as an internal and external recruitment opportunity. Individuals who currently work for the OLCC will be given preference during the application process.
Who are we?
The OLCC is the agency responsible for regulating the sale and service of alcoholic beverages, the production and sale of recreational marijuana, the tracking of Oregon Health Authority medical marijuana, and the tracking of industrial hemp products sold in OLCC retail stores. The agency is comprised of three major operational programs; the Distilled Spirits Program, the Marijuana Program, and the Public Safety Program. All three programs are supported by the Administration, Financial Services, and Support Services divisions. Revenue generated from these programs helps support state and local government programs. The OLCC’s Public Safety Program licenses and regulates businesses in the alcohol and marijuana industry such as manufacturers, bars, restaurants, retail outlets, grocery and convenience stores.
What will you do?
The purpose of this position is to develop standards and procedures for regulating alcohol businesses in Oregon. This position trains and oversees the work of alcohol regulatory staff and other OLCC staff as assigned, evaluates the effectiveness of the compliance program functions, advises management on opportunities for improvement and conducts investigations on the most complex or sensitive cases. This position also coordinates and facilitates projects and workgroups as assigned and represents OLCC in meetings both inside and outside the agency.
Here are some of the essential duties you will perform:
Develops rules, standards and procedures for regulating liquor licensed businesses. Develops liquor compliance criteria and standards. Develops and maintains a compliance manual, policies and procedures at manager’s direction and according to program goals and performance measures in order to ensure statewide consistency in the application of rules and procedures. Develops compliance inspection templates, inspection form letters, warning and citation notices and other documents related to liquor compliance functions. Develops compliance policy, direction and guidance by researching, interpreting, and analyzing laws, case precedents, agency policy, and law-makers intent with. Recommendations including policy rationale are made to OLCC staff, managers or executive staff orally and in writing. Develops recommendations on the structure of the compliance program by researching and analyzing, independently and in committee work, compliance program purpose, administrative law, and staff practices. Identifies areas of non-compliance and ways to improve the program. Reviews program records for compliance to policy, rules or other requirements. Recommends adjustments needed to achieve program effectiveness. Researches laws, case precedents and legislative intent to recommend policy direction and guide others to compliance. Develops curriculum and conducts presentations and training orally and in writing for Public Safety staff.
Represents the Commission to licensees, applicants and their representatives; and to the public and to local and state government agencies or departments, by giving technical advice and policy interpretation explaining enforcement programs, policies, laws and procedures orally and in writing. Communicates with people of diverse cultural, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds in a way that is sensitive to diversity.
Conducts research and analysis and prepares letters for executive staff response to questions or concerns expressed by local governments, legislators, licensees, or the public. Prepares information for the AAG for legal advice. Forwards information and works with the Administrative Hearings Division per Agency policy and at the direction of their manager. Conducts in-depth evaluation of most complex compliance issues that could have broad compliance impact. Using discretion, develops solutions regarding level of sanctions and decisions for issues not clearly defined in policy. Identifies and interprets laws, rules or policies violated to decide course of action. Investigates public safety situations to decide compliance with program regulations.
Provides technical guidance to Public Safety staff. Reviews and approves work performed by compliance staff. Acts as liaison to Administrative Hearings Division on law or rule interpretation, implementation, and case precedent. Develops corrective action plans for licensees based on finding of audits or site visits.
Informs compliance staff of necessary improvements in conducting investigations, determining compliance actions, writing reports and provides additional guidance and explanation, and requests additional investigation and investigation revisions. Analyzes issues and options for policy on compliance matters. Confers with the Compliance Director on issues. Responds to questions on matters orally and in writing and participates in decision making processes with staff and management. Reviews and analyzes proposed orders on violation matters, highlights policy issues and reports them to the Compliance Director. Provides guidance to Public Safety management and executive staff on policy, procedure, exercise of discretion, investigative priorities, and application of law and presentation of written reports. Analyzes impact of law changes for executive staff, management and staff.
Works in the field with inspectors to conduct compliance activities and offer enforcement advice. Guides compliance staff as needed on high level, complex investigative matters. Works with regulated entities to solve programs and mediate disputes in issues of compliance. When necessary and within the direction of management, conducts inspections, may makes arrests and seizures, aids in prosecutions for offenses, issues citations for violations, Commission rules and any other statute the commission considers related to liquor laws.
Reviews program records for compliance to policy, rules, or other requirements. Recommends adjustments needed to achieve program effectiveness. Monitors Public Safety and compliance actions and decisions across field offices to ensure statewide consistency with Commission practice, and accurate application of policy, law and guidelines. Evaluates Public Safety practices to determine and ensure compliance with program direction. Consults with Administrative Hearings Division professional staff when appropriate.
Reports program issues to Public Safety management and executive staff. Uses knowledge of statewide practices, program goals and performance measures to develop compliance manual, policy and procedure revisions and analyze training needs. Develops statewide procedural changes to facilitate compliance and maintain statewide consistency in use of discretion.
Identifies need, develops concepts and drafts language for new compliance laws and revisions. Conducts research and prepares analysis and recommendations on proposed legislation and administrative rules.
Participates in staff committees to analyze and develop new Public Safety laws and revisions. Participates in meetings with external constituents to explore possible or pending law changes.
What do you need to qualify?
Five years’ experience doing administrative research that included compiling and evaluating facts to recommend management action, or decide compliance or eligibility with program guidelines and regulations. Three of the five years must be above the technical support level.
College-level course work may substitute for experience on the basis of 45-quarter units per year, up to a maximum of three years.

Position Description
This position is responsible for supervising and implementation of Food Safety, Work Safety, Compliance and Quality Assurance programs designed to meet State and Federal (cGMP) regulations for the cultivation, processing, and production of cannabis and cannabis-infused products.
The ideal candidate will have direct experience as a quality and/or compliance leader in the Cannabis industry, or a similar highly regulated industry such as food and beverage. A demonstrated track record implementing and maintaining a robust operational compliance program for Consumer-Packaged Goods ("CPG") facilities—including developing SOPs and leading internal audits—is preferred. A practical experience in cGMP, HACCP, ISO and SQF Management System Standards will be most desired. The candidates must be a PCQI or be willing to achieve certification in the shortest possible time.
This position will report to the Quality Assurance Manager/Director at MariMed Corporate for technical and systems activities.
This position will report to the Facility General Manager on operational and facility specific compliance related activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with relevant persons to Design, Develop, Implement and Maintain quality and safety management system to include SOPs, forms, and regulated documents for approval and implementation.
- Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures for food safety following state code, HACCP, Review, write and edit SOPs with a focus on achieving cGMP and other Management Systems (Food Safety, Work Safety) conformance and compliance 21 CFR 111 and 21 CFR 117, OSHA as well as state specific work safety as required.
- Monitor training and quality and safety performance at the facility.
- Report to facility leadership – KPIs, initiatives, issues, corrective action, and customer complaints.
- Provide guidance and lead problem solving and corrective actions involving food safety and quality issues at the facility.
- Interpret quality and safety philosophy to key personnel in the facility and potential business impact.
- Authority to accept/reject products, in-process components, raw materials, packaging, labels and more based on quality and safety.
- Train and lead in all work safety, food safety and product quality related activities.
- Manage Contracts in collaborations with other stakeholders and Supplier Evaluation Program specific to the facility.
- Manage food safety and quality audit programs (internal and external)
- Lead the configuration, implementation, and management of Document Management Software at the facility.
- Recommend and/or develop orientation and training programs for quality, safety, food safety, GMP training. Assist members of the facility team in training as appropriate
- Works closely with third party testing labs to improve success rate of potency and contaminant testing for product certificate of analyses.
- Serve as primary facility liaison to third party GMP consultants and certifying organizations. This includes participating in and leading meetings to keep team “on track” and ensure timelines are met.
- Communicate to all relevant personnel all information essential to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of GMP systems.
- Develop internal audit systems focused on quality and compliance. Ensure follow-up to identified issues.
- Serve as primary liaison with ITL (independent testing labs). Maintain, organize, and review test results to support ongoing quality assurance.
- Assist Cannabis Inventory Manager on facility audits and compilation and review of METRC and Leaflogix data related to the cultivation, production, and processing operations.
- Ensures that the facility meets the company’s, industries and regulatory standards for food safety and product integrity always.
- Oversees complaint investigations and ensures corrective action is being reported and followed up on
- Ensures that the unit is up to standards for audits, pest control, working with Facility Managers on Sanitation.
- Works closely with the vendor(s)/Supply Chain to ensure that approved chemicals are in use for processes and sanitation.
- Monitors training and development and provides coaching, direction, and leadership support to staff in the form of new hire orientation, retraining, annual refresher training.
- Perform specific tasks as may be assigned by Facility Quality Assurance Manager.
Education and Professional Requirements:
§ 2+ years of experience as a quality and safety assurance technician/manager in Dietary/Natural Products, Food or Pharmaceutical industry.
§ BS or BA degree in food science, food engineering, microbiology, chemistry, or other similar science related field.
§ HACCP & PCQI certified preferred
§ Computer Skills: MS Office applications, GMP software
§ Excellent oral and written skills; ability to tailor to audience.
§ Ability to interface with multiple groups – from front line operators to General Manager and customers.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
§ Ability to lift to 25 lbs. and push/pull up to 40 lbs.

JOB SUMMARY

The Quality and Compliance Technician works closely with Compliance Manager in managing all quality management (QA/QC) and compliance operations at IGF cultivation and production facility in Freeport, IL. Position Summary:
Carryout functions of the facility's Quality and Compliance department and assist management in ensuring employees understand and follow all standard operating procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under Manager supervision, assists with maintaining and updating Quality Management System.
- Assists other facility personnel in completing process and product testing to ensure quality standards are met and oversee determination of finished product disposition.
- Assist Manager in review and approval of any deviations to procedures and submit SOP revision request as necessary.
- Maintain sanitation and quality control practices that ensure the safety and quality of cannabis, including purity and consistency.
- Support Manager with review of findings and follow-up action of any investigation performed.
- Assist with assembling employees, or experts needed to conduct a cannabis product complaint investigation.
- Under Manager direction implement recall procedures that are supported by test results or other scientific documentation or expert opinion or as mandated by applicable regulations.
- Assist in implementing policies, procedures, and best practices to promote compliance.
- Assist in conducting or overseeing audits of the facility.
- Assist in investigation and resolution of compliance concerns, issues, or violations.
- Support Manager in collaborating with the PM and/or corporate compliance team to compile compliance concerns, issues or violations.
- Stay up to date with changes in rules and regulations.
- Assist Manager with promoting awareness and responsibility through training and regular communication throughout the facility.
Basic Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a QA/QC role in a production facility preferred.
- Prior compliance experience preferred, ideally in regulated industry, such as cannabis, alcohol, tobacco, or manufacturing.
- H.S. Diploma or equvalent required; Associate's degree preferred

The Role
GTI is seeking a Quality and Compliance Technician to join our cultivation facility. As a QC Technician, you will be responsible for executing operational quality and compliance related activities at the facility associated with sampling and inspection of incoming material, in process, and finished products, documentation control, quality event investigation, compliance, and audit. This position will also help ensure products are being produced in a manner that meets all specifications and brand consistency. You will also assist in identifying potential quality risks and working with operations personnel to develop improvement opportunities. Uses experience and knowledge to influence processes, standards, and plans to improve compliance with internal and external standards.
Responsibilities
- Establish and perform incoming, in-process, and finished product sampling and inspection.
- Reviews in-process batch documentation, logbooks, test results, and good documentation practices.
- Assist site documentation control system. Ensure harmonization of 1GTI quality system.
- Writes Quality Inspection SOPs and forms, including routing and/or approval of change request packages, as requested.
- Facilitate State regulatory and/or 3rd party site inspections.
- Monitor site's compliance to GTI corporate Quality System.
- Assist in performing weekly internal audit to monitor site's compliance activities to State regulations
- Segregation, control and disposition of non-conforming product.
- Identify, recommend and perform quality training as needed.
- Ensure maintenance and control of production quality records.
- Assist production personnel in the investigation of root causes and corrective action of internal rejects, corrective/preventive action, out of control SPC points, and customer complaints.

Qualifications
- Associates Degree required
- Prior experience in regulated industry in healthcare, medical devices, pharmaceutical, consumer packaged goods (food), or cannabis is highly desired.
- Highly desirable: FDA, GMP, SQF, and/or HACCP experience.
- Strong experience with product sampling and inspection.
- Ability to follow written procedures and monitor others for adherence to written procedures.
- Ability to create or update written procedures with site operations personnel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.

About Your Role:
BLAZE, a leading ERP provider for the cannabis industry, is seeking a qualified Compliance Development Technician to assist our compliance team to oversee compliance tasks in development.
Reporting to the Compliance Manager, the Compliance Development Technician will be an integral part of the BLAZE team. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional problem-solving skills, excel at prioritizing workloads, have solid attention to detail, with the ability to work well both as a team and independently.
Responsibilities will include the monitoring of compliance tasks development, authoring product spec documents to outline needed features to improve compliance, and preparing help-desk articles on compliance topics; requiring a detail-oriented individual with the ability to take initiative.
You will be responsible for:
- Tracking the development team’s progress on compliance tasks and helping communicate updates internally.
- Assisting with testing of new additions to the software, to assure our product is compliant and intuitive.
- Writing and updating instructional help-desk articles for clients to understand how to properly utilize BLAZE for optimal compliance.
- Monitoring industry news for regulatory developments as well as evolving best practices in compliance control.

- Assist compliance manager with ensuring all materials, and products are always compliant and accurately reported in METRC.
- Be familiar with and keep up to date with the medical marijuana program regulations.

The Cannabis Compliance Technician is responsible for ensuring local and state compliance, the seed-to-sale inventory tracking system, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, scheduling and executing internal audits, and reporting to management.
