We are looking for a scientist to join our cannabis testing laboratory located near Phoenix, AZ. The Lab Manager will be responsible for supervising and coordinating day to day activities. They ensure team engagement is associated with all aspects of the laboratory. The ideal candidate will be flexible, determined, driven, team and detail oriented.
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently manage all lab, administrative staff, and client relations
- Provides orientation, training and performance feedback for staff
- Set standards, policies and guidelines to meet certification standards
- Ensure resolution of errors before results are released to clients or quickly thereafter
- Ensure staff, equipment and records are always in compliance with SOPs

Ideal candidates for these positions have large-scale, commercial cannabis cultivation experience in one or more regulated states, with demonstrated experience with multiple methods of cultivation, knowledge and training in horticulture and agricultural production, and a deep understanding of operational aspects such as pest management and nutrients.
Responsibilities
- Perform all tasks in the growth cycle including transplanting, feeding, cloning, cropping, inventory management, etc.
- Hire, train and manage cultivation team
- Ensure the quantity, mix, and yield of strains planted will meet goals and specifications
- Set cultivation goals, performance metrics, and criteria
- Establish planting and harvesting schedules
- Ensure accurate management communication and reporting
- Ensure all cultivation-related SOPs are followed
Requirements
- Horticulture background with Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience in commercial cannabis production in regulated market
- Experience leading a commercial grow operation
- Deep knowledge of plants, diseases, insects and fungi, as well as plant treatment options
- Operations management mindset and approach to leading the cultivation center
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
