JOB DESCRIPTION
As a member of the management team, the Facilities Manager will be responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and maintenance of the facilities and capital assets of the Company. Duties include adhering to operating policies and procedures, and lead in planning, direction, and coordination of projects and maintenance related to all buildings, equipment, and High Life Farms, VB Chesaning, LLC hard assets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Continually inspects and assesses facility structure to determine needed repairs and renovations
· Plans and coordinates all repairs, installations, and refurbishments with site management to ensure adequate resources (financial and human) are attained to facilitate projects/improvements
· Maintains inventory of critical items for building operations (light bulbs, toilet paper, etc.) and refreshes inventory as required
· Supervises maintenance related contractors and vendors in the performance of outsourced tasks or functions
· Collaborates with the site management team to ensure facility compliance with state, federal, local, and industry specific legislation/regulations
· Assists management in identifying, planning, and budgeting for building repairs, improvements, and expansions
· Oversees utility costs/consumption and continually seeks opportunities to improve energy utilization and reduce costs without impacting projected yields
· Collaborates with the site management team to establish and execute an annual facilities budget
· Manages the prioritization and execution of work orders within the facility
· Develops and executes a preventative maintenance program for the facilities, vehicles and equipment
· Manages and maintains service and repair records for all managed assets (vehicles, generators, etc.)
· Operates a variety of tools/equipment including automobiles, power tools, hand tools, hvac systems, fans and filters, dehumidifiers, power edger's, power mowers, irrigation system, blowers, aerators, power sprayers, atomizer and backpack sprayer, and other related equipment
· Maintains greenhouse irrigation systems, hvac systems, and septic systems for both indoor and outdoor cultivation
· Performs skilled interior building maintenance such as painting, carpentry, welding, and hvac repairs
· Assists in gathering project information for facility expansion and improvement projects
· Monitors work in progress for compliance with company policies; and, ensures strict adherence to state and federal health and safety standards
· Reports upcoming services or routine maintenance jobs to management to ensure budgetary resources are obtained
· Necessary skills include mechanical expertise in the repair and preventative maintenance of equipment, including hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, electronics, plumbing, motors, pumps, automotive & small engines. This is a "hands on ...roll up your sleeves" position.
· Maintains facility vendor contracts, and service agreements to ensure all activities are compliant with agreed upon terms
· Provides regular reporting to Site Management on facility issues, actions, and plans
· Ensures all required and necessary training protocols are up to date

The Cannabis Complex Manager oversees all phases of the plant while working closely with supervisors for daily personnel needs and to meet high quality standards. This position is a key contributor in a company culture based on quality, continuous improvement, and camaraderie.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage all steps in the process including intake, drying, curing, and trimming
- Ensure the safe, accurate, and timely production of product packaging
- Ensure cleanliness, safety and efficiency of the production area
- Maintain quality control measures to ensure a high-quality product
- Understands the proper and safe handling of hazardous materials
- Develop SOPs to ensure safety, quality, and consistent processes
- Prepare inventory reports to ensure products are available and accurately accounted for
- Maintain packaging inventory to ensure a seamless production schedule
- Ensure accurate weighing and inventory; all products are packaged, counted, sorted, and labeled accurately
- Ensure the packaging and processing staff has daily tasks, schedules, and is being efficiently deployed
- Collaborate with the Cultivation Team to schedule harvest personnel and drying schedules
- Skill in managing physical resources (budgeting, inventories, equipment, materials)
- Develop processes for new products, strains, styles, and types of cannabis
- Make quality control decisions and adjustments as necessary
- Understand and maintain compliance with all CCC rules and regulations and testing requirements * Evaluate processes, improve efficiencies, and drive up hourly rates
- Self-motivation, innovation, and the ability to work well with all members of the company
Skills and Abilities:
- 2+ year of working in a commercial cannabis production environment (preferred but not required)
- Strong understanding of cannabis handling including drying, curing, and trimming. (preferred but not required)
- Minimum 4+ year of management experience with a crew of 15+ team members
- Strong people and supervisory skills including mentoring, coaching, performance, motivating and directing staff
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and maintain positive relationships with all levels of management
- Excellent time-management skills; ability to effectively plan and prioritize
- Demonstrate excellent organizational capabilities
- Attention to detail
- ·Knowledge of computer and programs (seed to sale, inventory systems; MS Office Suite programs)
- ·Must pass state mandated background check

ISLAND seeks a General Manager to join our growing manufacturing team in Oakland, CA. This role will include travel to our second facility in Santa Rosa ( >10%).
As the General Manager of Manufacturing, you will provide leadership and direction to our two plants in areas of responsibility including administration, compliance, production, processing, packaging, scheduling, sanitation, quality, purchasing, and safety.
You will report to and work hand-in-hand with the VP of Production as the liaison between the Plant and other departments including Sales, Distribution, HQ, and State and Federal Regulatory Personnel.
Responsibilities
- Manage and continue to improve the daily operation of the production, maintenance, scheduling, and shipping departments
- Ensure production and delivery of the highest quality products at the lowest costs, consistent with customer requirements, company plans, and profit objectives
- Create standard operating procedures (SOPs) when new products or processes are introduced in the manufacturing environment
- Establish plans, budgets, and KPI’s; allocate resources; review progress and make mid-course corrections
- Influence and interface with Island’s management team, supervisors, team leads, and hourly employees
- Communicate with senior management on production, metrics, and team performance
- Lead and manage direct reports, including the coaching and performance feedback for 4+ salaried managers and 60+ hourly employees
- Develop staff at both Plants and help them expand their capabilities to work independently and take on new challenges and tasks
- Partner with sales and marketing to develop and lead the business to ensure customer satisfaction, market share gains, and profitable growth
- Partner with the compliance team to complete internal and external regulatory audits while maintaining records
- Ensure the Plant complies with all company policies, procedures, ethical standards and all federal, state and local laws/regulations
Required Education & Experience
- Must have a High School Diploma with relevant work experience, BA/BS strongly preferred
- Minimum 7+ years of leadership experience in the manufacturing/production industry
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a regulated environment with exposure to cGMPs
Preferred Experience & Knowledge
- LEAN manufacturing experience and/or certification
- APICS Certified
- Experience working with high speed manufacturing and converting machinery
- Cannabis industry expertise a plus
Qualifications
- Strong communicator who has experience working cross-functionally with teams across a wide range of levels in multiple locations
- Ability to manage time and prioritize workflow, which will differ from day to day
- Technology expert with experience using multiple inventory management systems, Microsoft Office (with a focus on Excel), and G-Suite
- Experience and success in people management, with a focus on building a positive environment and a continuous improvement focused culture
- Exceptionally organized with a high level of integrity
- Quality focused with a deep understanding of QC, GMPs and efficient manufacturing practices
Physical Requirements
- Remain standing/walking for extended amounts of time daily
- Regularly lift 30 lbs, on occasion lift up to 50
- Walk up and down stairs multiple times a day
- Ability to work in an adverse environment with varying temperatures and conditions
