Island seeks a Brand Ambassador to educate and support our top East Bay and San Francisco accounts. You will play a vital role in representing our brand with enthusiasm and passion at local dispensaries, in-store events and promotions.
As an Island Brand Ambassador, you will create a unique and inviting customer experience to increase brand awareness and build customer loyalty, ultimately driving in-store sales.

Responsibilities
- Execute in-store demos and event activations at our top dispensary accounts in San Francisco and the East Bay, with light travel to Santa Cruz
- Understand and represent our product suite in order to educate and excite consumers and budtenders
- Coordinate with Island Territory Managers and Account Executives on scheduling, product levels, display areas, and demo guidelines
- Organize branded assets, equipment and product to ensure easy setup and takedown
- Be engaging, persuasive, upbeat and approachable -- you are an expert on the Island product suite, can gauge consumer needs and interests, and know how to upsell!
- Track consumer engagement, feedback and preferences
- Be the eyes and ears of Island from the field: report on observations regarding retail accounts as well as competitor activity
Qualifications
- Must be 21+ and possess a current valid CA Drivers License and reliable mode of transportation
- Must have a high school diploma
- Must reside in the Bay Area, with easy access to Alameda and San Francisco County
- Minimum one year of experience in sales, as a Brand Ambassador or other customer-facing role is ideal
- Experience professionally presenting and engaging with individuals and groups via in-store demos
- Available to work 20-38 hours/week with a mix of weekday and weekend shifts
- Strong on-site presentation skills with the ability to plan, attend and coordinate demos and special events
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills - you make a strong first impression!
- You can work autonomously and are self-motivated
- Cannabis product and industry expertise a plus!
Physical Requirements
- Remain standing/walking for extended amounts of time daily

Island seeks a part-time Compliance Assistant to join our team in Redondo Beach. The Compliance Assistant will be tasked with aiding the Director of Policy & Compliance with maintaining regulatory compliance with MAUCRSA in all commercial cannabis facilities and in all company initiatives. The Compliance Assistant works interdepartmentally to support the Director to assure understanding of and adherence to company policies and procedures.*Responsibilities
- Collaborates with the Director to have an expert level knowledge of MAUCRSA, Metrc, licensing, and regulatory requirements in order to act as a SME resource for all departments on a variety of subjects, including but not limited to, product development, facility build out, process changes, etc.
- Assists Director with conducting audits to ensure compliance with various regulatory bodies including, but not limited to the BCC, CDPH, City of Oakland, USDA, FDA, etc.
- Promotes operational and organizational compliance through proper implementations and the management of key relationships within the organization.
- Supports the Director with creating processes, problem solving, and executing projects with a focus on scalability.

- Organizes Director’s projects and calendars to keep projects on track. Schedules and drafts communications for compliance driven projects.
- Supports Operations and Production teams as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent experience required, Bachelor's degree preferred
- 1+ years experience in a highly regulated industry; or 1+ years in licensed cannabis facility; or 1+ years experience in government or legal environment
- Technical writing experience required
- Strong communication, collaboration, and research skills required
- Compliance, inventory management, and other record keeping systems experience is a strong plus
- Prior experience working with regulatory agencies and local municipalities is preferred but not required

ISLAND seeks a General Manager to join our growing manufacturing team in Oakland, CA. This role will include travel to our second facility in Santa Rosa ( >10%).
As the General Manager of Manufacturing, you will provide leadership and direction to our two plants in areas of responsibility including administration, compliance, production, processing, packaging, scheduling, sanitation, quality, purchasing, and safety.
You will report to and work hand-in-hand with the VP of Production as the liaison between the Plant and other departments including Sales, Distribution, HQ, and State and Federal Regulatory Personnel.
Responsibilities
- Manage and continue to improve the daily operation of the production, maintenance, scheduling, and shipping departments
- Ensure production and delivery of the highest quality products at the lowest costs, consistent with customer requirements, company plans, and profit objectives
- Create standard operating procedures (SOPs) when new products or processes are introduced in the manufacturing environment
- Establish plans, budgets, and KPI’s; allocate resources; review progress and make mid-course corrections
- Influence and interface with Island’s management team, supervisors, team leads, and hourly employees
- Communicate with senior management on production, metrics, and team performance
- Lead and manage direct reports, including the coaching and performance feedback for 4+ salaried managers and 60+ hourly employees
- Develop staff at both Plants and help them expand their capabilities to work independently and take on new challenges and tasks
- Partner with sales and marketing to develop and lead the business to ensure customer satisfaction, market share gains, and profitable growth
- Partner with the compliance team to complete internal and external regulatory audits while maintaining records
- Ensure the Plant complies with all company policies, procedures, ethical standards and all federal, state and local laws/regulations
Required Education & Experience
- Must have a High School Diploma with relevant work experience, BA/BS strongly preferred
- Minimum 7+ years of leadership experience in the manufacturing/production industry
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a regulated environment with exposure to cGMPs
Preferred Experience & Knowledge
- LEAN manufacturing experience and/or certification
- APICS Certified
- Experience working with high speed manufacturing and converting machinery
- Cannabis industry expertise a plus
Qualifications
- Strong communicator who has experience working cross-functionally with teams across a wide range of levels in multiple locations
- Ability to manage time and prioritize workflow, which will differ from day to day
- Technology expert with experience using multiple inventory management systems, Microsoft Office (with a focus on Excel), and G-Suite
- Experience and success in people management, with a focus on building a positive environment and a continuous improvement focused culture
- Exceptionally organized with a high level of integrity
- Quality focused with a deep understanding of QC, GMPs and efficient manufacturing practices
