Cannabis Manufacturing
Oversees all cannabis extraction and refinement operations. This includes, laboratory setup, standard operating procedure development, regulatory compliance, hiring, training and personnel management. Also responsible for ensuring all cannabis extracted products are produced safely, efficiently, and consistently. Some of the responsibilities are written below.
Responsibilities:
- Manage team using both ethanol extraction and Butane extraction, ethanol recovery, filtration, decarboxylation, distillation equipment, post processing of BHO products.
- Manage and optimize the timing of the batches and ensure all consumables are ordered in a timely fashion
- Create and update SOP'S for current and future processes
- Create maintenance schedule for all equipment as well as ensure all maintenance is logged and recorded
- Input data daily to track yields throughout the process
- Ensure all products are labeled and inputed into METRC
- Strict adherence to current SOP's
- Implementing, monitoring, and performing calibration of all lab equipment by establishing and ensuring consistent standards of use
- Responsible for the management, coaching, counseling of direct reporting personal, and conducting regular performance reviews
- Facilitating testing of variety of samples with external labs
- Delegating tasks to the extraction technicians and overseeing all on-going QC projects
- Reviewing and making decisions based on laboratory results
- Review and develop current and future extraction operations to improve efficiency and productivity
- Auditing production process and working with other departments to ensure procedures and reports are accurate and up to date
- Collecting, analyzing, and presenting data in official quality report
- Scheduling and tracking production equipment preventative maintenance and calibrations
- Review and approval of requested materials, equipment, and chemicals for production areas
- Upholding SOP procedures and documenting planned deviations or non-conformities when required
- Understanding up-to-date Cannabis Regulations and working with Director of QA/QC to address internal and external audits
- Assist with product recall or complaint investigations when necessary
Experience:
- College or University degree in a relevant scientific field preferred
- Minimum (2) years management experience in a QC/QA and/or laboratory role. Asset if experience in cGMP, HACCP, GAP regulated environment (pharmaceutical, food manufacturing, etc.).
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills required
- Excellent time management and organizational skills required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with experience training others
- Comfortable working in and capable of setting priorities in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with the following software: Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working with any of the following machines is a bonus : Delta Separations CUP 30, Luna BHO Machine, Delta Falling Film, Myers Pilot 15 Distillation.
- OSHA training is preferred to support a safe working environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000 - $120,000 per year Base Salary plus Bonus and other incentives
Relocation allowance is a possibility.
