Schedule: 2:00pm - 10:30pm
As a key member of the laboratory team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
- Preparation of samples for analysis
- Preparation of reagents for lab use and/or shipment
- Sample extractions
- Determining the volume of samples
- Cleaning of laboratory glassware
- Maintaining clean laboratory areas
- Maintaining organized records of sample preparation and analysis
- Courier supplies to and/or samples from client sites
- Overhead projects designed to improve efficiency of, or accuracy of analyses

The Extraction Technician will work under the direction of the Extraction Manager, Supervisor & Lead and is responsible for the facility's overall extraction equipment operation and maintenance, inventory, processing protocols, strategy, and day to day production.
Responsibilities Include:
- Selecting and preparing equipment for extraction and distillation
- Operating extraction and distillation equipment and handling extraction gases winterizing, refining, distilling, and/or formulating final product
- Cleaning and maintenance of lab and extraction equipment as required by procedures and manufacturer specifications
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures
- Develop and maintain product formulations and workflow procedures
- Maintain accountability of all raw materials, finished products, and by-products
- Maintain written and electronic records of product and inventory
- Maintain safety equipment and records
- Perform clerical work as it pertains to extraction lab activities
- Participate in packaging and production activities
- Reviewing all training procedures and continuing education on extraction and distillation methodology to ensure best of class performance on all job functions
- Understanding regulations/changes to regulations (local and state level)
- Demonstrates leadership by actions and acts as an example to others at all times
- Manages day to day issues as they arise, requesting assistance as needed
- Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in horticulture, botany, or related field, preferred
- Knowledge of basic computer and office equipment operations (inventory systems; Word; Excel; Office equipment such as copiers/telephone systems)
- Math required for inventory, projections, and measurements
Additional Qualifications:

JOB SUMMARY
Trulieve is looking for an Extraction Technician to support our extraction and production operations. You should be very technically astute in mechanical, electrical, and computer operated systems utilized in production/manufacturing environments. You need to be proactive, quick thinking and innovative in your approach.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preparation of equipment and plant materials for extraction.
- Execution of extraction and processing in accordance with state and local standards.
- Operation of sophisticated extraction equipment.
- Ensure consistency and efficiency of product through quality control testing and procedures.
- Cleaning and maintenance of extraction equipment and manufacturing facility.
- Maintaining strict inventory records of all plant materials, chemicals, and equipment used in the facility.

The Lab Extraction Technician is responsible for conducting the extraction process in a safe and accurate manner. The expectations for this role include multitasking, team building, assisting the lab team, measuring ingredients, refining oil and completing all lab functions.

DUTIES:
- Responsible for the grinding, decarb, and extraction of cannabis biomass via CO2/hydrocarbon extraction
- Responsible for performing refinement processes such as winterization, filtration, and distillation.
- Sets up, operates, and maintains extraction, refinement and other manufacturing equipment

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Experience with hydrocarbon extraction, CO2 extraction, and distillation techniques preferred
- Demonstrated ability to achieve manufacturing objectives in terms of volume, product mix, cost, and quality
- Previous commercial cannabis extraction experience preferred.

Assisting extraction team with preparation of materials for the day’s extractions as well as helping to tear down, turn around, and set back up extraction equipment as needed.
Responsible for accurate data entry and inventory.
Assisting in the formulation of final products before they are sent to the filling line as needed.

- Responsible for cannabis extracting, cannabis refinement, and overall upkeep of the lab including daily cleaning
- Work with both manufacturing and packaging equipment
- Reviews all daily laboratory paperwork and corrects errors found in a timely manner
- Responsible for physical cannabis products and data inventory
- Keeping open and fluid communication with the management and maintenance teams in case there are machine issues
- Responsible for trouble shooting equipment issues
- Assist in recommendations for scalable procedures as company grows
- Participate in the recruitment process for other team prospective team members
- Trains and supervises all lab staff and evaluates staff performance, as directed by the Lab Supervisor
- Evaluate laboratory documentation and suggests improvements as need
- Work assisting the pre-rolls teams / packaging teams / extraction & distillations teams / refinement / etc. when you have down time
JOB SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Preferred 1-2 years' experience working in manufacturing and/or the cannabis industry.
- Familiarity with quality control, policy and procedure and documentation.
- The person in this position frequently communicates with other employees and various levels of management. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Ability to multitask and be aware of multiple active processes.
- Ability to work as part of a team with cohesive aspects.
- Florida Resident – residence within the current geography or willingness to relocate to the current geography is required.
- Must be 21 years of age.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Constantly operates a computer and manufacturing equipment
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks for long periods of time (lifting, pouring, typing)
- Must be able to lift to 50lbs
- Hand and eye coordination
