Job Summary
The Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory in their dispensary. They drive sales through maintaining an up-to-date and stocked online and in-store menu. They ensure all AYR policies and regulatory requirements are adhered to. The Inventory Specialist reports to the Retail Inventory Manager and the Dispensary Store Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
Sales
- Ensure all online menus are up to date and all current inventory is available for patients to shop from. All product information is complete and accurate online and on in-store menus.
- Identify and communicate areas to improve stock levels to ensure product availability is maintained
- Process deliveries in a timely manner getting product to the floor as quickly as possible upon delivery arrival
Delivery Intake
- Receive deliveries and ensure product is received accurately in inventory tracking system
- Process all third-party deliveries upon arrival at the dispensary. Verify count is accurate and reject any packages/deliveries with discrepancies
- Create new items in inventory tracking system for third-party items
- Process all AYR deliveries upon arrival at the dispensary
- Assign flower to the correct price tier in inventory tracking system, repackage and create new items in inventory tracking system
- Communicate any discrepancies to AYR production
- Coordinate all returning manifests and required paperwork to AYR production and third-party vendors
Inventory Management & Compliance
- Support the Dispensary Manager to ensure the dispensary has the proper inventory controls in place.
- Perform weekly audits of all inventory rooms and reconcile with MJ to ensure a 100% accurate inventory
- Organize and lead financial audit counts when requested
- Assist in performing nightly inventory counts
- Ensure all returns to the cultivator are processed weekly and the return log is complete and up to date
- Ensure their dispensary has the following binder system on site and all counts and documentation are complete and compliant with state regulations
- Daily Sales Floor Counts
- Weekly Vault, display, and blue bin Audits
- Outgoing and incoming manifests
- Understand and follow all inventory regulations put forth by the state to maintain a 100% accurate inventory for all medicated product and less than 2% shrink for non-medicated product.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and resolve in a timely manner
Training
- Participate in staff meetings to continue to train and develop dispensary staff on regulations, AYR policy, and processes pertaining to inventory control
- Will be required to work on special projects as directed by the Regional Dispensary Manager and Retail Inventory Manager
- Work with Dispensary Manager to train staff on new inventory processes and procedures as the business needs change
Qualifications
- Must meet minimum age requirements as determined by local, state, and federal requirements
- Must complete background check as required by local, state, and federal requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
Education
- High school diploma/GED required
Experience
- 1-3 years cannabis inventory experience
- Experience working in a warehouse/supply chain environment
- Experience in marijuana growing, cultivating, and trimming preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to work within a closely supervised environment
- Works in a timely manner and strives to increase productivity
- Knowledge and familiarity with Cannabis

- The person in this position must be able to observe and assess delivery operations via cameras and monitor delivery activity.
- Frequently communicates with other staff via Walkie Talkie or Headset.
- Constantly positions self throughout day when conducting inventory counts, receiving deliveries, or examining merchandise by maintaining the computer and completing reports.
- Constantly moves and transports dispensary products/totes up to 50 lbs. throughout the dispensary.

Position Summary:
Responsible for day to day inventory management at the retail storefront. Ensure inventory counts and shipments are accurate. Assist Inventory Manager in verification and receiving product shipments. Assist Inventory Manager in organization of products within storage and on sales floor. Ensure products are received within California Track and Trace system (METRC) and POS system, and have appropriate labels before being transferred to sales floor.
**PLEASE NOTE: This is a full-time, Monday-Friday position that requires open availability in order to be considered for this role. It may require an occasional overnight shift between the hours of 9pm-5am**
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for barcoding all new inventory in Point of Sale system
- Auditing the physical inventory to ensure that the physical inventory aligns precisely with the virtual inventory numbers
- Help with daily/weekly cycle counts and inventory evaluation and verification procedures
- Provide timely notice to Inventory Manager if discrepancies are found, so that they may be fully investigated
- Research inventory variances and adjustments
- Work with Inventory Manager/Lead to maintain an accurate account of non-stock and unavailable inventory
- Implementation of cannabis waste procedures and schedule
- Create a calendar of all upcoming expired products
- Maintain a list of all quarantined product
Qualifications:
- Inventory experience in a retail environment
- Strong math skills
- Proficiency using Microsoft Excel and Word
- METRC or similar cannabis seed-to-sale tracking software experience (preferred)
