Job Summary
The Metrc / Inventory Tech will work with all managers in the Inventory / Compliance departments to ensure that tagging, logging, and tracking of plants, plant tissue, seed stock and harvested cannabis are done in accordance with standards and regulations governing the legal California cannabis industry. This includes general organization, safety, and cleanliness. The Metrc / Inventory Tech will work with the Inventory/Compliance department to assist all plant tagging and inventory cycle counts.

METRC & Inventory Technician
METRC & Inventory Technician Duties and Responsibilities
As the METRC Technician, you will be responsible for all intake, shipping, packaging, and inventory of cannabis products as it relates to the METRC platform and it’s integrations. Responsibilities for this job include but are not limited to:
- Performing physical receipt and delivery of cannabis products and properly entering data into METRC
- Performing intake of cannabis products into the inventory management software
- Assisting the Compliance Officer with inventory and plant audits and reconciliations every 14 days
- Perform quality control checks on final products before delivery
- Drafting weekly audit, inventory, and delivery/sales reports for Compliance Officer
- Scheduling Secure Transport for deliveries and create METRC Transport Manifest
- Scheduling Safety Compliance Testing for Full Panel tests
- Assisting the Compliance Officer with full panel compliance testing
- Assisting the Compliance Officer with Harvest Day tasks
- Disseminating test results to stakeholders
- Create trade samples and sample transport manifests for the Sales team.
- Ensuring deliveries are fulfilled and delivered on time, and purchase orders match invoices and transfer manifests
- Troubleshooting inventory issues that may come up in the course of operating the platform
- Maintaining METRC and inventory management supplies
- Maintaining the cannabis vault organized and clean
- Assigning new METRC tags to plant and product packages
- Dealing with returns, product quarantines, and write-offs
- Researching and learning the METRC platform to become more efficient and knowledgeable with the ultimate goal of being able to train others
- Maintaining high-level familiarity with METRC and MMFLA/MRTMA rules and regulations relating to packaging and inventory controls
- Willing to be responsive outside of normal work hours in the case of an emergency (within reason)
- Additional Ad Hoc requests from management
- Ability to work with other teams
- Proficient with technology, Project Management Software, and computers
- Experience with MS Office
- Experience in label-making software and printers is a plus
- Experience working in a logistics-based operation such as retail delivery or distribution/warehousing

Job Description
Our team is seeking a METRC Technician plays an important role, supporting the operations team, by executing daily systematic data entry, tagging, and peripheral tasks. Job Summary:
The Inventory/METRC Technician is responsible for tracking inventory in the METRC Track & Trace database and the Canix system. This employee follows the regulations and operating procedures for data entry into the existing systems and does daily upkeep for these systems. This role will provide compliance support within manufacturing and distribution. - Regularly attending Metrc classes as available and maintaining certifications

What You'll Be Doing
As the METRC Technician III you will responsible for entering accurate track and trace records. You will follow detailed SOPs to ensure the accuracy of the cannabis inventory. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment focused on production and process. You understand and can work with inventory tracking software, ERP systems, METRC tracking software, and 3rd party integration with track and trace software.
As the METRC Technician III, You Will
- Lead department duties as they relate to the METRC track and trace compliance, including data entry, records maintenance, and basic reporting
- Assist in weighing and cycle counting inventory
- Assist in identifying and solving physical or electronic inventory discrepancies
- Support management in additional duties as requested
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Meet all department KPI's
- Uphold all company SOPs
- Take part in overall facility cleanliness
Your Desired Experience and Skills Include
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 1-2 years’ experience in medical cannabis industry or other healthcare organizations
- Ability to perform inventory control and audits
- Ability to adapt to frequently changing state and local regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and effective communication skills
- Able to work well independently and on a team
- Must be able to work with ERP systems and their integration with METRC

Job Summary
As a METRC Technician for Kiva Sales and Service (KSS), you will help to ensure compliance with state track and trace requirements. Duties will include inputting data into METRC, auditing inventory, and following department SOPs and state guidelines regarding the cannabis inventory. KSS is a fast-paced environment where accuracy must be maintained. You will be working with METRC, ERP, and inventory tracking software and third-party integrations, which all work in conjunction with each other. You will learn a diverse skill set and be on the leading edge of legal cannabis while working in a rewarding environment that carries some of the largest cannabis brands in California.
As a Kiva METRC Technician, you will...
- Input data records into the state track and trace system (METRC), accurately and promptly.
- Creating transfer manifests within METRC by transcribing information generated by the inventory system into METRC.
- Assist with inventory counts, package adjustments, and records maintenance.
- Assist in identifying and solving physical or electronic inventory discrepancies.
- Support the METRC manager in other tasks as needed.
- Aid in maintaining the cleanliness of facilities.
What we're looking for...
- Minimum of 1 year of data entry or inventory experience is required.
- High school degree or equivalent is required
- Knowledge of touch typing system is strongly preferred
- Must be able to type a minimum of 40wpm
- Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel, Google Suite, etc.).
- Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices.
- Ability to adapt to frequently changing state and local regulations as directed.
- Knowledge of cannabis and the cannabis industry is stongly preferred.
- Must be able to work with ERP systems and their integration with METRC.
- Ability to assist in performing inventory control and audits.
- Good command of English both oral and written.
- Great attention to detail.
- Ability to work well independently and on a team.
- Dependable, honest, detail-oriented, and effective communicator.
Work Environment

This position is in a busy office and warehouse subject to frequent interruptions and loud noises.
- Business work hours vary but are usually Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM- 8:00 PM.
- Some extended and weekend hours may be required.
