ABOUT THE ROLE
- The Talent Acquisition Specialist is the primary HR Team member responsible for recruiting a diverse team of top performers in the cannabis industry. As the company’s first impression to new talent, the Talent Acquisition Specialist is a creative and effective leader, who is passionate about recruiting in a high-volume and fast-paced environment. This role is responsible for full life-cycle recruitment efforts including communication with hiring managers and local HR teams, job posting preparation, candidate scheduling, offer letter creation and relationship management. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal communication, time management and attention to detail skills. In addition to full life-cycle recruitment efforts, this role is also responsible for influencing the company’s overall recruitment strategies with new, fresh ideas and initiatives to ensure we are effective in finding top talent in the cannabis industry. This role will be based in either Georgetown MA or Holliston MA with a primary focus on recruitment efforts for our MA, IL and corporate markets.
YOUR DAY TO DAY
- Manage recruitment campaigns for our MA, IL and corporate markets.
- Source, attract and identify top, qualified candidates for both non-exempt and exempt roles within the organization.
- Work closely with hiring managers to ensure an understanding of the specific hiring needs of each department.
- Review resumes and conduct phone and video interviews to qualify applicants.
- Prepare applicants for interviews, communicate logistical information, interview schedule, appropriate attire, and expectations.
- Extend offers to qualified applicants.
- Manage and maintain hiring/recruitment data and metrics.
- Work closely with local HR teams on new hire paperwork, background checks and scheduling.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
- At least 2 years of full-cycle recruitment experience, preferably in a multi-location company. Previous cannabis recruitment experience highly desired.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources/related field or comparable recruitment experience.
- SHRM-CP or PHR (preferred).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong understanding of social media sourcing techniques including Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram to identify and engage top talent.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Own and drive the end-to-end recruiting process for assigned roles
- Conduct intake calls; work with HRBPs and hiring managers to develop candidate success profiles
- Maintain a high-quality pipeline of potential candidates
- Screen candidates for basic qualifications and fit to role
- Identify highest potential candidates and prepare hiring managers to conduct "final" interviews

Required

About the Role

Summary
The Talent Acquisition Specialist – Field is responsible for supporting and implementing the recruitment and on-boarding processes for TGS Global and its affiliates. The Talent Acquisition Specialist – Field works with the Talent Acquisition Partner to communicate with department managers and assess departmental needs and meet those needs through established recruiting strategies, coordinating interviews in a timely manner, and determining each applicant’s qualifications for the applied position. The Talent Acquisition Specialist is also responsible for conducting new hire orientation and informing new employees of organizational structure and company culture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of recruiting strategies
- Meet with department leaders to discuss staffing needs
- Manage high volume applicant flow through internal ATS for retail, cultivation, manufacturing, and other areas as assigned
- Source new applicants daily for each requisition by utilizing external job postings, ATS, and external/internal references
- Respond to new applicants and coordinate interviews in a timely manner through the ATS
- Identify useful external sourcing channels through ATS analytics
- Ensure accuracy in relation to requisition title/content, compensation, location, and expiration date
- Manage ATS communication and correspondence tools for new applicants, schedule interviews, and share candidate profiles with Hiring Managers; follow notification procedure of closed requisitions and rejections
- Sort applicants by qualifications, availability, and responses to pre-screening questions
- Determine applicant qualifications by assessing profiles, interviewing applicants, analyzing responses, and comparing qualifications to job requirements
- Build pre-screening questions specific to each requisition to help identify candidates
- Compare candidate competencies and hard skills to the requirements of the position
- Arrange interviews as needed by coordinating schedules - use the MS Outlook calendar scheduling tool to coordinate preliminary and follow up interviews
- Send interview reminder emails to candidates and provide all necessary information to ensure that the applicant is well prepared and on time
- Maintain files and reports; archive as needed to meet compliance and retention requirements
- Conduct new hire orientation, inform employees on organizational structure and company culture
- Communicate NHO reminder email correspondence through MS Outlook to new hires, ensuring they have all of the necessary documentation and arrive prepared
- All other tasks and job duties as assigned
QualificationsEducation
- High School Diploma or GED required
- College Degree in Human resources or equivalent field preferred
Training
- Must maintain current knowledge of and adhere to all policy and regulations of the Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED); Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and TGS Management
Required Skills & Experience
- Prior experience in recruiting/staffing in a retail and/or manufacturing environment
- Prior experience working with ATS
- Excellent computer, communication, and reasoning skills
- Familiarity with human resources employment practices preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- High-level attention to detail
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Familiarity with human resources, common employment best practices, and/or labor laws preferred
- 2+ year experience in Human Resources
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with a shifting workload in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of Colorado marijuana laws, MED regulations, and CDPHE requirements; Previous marijuana industry experience preferred with priority given to candidates with experience in CO licensed facilities
- Cannabis industry experience preferred

Position Overview
The Talent Acquisition Specialist oversees Curio’s full cycle recruiting. Talent Acquisition Specialist responsibilities include sourcing candidates through various channels, planning interview and selection procedures and hosting or participating in career events. To be successful in this role, you should be able to develop long-term recruiting strategies and nurture trusting relationships with potential hires. The Talent Acquisition Specialist creates strong talent pipelines for our company’s current and future hiring needs.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the recruitment process to include, posting and updating job postings, creating and updating recruiting guides, compiling all interview and orientation materials, scheduling all interviews and sending appropriate communications and surveys, sourcing and identifying relevant job fairs, attending job fairs, coordinating all background checks and drug screens, following the MMCC regulatory guidelines for on-boarding, completing the new hire checklist in its entirety, screen new hire inquiries and questions
- Coordinate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs
- Determine selection criteria
- Source potential candidates through online channels (e.g. social platforms and professional networks)
- Plan interview and selection procedures, including screening calls, assessments and in-person interviews
- Serve as the point of contact and subject matter expert for the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to include:
- Updating and maintaining the ATS
- Providing training on the ATS
- Reviewing & recommending new ATS systems
- E-Verify & I-9
- Preparing and maintaining various new hire reports and periodic reports for the management team

- Prepare and lead the weekly recruitment huddle meeting
- Remain up to date on recruitment techniques and industry best practices to create innovative ways to promote Curio Wellness as a premiere employer
- Create a system of visibility for hires, candidates in the pipeline, scheduled interviews, NHO calendars and badging processes
- Provide administrative support, including but not limited to, taking minutes, meetings, scanning, filing, data entry, creating presentations, scheduling meetings, sending emails on behalf of Human Resources
- Design job postings and interview questions that reflect each position’s requirements
- Lead employer branding initiatives
- Organize and attend job fairs and recruitment events
- Forecast quarterly and annual hiring needs by department and create hiring plans to meet hiring goals
- Foster long-term relationships with past applicants and potential candidates
- Coordinate 60/90 day check-in meetings for leaders and their new hires
- Have ownership of the temporary employee conversion processes
- Order business cards for new leaders(managers, specialty roles)
- Create NHO packets and replenish supplies as necessary
- All other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications and Skills
Required:
- Proven work experience as a Talent Acquisition Specialist/Recruiter or similar role
- Familiarity with social media, resume databases and professional networks
- Hands-on experience with full-cycle recruiting using various screening and interviewing techniques and evaluation methods
- Knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATSs)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A keen understanding of the differences between various roles within organizations
- BS in Human Resources Management or relevant field

Qualifications

- 5-7 years' experience as a full-cycle Recruiter/Talent Acquisition Specialist
- Experience with recruiting/talent acquisition in manufacturing or directly relatable industries
- Experience executing TA strategies and fulfilling requisitions, both high volume requisitions and Senior - Executive level requisitions
- A passion for dynamic and authentic talent acquisition, with a belief and understanding of how talent acquisition directly impacts a company's success
- Experience in a fast-paced and ever evolving environment where flexibility is essential
- A personal belief in accountability, collaboration, equity, & inclusion
