Job Title: Maintenance & Facilities Technician
Reports to: Manager of Corporate Security / Loss Prevention / Facilities / Fleet Management
Salary Range: $22-26 per hour
Location: Denver, CO (may require site visits to Colorado retail, cultivation, and MFG facilities).
Position Objective:
The Maintenance Technician oversees, coordinates, and maintains facilities for all Schwazze retail and cultivation sites. The Maintenance Tech will be expected to perform repairs and periodic services to equipment and facilities throughout the Colorado network. This role will be expected to work with a continuous improvement mindset while identifying and maintaining our standards of retail appearance, with a commitment to our customers and internal partner’s safety and security.
The Maintenance Technician supports designated leadership with the daily operations of all retail and cultivation locations. This includes all maintenance and repair, basic carpentry and metal work, operating, maintaining and repairing all facility system equipment associated with HVAC operations and mechanical and electrical systems. The technician will also respond to customer requests and submit and close work orders as necessary and perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:

Perform basic tasks including painting and filling crevices, clean facilities and managing maintenance repairs.•
Perform repairs on company machinery, equipment, or appliances.•
Detect and report the need for major maintenance repairs.•
Regularly check community spaces to identify issues with litter, mechanical failure, or breakdowns.•

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for a variety of duties related to Maintenance Operations. This position must utilize knowledge of mechanical, greenhouse and building maintenance to provide minimal down time of operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Conduct regular inspections of the facility buildings to detect and notify Supervisor or Lead and assist with resolving problems.
· Repair activities and assign repair tasks to maintenance staff.
· Assist maintenance team with obtaining and caring for all tools and supplies.
· Assist with coordination of timely inspections from outside vendors for, preventative maintenance or repair of electrical equipment and mechanical systems not serviced internally.
· Implement maintenance Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and review annually.
· Assist with evaluation of repair cost estimates and present options to management.
· Maintain stocking equipment, filters, general use stock items and order before needed.
· Assist other departments as necessary throughout the facility.

In this position you will establish & maintain a positive relationship with customers, vendors and co-workers through effective oral and written communication skills via phone, computer, and face to face. You will perform scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance, inspections, site surveys, and service requests including replacement, and modifications of equipment or systems as needed or requested by the grow house team. Communicating with team members/Management, Facilities Maintenance and/or Project Managers regarding inspection/service findings is required.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Replace stained or damaged ceilings, flooring, cove base, wall protection, ceramic tiles, etc.
- Adjust, fix or replace all hardware on doors, cabinets, furniture, bathroom partitions, windows, etc
- Change light bulbs, fixtures, ballasts, switches, receptacles, and reset circuit breakers.
- Replace faucet washers and change toilet seats.
- Patch and paint walls.
- Repair roofing, blacktop, cement, masonry and block.
- Remove or relocate snow, de-ice grounds.
Tour buildings and grounds.
- Document all facility deficiencies through daily travels.
- Complete assigned Preventative Maintenance slips.
- Repair or report deficiencies.
Complete daily Work Orders.
- Respond to Emergency Work Orders including clearing clogged toilets, sinks, drains, water leaks, loss of power, unsafe facility conditions, etc.
- Complete urgent and routine work orders including uncrating, moving, assembling, and installing free standing and wall hung equipment, etc.
- Forward work orders that are to be completed by specific trades.
Required Education and Experience
Required Education: High School/GED. Certificate of completion of a vocational school in building maintenance or a certificate from a certified school, in building maintenance.
Required Experience: Three to five years' working experience in building maintenance.
Additional Technical Requirements
- Experience in working within a building maintenance environment including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting skills.
- Ability to read prints, sketches, wiring diagrams, ladder diagrams, schematic drawings.
- Experience in the use of all industrial hand and power tools.
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and customer oriented.
- Must possess good lateral and vertical communication skills (verbal and written).

As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for HVAC equipment onsite, Electrical, Lighting and Plumbing, utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, control systems, pipe fitting, wiring diagrams and structural layouts. Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot buildings Electrical Distribution, HVAC, and Lighting Systems.
- Follow planned maintenance procedures and schedules to ensure maximum efficiency and life span of both production equipment and building systems.
- Respond to line calls and maintenance tickets according to their assigned priority.
- Maintain building systems and structures to include HVAC, Plumbing, Lighting, and Miscellaneous items
- Work with fellow members of the maintenance team to formulate solutions to problems that may arise with building and production equipment.
- Assist with the inventory of parts and materials, ensuring accurate documentation showing usage of parts and materials.
- Document the completion of all maintenance items per the Planned Maintenance Procedure in place
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Solid understanding of basic electrical and mechanical theory and troubleshooting
- High level knowledge of electrical circuits and drawings
- Experience in troubleshooting control/low voltage systems
- Proficient in the use of electrical test equipment includes but not limited to: Multi-meters, Amp Meters, and Meggers
- Skilled in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Well versed in maintenance safety protocols including PPE and LOTO
- Ability to identify unsafe situations and work with team leads onsite to mitigate risks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Great computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office and Outlook
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of Trade School, Apprenticeship, or relevant Experience strongly preferred.
- Valid Driver's License or ability to obtain one.
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
- Must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening.

The Facilities Maintenance Technician will have installation, repair and service experience in a Commercial Setting. The Facilities Maintenance Technician will also assist in individual/group projects and will be responsible for preventative and general maintenance on a scheduled basis.

Zen Asset Management is the people behind the Artizen brand of cannabis, one of Washington’s largest producers. We are seeking a Facilities and Maintenance Tech to our small, and very efficient, Tumwater facility.
This position deals with routine maintenance, surprise fixes, oversees grow room cleaning and maintenance. You will also fill in at our Lacey facility time to time. If you like to dig into problems, like to get instructions, and work independently (most of the time), and yet have a fairly predictable set of duties – this could be right up your alley.
Please note: it’s a very physical job, there are times you will be moving throughout the facility, non-stop, daily; other times you will work up high, in one spot, with your hands over your head for hours at a time. People with military maintenance type backgrounds can really rock this role.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years in the following experience:
- Ability to trouble shoot and perform minor maintenance on HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
- Perform daily walk throughs and keep preventative maintenance procedures and protocols up to date
- Handle emergency requests and know when to call for help
- Know the ins and outs (and get certified) on forklifts and scissor lifts
- Keep things well organized and ensure safety protocols for all onsite equipment (hoses stored, chemicals marked, etc.)
- Responsible for deep cleans and daily cleanliness of the site (don’t worry the staff does quite a bit too, but you are generally the one on the scissor lift doing the up high dusting and scrubbing, and other types of janitorial duties)
- Handle receiving of goods as needed
- Stay incredibly organized and have predictable documentation procedures in place and follow Standard Operations Procedures as necessary
- Other relevant maintenance duties
This is a 40 hour a week job, with a rough schedule of 7:30 to 4:15, there are times you will be on call. Overtime happens but is really limited. Remember, this is a cannabis farm, and the entire environment smells strongly of weed, you’ll get used to it, but it’s more than noticeable for the first few days. It’s also a very humid environment, so be aware of that.
This position reports to the Director of Facilities & Maintenance, with a very strong dotted line reporting to the onsite Garden Manager.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment
- Maintaining the condition of all mechanical systems including but not limited too; motors, scales, conveyors, HVAC equipment, compactors, pumps & valves, doors, lighting, vehicles, pneumatic equipment and fluid related.

As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for HVAC equipment onsite, Electrical, Lighting and Plumbing, utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, control systems, pipe fitting, wiring diagrams and structural layouts. - Coordinates with Facilities Maintenance Manager and grow house to precisely understand requirements for all on-site installation and repairs by extensively examining building layouts, forecasting issues, gathering materials and synchronizing on-site work.
- Use of software and technology, along with a variety of hand-tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units.
- Continually enforces safety to the highest standards and maintains security and accountability of company issued and procured assets by recording use, wear and conditions.
- Displays team effort and dedication to customer by maintaining flexibility to work overtime and weeks as the business requires, including occasional overnight stays.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of experience in Commercial or Residential HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing; or completion of a Technical school program with a certificate is strongly preferred.
- 2 years testing and troubleshooting experience of machinery.
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with hand held computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad).

Terrapin is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our growing company. As a Boulder, Colo.-based national cannabis company, Terrapin is a pioneer in the emerging industry. Terrapin is a cultivator, processor and provider of high-quality medical and recreational cannabis products. Over 10 years of operations, Terrapin has grown into a multi-state company with nearly 400 employees. As we have expanded nationally, our need for a Maintenance Technician has grown significantly.
The ideal candidate for the Maintenance Technician position will possess a wide ranging, yet specific set of skills and experience. They will be responsible for their own transportation to and from various locations in the greater Denver area, with a clean driving record and their own reliable vehicle. They will be able to arrive at work consistently on time and manage their own time during the course of their work day. They will be comfortable working in public spaces, around other employees and customers, and maintaining a professional and as unobtrusive as possible presence during all service. They will need to be able and willing to communicate, respond quickly to new directions, and be conscientious in record keeping during the course of rendering service at various Terrapin locations. Additionally, experience with metal and wood fabrication is strongly preferred.

Full Job Description
Facilities Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:
- Ensure and improve optimization and functionality of key systems
- Operate key systems including handling consumable use and distribution such as nutrients, acids for PH, etc.
- Allocate workload and supervise assigned staff
- Manage relationships with contractors and service providers
- Monitor equipment inventory and communicate orders when necessary
- Monitor generator and hydraulic systems of facilities to ensure functionality
- Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities
- Maintain maintenance logs and report on daily activities
- Ensure that designated buildings, plant and facilities are fit for purpose and to provide proactive support/solutions when required
- Ensure health and safety policies
Employee Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Experience and interest in cannabis cultivation is required
- Possesses Do-it-Yourself skills to troubleshoot and implement sustainable long-term solutions
- Must work well with others and have the ability to adapt quickly to changes in policy, procedure, methods and techniques.
- Highly motivated and demonstrates good initiative and vision
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Attention to detail
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
- Reliable form of transportation to site
- Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems
- Ability to keep track of and report on activity
- Experience in planning maintenance operations
- Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
