About the Job
The Fertigation Technician works under the supervision of the General Manager (GM) to determine the precise mixing and delivery of nutrients to the cannabis crops throughout the facility. Responsible for monitoring the performance of the fertigation system to ensure that it is working according to specifications from the vendor and escalate issues to the fertigation program manager and the GM in real time to avoid major issues in regard to delivery of nutrients and/or the system itself. This position requires the use of automated computer systems, meters for analytical analysis and controlled environment technology.
What You Will Do
- Accurate mixing and delivery of nutrients to all plants.
- Monitors and assures the plant production schedule is current for proper recipe delivery.
- Coordinates efforts to assure the fertigation system equipment is maintained and running properly.
- Perform regular testing of water quality, media analysis and plant tissue analysis as well as recording and documenting the results.
- Ensure the plants are in optimal health and report any problems seen on daily walks.
- Keep stock of inventory and order materials and equipment as needed.
- Maintains a high degree of accountability and responsibility.
- Promptly escalates any issues that arise and helps perform root cause analysis.
- Responsible for implementing corrections and corrective actions.
- Actively looks and make suggestions for improvements.
- Capable and able to perform all duties of the Cultivation Technician.

What We Are Looking For

Working Environment
This job operates in a professional, clean environment. This role routinely uses standard agriculture equipment such as pruning scissors, shears, spray bottles, measuring cups, beakers, and sanitization equipment. Employees will be required to gown into uniforms before entering the facility. Temperatures and conditions will be similar to most greenhouses: around 80 degrees F and 55% humidity. Employees will be exposed to fresh cannabis plants, and cannabis plant material. They will also be subject to loud noise from fans, pumps, and motors.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to stand, sit, walk and stay active for long periods of time. Must be able to stay focused on single tasks at a time. Must be able to perform at a rate cohesive with employee standards. Employees must be able to see, hear, and communicate basic operational and safety instructions. Employees may be required to wear tyvec suits and safety goggles during pesticide application. The Fertigation Technician works in conjunction with the Fertigation Supervisor to oversee and implement all irrigation and fertigation activities across the entire grow. Fertigation Technician may also be required to work in the garden with Cultivation Technicians and perform similar duties, as needed
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Check and balance EC & pH of stock tanks according to company standard operations procedures (SOPs)
- Clean and sanitize nutrient tanks, pumps, filters as needed
- Maintain and ensure Irrigation and Fertigation equipment is in good working order
- Comply with company and product label safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Take nutrient samples to be sent out for analysis
- Maintain and ensure proper storage and sanitation of all tools and equipment, including but not limited to shop vacs, pumps, hoses, carts, scissors, stools, totes, gloves, rags, and PPE gear
- Meticulous record keeping of all nutrient use
- Work closely with the grow team to ensure the irrigation/fertigation plan is properly implemented and maintained
- Maintain inventory of all fertilizers on site
- Ensure fertilizer concentrate tanks are filled adequately
- Respond to system alarms and diagnose/troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively
- Performs regular calibration of nutrient testing instruments

Lead Fertigation Technician Job Summary:
The Lead Fertigation Technician will ensure all irrigation and nutrient feeding requirements are followed accordingly. Performs installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems. Operates power equipment and hand tools to install, maintain, and repair irrigation systems and related components, including irrigation lines, sprinkler heads, control panels, valves, pumps, etc. The Lead will oversee and have 6 to 7 Fertigation Technician Direct Reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop nutrient programs with the Cultivation Manager to ensure strain-specific needs are met
- Maintain strategy for crop irrigation and feeding schedules
- Work closely with the growing team to ensure irrigation plan is appropriately implemented and maintained
- Maintain inventory of all chemicals and fertilizers on site
- Ensure fertilizer concentrate tanks are filled adequately
- Respond to system alarms and diagnose/troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively
- Take measurements, record data, and observations
- Write and execute Standard Operating Procedures related to fertigation
- Performs regular calibration of nutrient testing instruments
- Monitor soil moisture content of the crop, and obtain water samples for testing
- Must perform soil EC/pH testing and ensure that crops stay with in defined ranges for both values.
- Must be an expert at identifying nutrient deficiencies in crops and be able to correct them.
- Able to work variable shifts to meet business requirements
- Train and lead a team of irrigation techs.
- Be able to work closely with other departments to help them achieve their goals by adapting to their needs surrounding irrigation.
- Must ensure availability on weekends and holidays as needed.

Skill, Experience & Education
- High School Education or GED graduate; some college or college graduate preferred
- Previous experience in a licensed cannabis production facility preferred

Fell? Cannabis is seeking a Fertigation Technician to join our team. The Fertigation Technician is responsible for administering daily feeds and irrigations to all crops at various stages within the facility to maintain optimal plant health levels. The main responsibilities include; completing tasks assigned by the Director of Cultivation to monitor and maintain plant production and health; maintain quality control measures to ensure high quality product; maintain organization, cleanliness and efficiency of the production areas specifically related to fertigation; carry out day-to-day fertigation operations including, running automated drip irrigation feeds, hand watering (as needed), mixing and handling of various chemicals and fertilizer stock tanks, and data collection in accordance with the standard operating procedures set by Fell? Cannabis.
Schedule: 4- 10 hour shifts weekly
*Must be able to work either Saturday or Sunday
Core Job Duties
- Irrigations:
- Responsible for measuring and mixing nutrient and plant applications and applying these mixtures according to Fell?’s policy
- Mixing, monitoring, and handling of fertilizer stock tanks and acid injection systems.
- Initiating and monitoring automated and manual irrigation events to all crops in various stages of growth.
- Apply various biologicals, supplements, and bio-stimulants on a pre-determined or as needed basis.
- Facility Cleaning:
- Regular inspection, cleaning, and testing of all fertigation related equipment’s
- Responsible for the cleanliness of all fertigation Equipment and areas of operation
- Data Collection/ Analytics
o Monitor plant health levels in the facility and be able to come up with casualty and remedy solutions for various issues.
o Collect, monitor, measure, enter, and analyze run-off values and perform pore-through and slurry tests as needed.
o Documentation of all applicable logs, forms, and documents regarding fertigation activities in accordance to Fell?’s policy and regulatory guidelines.
- Additional responsibilities:
o Foliar feed spray applications to various plants in the facility on an as needed or pre-determined basis.
o Calibration and testing of meters and equipment on a regular basis
o Act as a technical resource to Cultivation staff regarding fertigation and crop nutrition.
Required Experience, Education and Skills
- Two-year degree in horticulture or related field preferred
- Two years of experience in a general crop production, preferably a regulated field producing for human consumption
- Knowledge of Michigan medical cannabis law, medicinal benefits preferred, and horticulture skills
- Effective time-management skills and ability to multi-task
- Ability to stand, sit, kneel, and lift equipment or plants up to 50 lbs. for extended periods
- Ability to work in hot conditions in summer reaching more than 90 degrees
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing and challenging environment

Main Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain stock tanks in fertigation room
- Maintain and operate the fertigation system
- Inspect flower rooms daily to ensure that plants are being properly fed. Identify wilting or overwatered plants
- Monitor runoff and catch system to ensure proper PH/EC of feed to rooms.
- Log data for each room on appropriate sheets
Additional responsibilities:
- Ensure that fertigation work is being carried out on days where they are not present
- Monitor and maintain Dosatron injection system as required
- On Fridays(Ensure Stock Tanks & Acid tank are full and ready for the weekend)
- Clean filters in every fert station(every other week)
- Power wash and clean mix tanks(once per month)
- Interact with all required state regulators in a professional manner
Daily Tasks
- Gather irrigation data for all flower rooms Drip/Drain
- Check Damatex panels to ensure switches are all in the correct position.
- Check and make stock tanks in fertigation room
- Check Water Content/EC using Grosens and report any environmental issues
- Check Outlook(for emails) by 8:00am
- Coordinate with the Cultivation Manager, Flower Lead, and Veg Lead to set a daily plan.
- Execute directives
Harvest
- Prepare a solution to facilitate the cleaning of the irrigation lines.

Lead Fertigation Technician Job Summary:
The Lead Fertigation Technician will ensure all irrigation and nutrient feeding requirements are followed accordingly. Performs installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems. Operates power equipment and hand tools to install, maintain, and repair irrigation systems and related components, including irrigation lines, sprinkler heads, control panels, valves, pumps, etc. The Lead will oversee and have 6 to 7 Fertigation Technician Direct Reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop nutrient programs with the Cultivation Manager to ensure strain-specific needs are met
- Maintain strategy for crop irrigation and feeding schedules
- Work closely with the growing team to ensure irrigation plan is appropriately implemented and maintained
- Maintain inventory of all chemicals and fertilizers on site
- Ensure fertilizer concentrate tanks are filled adequately
- Respond to system alarms and diagnose/troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively
- Take measurements, record data, and observations
- Write and execute Standard Operating Procedures related to fertigation
- Performs regular calibration of nutrient testing instruments
- Monitor soil moisture content of the crop, and obtain water samples for testing
- Must perform soil EC/pH testing and ensure that crops stay with in defined ranges for both values.
- Must be an expert at identifying nutrient deficiencies in crops and be able to correct them.
- Able to work variable shifts to meet business requirements
- Train and lead a team of irrigation techs.
- Be able to work closely with other departments to help them achieve their goals by adapting to their needs surrounding irrigation.
- Must ensure availability on weekends and holidays as needed.

Skill, Experience & Education
- High School Education or GED graduate; some college or college graduate preferred
- Previous experience in a licensed cannabis production facility preferred
- Must be computer literate.
- Must have excellent mathematical skills and a good grasp of chemistry.

FERTIGATION TECHNICIAN JOB DESCRIPTION
The Fertigation Technician works together with their TEAM to ensure that all plants within the cultivation facility are provided their daily water / nutrient regimen, as well as maintain the equipment infrastructure under the oversight of the Cultivation Manager.
As a Water Technician TEAM Member, you will:
- Prepare large-scale water tanks with base water, verifying temperatures and specified element levels as outlined by Manager.
- Prepare and mix all nutrients in large scale tanks in preparation for daily feedings to all Vegetative Room and all Bloom Room locations.
- Prepare, Verify and oversee the functionality of Control Valves, Actuators and feed lines.
- Receive daily watering routine assigned by the Cultivation Manager and execute that routine via Tablet Interface. Verify all feedings physically by visually inspecting the water systems in each of the Veg and Bloom Room locations.
- Perform scheduled checks and maintenance on Pumps, Seals, Gaskets and feed lines in the Water Room.
- Clean and Maintain functionality of Disc Filters, Emitters and Manifolds that supply nutrients to the plants. Repair leaks in equipment as needed.
- Clean all work areas involved, e.g., sweeping, dusting, mopping, and sanitizing work surfaces and common spaces. TEAM members MUST prioritize Cleanliness and Organization.

The Role

- Develop nutrient programs with the Cultivation Manager to ensure strain-specific needs are met
- Maintain strategy for crop irrigation and feeding schedules
- Work closely with the growing team to ensure irrigation plan is appropriately implemented and maintained
- Maintain inventory of all chemicals and fertilizers on site
- Ensure fertilizer concentrate tanks are filled adequately

Skill, Experience & Education
- High School Education or GED graduate; some college or college graduate preferred
- Previous experience in a licensed cannabis production facility preferred
- Must be computer literate.

About This Role
Every position at Common Citizen from seed to sale, is contributing to our mission to serve our fellow citizens of Michigan with the highest quality, safest cannabis product through our highly individualized and education-oriented provisioning centers. As such our growers, harvesters and trimmers are all called Cultivation Citizens.
Fertigation Technicians are subject matter experts responsible for achieving hourly and daily results. They work in various areas but primarily accountable for fertigation, providing feedback on plant development and cultivation infrastructure.
What You Will Be Doing as Fertigation Technician

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Assuring work tasks within your assigned responsibilities are executed per the Standard Work with high degree of Safety, Quality and Regulatory Compliance
- Help your team achieve daily targets of Productivity, Quality and Safety
- On occasion facilitate Tier 1 Huddles and help manage our CC Lean Management System of Visual Controls (i.e., White Boards, Visual Standards, Signage, etc.)
- Participate in Lean Kaizen events, Time Observation Studies, and Safety Committees
- Accountable for 5-S and Standard Work development and improvement within your area
Overview of Position
· The main responsibility of the Fertigation Technician is to ensure irrigation and fertilizing systems are in proper working order.
· The Fertigation Technician provides our crops with accurate and timely fertigation with the focused attention necessary to produce clean, potent, safe product for our consumers.
· The Fertigation Technician is responsible for the entirety of the Fertigation Room with a variety of irrigation duties which continue to evolve as the scale of the company increases.
· The focus of the Fertigation Technician is to meet daily/weekly/monthly productivity, quality and compliance requirements.
· The Fertigation Technician will be prepared to operate the Priva system and through careful diagnose will troubleshoot watering issues and find solutions to maintain Fertigation/Irrigation.
· The Fertigation Technician will interface and coordinate via Priva (under the guidance of Greenhouse Advisor, etc.) to ensure timely and accurate application of the company’s irrigation procedures and strategies.
· The successful candidate is expected to operate under the highest standards of compliance and professionalism as well as possess a passion for horticulture and a willingness to continually learn more about the subject.
Essential Duties
- In conjunction with Cultivation Captains and Scouts, monitor plants for any sign of wilting or other deficiencies which may require immediate attention.
- Ensure all plants have been accurately and successfully watered/fed.
· Maintaining accurate records of reservoirs, equipment and other crop related logs assigned by the Chief Cannabis Officer, the Greenhouse Advisor, and the Cultivation Captain (s)
· Calibrate, operate, clean and store pH/EC meters
· Monitoring plants for a wide variety of conditions such as plant diseases, insects, nutrient deficiencies, etc.
- In conjunction with the Facilities Staff, identify and repair any necessary issues pertaining to emitter lines, pumps, tanks, lines, workstations etc.
- Hand water plants that may require special irrigation treatment.
- Conduct emitter output tests periodically.
- Flush irrigation lines according to company procedures.
- Contribute to daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning and general maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.
- Work in a safe manner according to Company and OSHA policies.
- Other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to assisting other departments to help facilitate the additional and/or supplemental work such harvesting, trimming, packaging, cleaning and light maintenance as needed throughout the facility
Education
High school diploma or equivalent
2 years post-secondary education in horticulture, agriculture, biology, chemistry or related field preferred
Work Experience Required
· Work history showing progressive responsibility, willingness to accept additional projects or challenges
· 1+ year experience in horticulture, botany, or related field
Required Knowledge
· Knowledge of basic computer & office equipment operations (inventory systems; Word; Excel; office equipment such as copiers/telephone systems)
· Math required for inventory, projections, and measurements
· Biology and chemistry related to plant growth, nutrition

About This Role
Every position at Common Citizen from seed to sale, is contributing to our mission to serve our fellow citizens of Michigan with the highest quality, safest cannabis product through our highly individualized and education-oriented provisioning centers. As such our growers, harvesters and trimmers are all called Cultivation Citizens.
Fertigation Technicians are subject matter experts responsible for achieving hourly and daily results. They work in various areas but primarily accountable for fertigation, providing feedback on plant development and cultivation infrastructure.
What You Will Be Doing as Fertigation Technician
Outlined below is what we see you doing at this point in time. We are a fast-growing company looking for people that are excited to grow along with us.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Assuring work tasks within your assigned responsibilities are executed per the Standard Work with high degree of Safety, Quality and Regulatory Compliance
- Help your team achieve daily targets of Productivity, Quality and Safety
- On occasion facilitate Tier 1 Huddles and help manage our CC Lean Management System of Visual Controls (i.e., White Boards, Visual Standards, Signage, etc.)
- Participate in Lean Kaizen events, Time Observation Studies, and Safety Committees
- Accountable for 5-S and Standard Work development and improvement within your area
Overview of Position
· The main responsibility of the Fertigation Technician is to ensure irrigation and fertilizing systems are in proper working order.
· The Fertigation Technician provides our crops with accurate and timely fertigation with the focused attention necessary to produce clean, potent, safe product for our consumers.
· The Fertigation Technician is responsible for the entirety of the Fertigation Room with a variety of irrigation duties which continue to evolve as the scale of the company increases.
· The focus of the Fertigation Technician is to meet daily/weekly/monthly productivity, quality and compliance requirements.
· The Fertigation Technician will be prepared to operate the Priva system and through careful diagnose will troubleshoot watering issues and find solutions to maintain Fertigation/Irrigation.
· The Fertigation Technician will interface and coordinate via Priva (under the guidance of Greenhouse Advisor, etc.) to ensure timely and accurate application of the company’s irrigation procedures and strategies.
· The successful candidate is expected to operate under the highest standards of compliance and professionalism as well as possess a passion for horticulture and a willingness to continually learn more about the subject.
Essential Duties
- In conjunction with Cultivation Captains and Scouts, monitor plants for any sign of wilting or other deficiencies which may require immediate attention.
- Ensure all plants have been accurately and successfully watered/fed.
· Maintaining accurate records of reservoirs, equipment and other crop related logs assigned by the Chief Cannabis Officer, the Greenhouse Advisor, and the Cultivation Captain (s)
· Calibrate, operate, clean and store pH/EC meters
· Monitoring plants for a wide variety of conditions such as plant diseases, insects, nutrient deficiencies, etc.
- In conjunction with the Facilities Staff, identify and repair any necessary issues pertaining to emitter lines, pumps, tanks, lines, workstations etc.
- Hand water plants that may require special irrigation treatment.
- Conduct emitter output tests periodically.
- Flush irrigation lines according to company procedures.
- Contribute to daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning and general maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.
- Work in a safe manner according to Company and OSHA policies.
- Other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to assisting other departments to help facilitate the additional and/or supplemental work such harvesting, trimming, packaging, cleaning and light maintenance as needed throughout the facility
Education
High school diploma or equivalent
2 years post-secondary education in horticulture, agriculture, biology, chemistry or related field preferred
Work Experience Required
· Work history showing progressive responsibility, willingness to accept additional projects or challenges
· 1+ year experience in horticulture, botany, or related field
Required Knowledge
· Knowledge of basic computer & office equipment operations (inventory systems; Word; Excel; office equipment such as copiers/telephone systems)
· Math required for inventory, projections, and measurements
· Biology and chemistry related to plant growth, nutrition

Lead Fertigation Technician Job Summary:
The Lead Fertigation Technician will ensure all irrigation and nutrient feeding requirements are followed accordingly. Performs installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems. Operates power equipment and hand tools to install, maintain, and repair irrigation systems and related components, including irrigation lines, sprinkler heads, control panels, valves, pumps, etc. The Lead will oversee and have 6 to 7 Fertigation Technician Direct Reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop nutrient programs with the Cultivation Manager to ensure strain-specific needs are met
- Maintain strategy for crop irrigation and feeding schedules
- Work closely with the growing team to ensure irrigation plan is appropriately implemented and maintained
- Maintain inventory of all chemicals and fertilizers on site
- Ensure fertilizer concentrate tanks are filled adequately
- Respond to system alarms and diagnose/troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively
- Take measurements, record data, and observations
- Write and execute Standard Operating Procedures related to fertigation
- Performs regular calibration of nutrient testing instruments
- Monitor soil moisture content of the crop, and obtain water samples for testing
- Must perform soil EC/pH testing and ensure that crops stay with in defined ranges for both values.
- Must be an expert at identifying nutrient deficiencies in crops and be able to correct them.
- Able to work variable shifts to meet business requirements
- Train and lead a team of irrigation techs.
- Be able to work closely with other departments to help them achieve their goals by adapting to their needs surrounding irrigation.
- Must ensure availability on weekends and holidays as needed.

Skill, Experience & Education
- High School Education or GED graduate; some college or college graduate preferred
- Previous experience in a licensed cannabis production facility preferred

The Fertigation Technician works in conjunction with the Fertigation Supervisor to oversee and implement all irrigation and fertigation activities across the entire grow. - Check and balance EC & pH of stock tanks according to company standard operations procedures (SOPs)
- Clean and sanitize nutrient tanks, pumps, filters as needed
- Maintain and ensure Irrigation and Fertigation equipment is in good working order
- Comply with company and product label safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Take nutrient samples to be sent out for analysis
- Maintain and ensure proper storage and sanitation of all tools and equipment, including but not limited to shop vacs, pumps, hoses, carts, scissors, stools, totes, gloves, rags, and PPE gear
- Meticulous record keeping of all nutrient use
- Work closely with the grow team to ensure the irrigation/fertigation plan is properly implemented and maintained
- Maintain inventory of all fertilizers on site
- Ensure fertilizer concentrate tanks are filled adequately
- Respond to system alarms and diagnose/troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively
- Performs regular calibration of nutrient testing instruments
- Responsible for the installation and maintenance of general irrigation equipment: valves, emitters, drip stakes, drip tubing, and bench lines
- Monitor soil moisture content of the crop and obtain water samples for testing
- Able to work variable shifts to meet business requirements. Including weekends, holidays, and over-time

POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Fertigation Technician
REPORTS TO: Director of Cultivation
SCHEDULE: 4- 10 hour shifts weekly *Must be able to work either Saturday or Sunday
JOB SUMMARY: FellÅ Cannabis is seeking a Fertigation Technician to join our team. The
Fertigation Technician is responsible for administering daily feeds and irrigations to all crops at various stages within the facility to maintain optimal plant health levels. The main responsibilities include; completing tasks assigned by the
Director of Cultivation to monitor and maintain plant production and health; maintain quality control measures to ensure high quality product; maintain organization, cleanliness and efficiency of the production areas specifically related to fertigation; carry out day-to-day fertigation operations including, running automated drip irrigation feeds, hand watering (as needed), mixing and handling of various chemicals and fertilizer stock tanks, and data collection in accordance with the standard operating procedures set by FellÅ Cannabis.
CORE JOB DUTIES
- Irrigations: o Responsible for measuring and mixing nutrient and plant applications and applying these mixtures according to FellÅ’s policy o Mixing, monitoring, and handling of fertilizer stock tanks and acid injection systems. o Initiating and monitoring automated and manual irrigation events to all crops in various stages of growth. o Apply various biologicals, supplements, and bio-stimulants on a pre-determined or as needed basis.
- Facility Cleaning: o Regular inspection, cleaning, and testing of all fertigation related equipment’s o Responsible for the cleanliness of all fertigation Equipment and areas of operation
- Data Collection/ Analytics o Monitor plant health levels in the facility and be able to come up with casualty and remedy solutions for various issues. o Collect, monitor, measure, enter, and analyze run-off values and perform pore-through and slurry tests as needed. o Documentation of all applicable logs, forms, and documents regarding fertigation activities in accordance to FellÅ’s policy and regulatory guidelines.
- Additional responsibilities: o Foliar feed spray applications to various plants in the facility on an as needed or pre- determined basis. o Calibration and testing of meters and equipment on a regular basis o Act as a technical resource to Cultivation staff regarding fertigation and crop nutrition.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS
- Two-year degree in horticulture or related field preferred
- Two years of experience in a general crop production, preferably a regulated field producing for human consumption
- Knowledge of Michigan medical cannabis law, medicinal benefits preferred, and horticulture skills
- Effective time-management skills and ability to multi-task
- Ability to stand, sit, kneel, and lift equipment or plants up to 50 lbs. for extended periods
CULTIVATION
POSITION DESCRIPTION
- Ability to work in hot conditions in summer reaching more than 90 degrees
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing and challenging environment
