- This is a hands-on, cannabis production position. You will be working in an indoor production, warehouse-like environment. Rooms are industrially lit and feature heavy machinery sounds at times.

MedPharm Iowa’s Production Associate I assists in the processing of cannabis plant material and in the manufacturing of finished medical cannabis products. This position may also work otherMedPharm Iowa teams at its medical cannabis manufacturing operation. The Production AssociateI, using batch records and other written instructions, assists with processing cannabis plants for extraction, extracting cannabis oil, preparing bulk product mixes, finished product container filling, quality sampling, raw material reconciliation, and other manufacturing related tasks.

The Extraction Associate is responsible for navigating day-to-day laboratory operations. This includes working with the extraction equipment to assist with the extraction process, clean up equipment, and conduct general lab duties. Extraction agents work as a team to perform extractions of cannabis products and maintenance of extraction instruments. Principal Responsibilities:
Under direction from the Extraction Manager, the Extraction Associate is responsible for assisting in the operation of the extraction production process while ensuring the safe, accurate, and timely production of products. The Extraction Associate’s duties shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
· Assist in the operation and maintenance of extraction equipment.
· Help develop and execute the process of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
· Assist with the front-end processing of raw materials, including weighing, grinding, cleaning and general lab work.
· Prepare work space, equipment, and materials daily.
· Wash and sterilize laboratory glassware and equipment.
· Schedule and perform regular maintenance, cleaning, and repairs of all equipment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain all extraction instruments and equipment
- Maintain an organized and compliant work space
- Complete and maintain all production records, logs, and mandatory paperwork
- Exceed assigned goals and initiate new goals with oversight and support of manager
- Perform all assigned equipment cleaning and maintenance and initiate when needed
- Collect hazardous and nonhazardous waste and dispose of properly
- Assist management in development projects as assigned
- Firmly grasp and assess daily product quality
- Responsible for communicating inventory of job-related materials
- Plan and schedule work to meet production and schedule requirements with limited supervision
- Work as part of a team to successfully meet production schedule
- Contribute to SOPs, inventory reports and productivity reports
- Clearly communicate production progress and status changes at shift change over
- Assist in training for all new technicians
- Interact with vendors equipment manufacturers as assigned
- Willingly and openly share learned skills and job knowledge
- Uphold Native Roots culture and vision statement
- Ability to identify gaps and improvements for self
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Must already possess or be able to qualify to receive a Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) support badge and be 21 years of age or older.
- 1 year of experience working in a commercial cannabis facility
- Capable of performing routine tasks and able to make equipment repairs or notify proper personnel when unable to.
- Ability to plan ahead, trouble-shoot, anticipate problems, and problem solve.
- Ability to learn new technologies.
- Able to follow directions and ask questions as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- A four-year degree in a scientific discipline, or relevant work experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for majority of shift
- Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis, up to 75 pounds occasionally
- Ability to work 10-hour shifts
