Position Summary:
This is a hands-on, full-time position with day-to-day duties that includes being responsible for assisting with cultivating operations, including production, product quality, safety, and inventory. The Assistant Cultivator Tech must have excellent problem-solving skills and excellent communication skills to interact and assist and train other cultivators and trimmers. Duties focus on cultivating product in coordination with the Head Cultivator and other cultivators. Teamwork, leadership, and collaboration are required to be successful in this position. This position reports directly to the Head Cultivator.
Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities
- Performing general agriculture related labor in an indoor setting
- Performing full cleaning/sanitation of the grow rooms in-between and after harvests
- Preparing and loading empty grow rooms with fresh plant growing medium for the next batch of plants
- Performing plant transfers/transplants
- Performing plant work (defoliation/trellising/pruning)
- Working on ladders/staging/scaffolding
- Working in bright growing environments (eye protection provided)
- Watering grow rooms with irrigation/hand watering and checking basic water chemistry

CANNABIS CULTIVATOR ASSISTANT
We are an indoor year-round OCP licensed cannabis farm in Freeport, ME, looking to fill a position for an assistant cultivator.

RESPONSIBLE FOR:
As our Assistant Cultivator, you will be responsible for helping our Head Cultivator oversee our indoor cannabis cultivation, including but not limited to:
- Create and maintain a cultivation plan that meets or exceeds industry standards for the cultivation of high quality product and optimization of operations
- Implementation of cultivation plan upon approval of company directors
- Strategize crop production over the course of the year and monitor progress of crops for optimal quality, health and yield
- Stay informed as to updates and changes in rules and regulations regarding cannabis and specifically, medical marijuana
- Make recommendations for changes in cultivation plan as necessary
- Maintain records of departmental procedures and activities, as outlined in OCP guidelines, as well as instruction from company directors

About the Job:
As the Assistant Head Cultivator, you are expected to manage small teams to ensure the plants are given the best care through all stages of the growing process. - Organizing and documenting the processes of transplanting, cloning, defoliating, topping and training of plants

- Create sanitary cultivation practices and procedures to reduce chances of pests or diseases entering the growing area or spreading

- Implementing an effective preventative maintenance program and biological controls designed to eliminate molds, mildews, mites, aphids, fungus, and other diseases.

I. General Description
Provides manual labor to support the activities and operations of the Cultivation Department while simultaneously abiding by the policies, procedures and operational guidelines set forth in the employee handbook. Current position available is for a full time employee to help with the day to day operations of a newly licensed cultivation facility. No experience necessary. This position will consist of primarily working with cannabis plants, including watering, trimming, inspecting them working with fertilizer, climate control systems, etc.
We strive to operate in a very orderly and organized manner and are first and foremost looking for individuals who will follow instructions well and complete their assigned tasks with a high level of quality and thoroughness. We have an electronic checklist that must get filled out everyday and are looking for persons who have a good attention to detail in finding any potential issues and alerting the lead growers to the situation. We have lots of books on cannabis cultivation and hope that whoever we hire will spend the time to educate themselves both at work and outside of work hours. We would like to help you to continuously improve and advance your knowledge of all aspects of cultivation and are not looking for persons who think they already know everything. You must have good communication skills, be respectful to your co-workers at all times, and leave the drama at home. You will report to the lead growers and master grower. Must be willing to work at a minimum of two evening shifts a week which will end at around 8:30 pm so that pesticides can be applied in the dark.

JOB SUMMARY:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
General Duties:
· Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and cultivation practices under the direction of the cultivation management.

·Maintaining all feeding, watering, and pH logs, reporting any discrepancies or problems immediately.

The Assistant Cultivator will assist the Lead Grower in performing all daily functions and ensure all grow houses are functioning properly. Maintain high quality work standards. Daily functions would include maintenance on irrigation systems, reservoirs, plant care, plant training and upkeep of the warehouse. Assistant Cultivators tackle tasks individually and as a group. Must be self-motivated and be able to fit in as a team member.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Lead Cultivator in daily tasks
- Irrigation and Water Management
- Pruning, Training, Trellis placement, and Defoliation
Requirements:
- No experience required.
- Ability to work and function in a tight knit team
- Strong attention to detail
- Good observational skills
- Punctuality. Must be dependable and able to show up to work on time every day
- Enthusiastic with a good attitude
- Must be able to follow directions from Management
- Maintain state regulated guidelines
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Preferred:
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrates professional and respectful demeanor towards others.
* Must be able to secure appropriate work credentials from the Nevada Department of Taxation.
