This role is for a highly experienced Senior Analytical Chemist who has routinely performed ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory for sample preparation and analytical instrumentation such HPLC-DAD, LC-MSMS, GC-MSMS and ICP-MS and PCR. The Senior Chemist/Associate Lab Manager will be responsible for overall cannabis laboratory operations. This position is given directions by the Laboratory Director.
Duties
- The Senior Chemist, reporting to the Laboratory Director, will be responsible for all aspects of lab operations. Ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality results and unparalleled customer service.

Summary:
Rapidly Expanding Cannabis/Hemp Testing Lab is seeking a professional and experienced Analytical Chemist. This position will perform routine testing of Cannabis/Hemp flowers, extracts, edibles and oils for an Internal Testing Lab (ITL) in Worcester, MA. The position will report to the Laboratory Director.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Support all aspects of laboratory test work including receiving of samples, homogenization, extractions, dilutions, etc.
- Analyze samples consisting of a variety of matrices using traditional laboratory techniques using LC/MS, GC/MS, ICP/MS, PCR, etc.
- Data entry, sample intake and sample management using the LIMS and word processing as required.
- Maintain inventory of samples, laboratory supplies, sample storage and disposal, cleaning and other supporting lab processes.
- Properly dispose of chemical and biohazard waste.
- Cleaning and maintenance of equipment, laboratory glassware and laboratory facility.
- Maintain, calibrate and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
- Lead and participate in training and continuous improvement projects.
- Takes ownership of issues and follows through to resolution.
- Ensure customer results are reported quickly and accurately, meeting the laboratory performance metrics.
- Follow all regulatory requirements and established SOPs including safety and health, quality assurance and quality control.

Qualifications:
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field.

- Review chromatographic and QA/QC data ensuring it meets established criteria and upload final results into the LIMS.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs sample preparation in state-licensed cannabis laboratory. Brings a senior level of experience and is open to both learning more and sharing knowledge with others.
