A DAY IN THE LIFE
Enthalpy Analytical, is part of the larger organization, Montrose Environmental Group, is comprised of over 9 laboratories servicing air, water, soil, tobacco, cannabis, and toxicology testing. Our Richmond, VA facility is currently seeking a Full-Time Sample Receiving Technician.
Sample Control technicians are responsible for ensuring that samples received by Enthalpy are received, documented, and stored correctly. They are usually the first point of contact between the clients’ samples and the laboratory and, as such, are responsible for immediately notifying the Laboratory Project Manager as to receipt, volume, preservation, labeling, or other discrepancies that could affect the laboratory’s ability to efficiently and profitably generate complete and accurate sample results on time, and meet the expectations of our clients. Sample Control technicians are also responsible for receiving incoming chemicals, standards and consumable supplies for the laboratory.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Shipping & Receiving Technician/Driver (S&R Tech) is a critical part of the Conception Nurseries Business Operations team. This individual is responsible for the transportation and delivery of goods to our customers and for ensuring all supplies coming into the facility are properly stored and/or distributed to the appropriate operations staff for use. The successful candidate will work as part of a team to ensure that plants ready for sale are appropriately packed, correctly labeled with the accurate delivery address, and delivered on time to the customer cultivation site. This individual will be required to submit a Motor Vehicle Report from the DMV showing they have a clean, valid California driver's license. This position will report directly to the Shipping and Receiving Lead.

- Day to day communication with Operations, Production, and Sales leadership to ensure all shipping and receiving and distribution needs are executed accurately and in a timely manner.

Job Description:
The Receiving & Fulfillment Technician will be responsible for working with the Purchasing Department to check in and put away all incoming parts and materials. Close out PO’s and maintain the Kanban system. When not receiving this position will help to fulfill orders and prepare equipment for shipment.

- Unloading incoming trucks and receiving all incoming material and parts based on the established process, checking for accuracy and quality, and putting away all items in their designated area.
- Receiving Process – pull open PO and Kanban card for parts that have arrived. Check off incoming material/parts to the PO by count and quality. Move checked in parts to their designated area and placing the Kanban card back in the storage area. Enter received parts into the ERP system once implemented. - Move parts to and from overflow bay as needed utilizing forklift.
- When there is no receiving required work with the fulfillment staff to fulfill customer orders.
- Ability to interpret pick lists and work instructions.
- Prepares work to be accomplished by reviewing instructions, sales order, and pick lists.
- Gathering parts, sub-assemblies, and finished goods for packaging.

Summary/objective
The Receiving Technician will greet transporters and receive, inspect, and record shipments with raw material or products. This position will be responsible for unloading packages and checking their contents to ensure they match related documentation, helping to ensure purchases end up at the proper destinations. This position will also work with the finance team to support the business through transaction entry and other related administrative work.

What you will be doing:
- Receive and log in samples in preparation for analysis. Review sample and any attached documentation to assign identification number and enter information into Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Prepare documentation acknowledging receipt of samples.
- Contact client to obtain and clarify missing or unclear information.
- Ensure appropriate storage of samples and maintain sample inventory.
- Coordinate sample flow between departments in the laboratory.
- Prepare packages for pick up by shipping vendors. Follow appropriate procedures to send packages and maintain all related documentation.
- Prepare samples to be shipped to other testing facilities. Complete appropriate documentation.
- May assist laboratory personnel with the preparation and analysis of samples.
- Must be able to help perform basic tasks in a laboratory environment including, but not limited to; washing prep tools, weighing, or measuring samples, and other basic tasks.
- Travel offsite using a company vehicle to pickup samples.
- Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- HS Degree or Equivalent
- Valid VA driver’s license with good driving record
- Experience in a scientific setting preferred.

A DAY IN THE LIFE
Enthalpy Analytical, is part of the larger organization, Montrose Environmental Group, is comprised of over 9 laboratories servicing air, water, soil, tobacco, cannabis, and toxicology testing. Regulations drive the need for our services, but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance.
Our Richmond, VA facility is currently seeking a Full-Time Sample Receiving Technician.
Sample Control technicians are responsible for ensuring that samples received by Enthalpy are received, documented, and stored correctly. They are usually the first point of contact between the clients’ samples and the laboratory and, as such, are responsible for immediately notifying the Laboratory Project Manager as to receipt, volume, preservation, labeling, or other discrepancies that could affect the laboratory’s ability to efficiently and profitably generate complete and accurate sample results on time, and meet the expectations of our clients. Sample Control technicians are also responsible for receiving incoming chemicals, standards and consumable supplies for the laboratory.
Role and Responsibilities
- Receiving samples and supplies
- Processing samples and supplies
- Review and reconciliation of sample receipt and chain-of-custody
- Communicating sample status to Sales for samples received or expected to be received
- Sample and supply storage
- Maintain sample disposal records
- Maintaining sample storage archive area and records
- Disposal of hazardous waste according to Enthalpy’s waste disposal plan and all local, State and Federal requirements.
- Assist in updating SOPs related to sample handling
- Prepare sampling supplies for shipment to clients
- Outgoing shipping
- Maintain inventory and maintenance for sampling canisters and sampling orifices
- Overhead projects designed to improve efficiency of sample storage or processing
- Complying with Enthalpy’s Quality Assurance Program and other policies
- Other duties as assigned by Sales Department or Lab Director
- Comply with Enthalpy’s Exposure Control Plan

The role of the lab assistant is primarily to accept samples from clients and deliver them to sample prep areas in a timely manner. The work under direction of a supervisory analyst to complete tasks by following ASL's relevant Standard Operating Procedures. Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all receiving activities in the building including:
- o Proper inspection of any product/equipment receipt
- o Proper documentation per receiving SOP
- o Communicating receipt to all involved parties
- Assist in product movement throughout the building
- Responsible for regular cycle counts of all product in East Wing Storage
- Assist in cycle count of all ingredients throughout the facility
- Assist in cycle count of all finished goods throughout the building
- Maintain clean and safe work environment
- Maintain FIFO method of inventory control
- Assist in reporting inventory levels
Competencies, Skills, and Knowledge
- Must be able to drive forklift
